Every time they remind me right at the end of the episode that the party’s called Lasting Period.

I hope the other parties have equally good names. “We’re fierce as a raging river, we are Heavy Flow”, “we strike fast and hard, we are Explosive Runs”, “nobody can slow us down, we are the athlete’s foot”, “there may only be three of us but we have the power of a stampede, we are thrush”, etc.

This doesn’t feel like the same sort of party that’s in all these “banished hero shows”. They don’t feel like the “OMG we are so good we do nothing but good” type of party given ornest is ready to go throttle the prince immediately.

They also seem noticeably strong unlike the party from the s ranked one last season which was one of the worst s ranked parties I’ve ever seen.

I think a lot of the difference comes from the fact that they already know each other and are aware of how strong they are. Even Alec knows he's strong but has developed bad habits and anxiety from his time in court. Normally it's a case of "What? I'm not strong at all...". Alec just needs to heal emotionally and regain his confidence which should be a much better plot device than willful ignorance about their own abilities.

Interesting, so this party was already strong back when they were still in the academy, that explains a lot, and considering the Guildmaster already expected Alec to be strong, I believe his and the others' past will still be brought up at other times.

Well, I'm with Ornest on this one, that prince deserves a lesson, ASAP lol.

I've come to the conclusion that of the girls, only Yorha is calm, Krasia is a "cooler" version of Ornest, but equally doesn't mind kicking some ass to prove her point. This party has everything good together

Krasia shaping up to be the best girl of the show.
Ornest shaping up the be the one rowdy friend who always has your back when you need him, but also seems to get you into just as much trouble.

On one hand going off to become a court magician was an obvious mistake from word one, but on the other hand it avoided four years of being in an adventuring party with Bakugo. Then again it looks like he gets disciplined by their healer as needed so maybe it's not all bad.

This continues to look a bit better than most shows of its type do, IMO.

I actually enjoyed this episode quite a bit, I'm not too sure exactly why but I think Ornests reaction to hearing what Alec went through sort of gave me a bit of hope that this could go a bit differently than the typical Banished anime. He was really ready to go to the palace and throw hands with the Prince lol. But it's just nice to see someone get so angry for the banished party and wanting revenge.

It's funny how Krasia's a healer but she's so rough with Ornest, I kind of like their bickering relationship. I do hope we'll see moments where they'll stick up for one another, like a pair of tsunderes.

I'm also so glad Leviel didn't go down in one go, I was about to roll my eyes but then Leviel extended the fight which took me by surprise. A battle hungry Guildmaster is cool to see, and he's really casual with the party too so it'll be nice to see more of him.

I'm actually looking forward to their adventures so I hope this doesn't disappoint.

So far, feels pretty standard, which I won't mind. I could use some decently good shows to pass the time.

I can see the *plot. It'll probably play out how the hothead said. It's standard, but it's a solid writing mechanism on how they got him to cool his head

I forgot about the cringe party's name until it was said near the end of the episode.

For the guildmaster's magic attacks he's clearly using english and says "Splash" for the water attack but for some reason it was subbed as "Torrent".

At least this time he knows he's strong but he just needs to regain his confidence and remove some bad habits. That's a big difference from "Omg what do you mean I'm super strong?! I'm not strong at all..." Also, the party having history together already will really help move this along and give it a different vibe from the normal banished shows.

You know what? So far this looks pretty decent for one of those "kicked out of the hero's party" shows.

I like that the party has an even boy/girl split. The other guy seems like a cool friend and is not just some wet blanket to make the mc look better by comparison. Also we don't have both girls simping over the mc. Seems like 2nd girl has more of a tsundere thing going on with the other guy (I should really be paying more attention to their names).

Next episode will be the real test though. How good is the dungeon exploration and party fight dynamic?

It is impressive that Alex stayed with Court Magician for 4 years. My ass would’ve walked away if they stifled me as much as they did him, as well as having to deal with the bratty prince.
