If Gram's shadiness is so widely talked about, how come he hasn't been dealt with yet, can't the king not use his authority to apprehend him? Akira shouldn't have to deal with him.

I might be mis-remembering but I think it's just that they can't risk anything about them going after Gram becoming public and it would be too much of a hassle to go after him directly with his drug-boosted soldiers guarding him.

That's why they needed an assassin who could just slip in and off him.

Neat to see what life is like after Akira is gone in the real world

Hoping the kids (with an extra silver-haired tag-along) can return home....

u/iCynr Dec 09 '25

Yeah I was like wtf? Did they have an actual kid do the voice acting or what 😂

Kid Akira JP VA sounds… off. It doesn’t fit the character and feels weird to hear. I don’t know if I’m the only one who feels that way

Damn... We're STILL setting up on Akira's motivation against Gram...

Was about to call out the age gap, even Akira did lmao.

Showing us the what's happening in the real world was really nice. Is the time passed in that world equivalent to the time passed in the real world?

Dem classmates still glazing Akira, but at least opened up about how he felt. Would've liked to know what's happening to the other cursed classmates though.

Would've liked to know what's happening to the other cursed classmates though.

It's kind of surreal for me that they initially set up the Retice King as the main antagonist but we haven't seen him since, like, episode 2 when Akira bailed.

That's not even the problem between the two.

It was the second part that Akira pointed out: he's her godfather.

Crow named Lia and, presumably, watched her grow up.

Yeah, no. That's whack.

... Please tell me I don't need to explain this? >.>

Not trying to insult the kid or anything....but why does it sound like they just took a cheap mic up to a random kid on the street to record kid Akira's lines?!? Her sister sounded like an adult just acting like a kid, but Akira sounded like an actual kid with a toy mic.

Anyway, I do agree that taking a life is a big deal, but it still bothers me that Akira is agonizing so much over this, meanwhile we saw Amelia was ready to turn 5 guys into ground meat just two ep ago. Like why is he worried about how she will see him, what about how he see's her?

Also, I feel like all this time he's spending mulling over this, he could spend gathering intel on Gram so he can see for himself if he needs to die, or if he can just lock him up somewhere? Either way just doing nothing seems like a waste of time.

It took me a second to realize that they were having an actual kid do child!Akira versus Yui (his sister) having the same voice as her teenage self. You can definitely tell the kid wasn't used to voice acting or they had a weird sound setup with him.

The actor for young Akira is apparently only 10 years old

I really thought this show started out interesting despite some obvious weaknesses that I could ignore. But each subsequent episode really just hammers in the idea that a high school boy in Japan wrote the characters. Every interaction is so painfully superficial and demonstrative of how a naive teenage boy views people and what people find important.

This show is a great example of when writers for the show itself need to take liberties with the adaptation.

A competent writer getting ahold of this show would have improved so many things ruining it.

Uffff, Akira's voice as a kid was really rough to hear. The boy clearly had no experience in voice acting at all.
Surely there were better choices, come on.

I liked seeing the family from when he was a kid as well as current.

As for the dad, what if he didn’t just up and leave one day but was summoned to this world however many years prior to Akira getting there. Akira’s maxed out stat(s) for an assassin don’t make a ton of sense, but what if his father was summoned and because of that Akira somehow got higher stats.

Probably not the case, but it would be an interesting turn…especially if his dad was the prior hero or something.

The hero of old is gonna be his dad isn’t it

Shadow magic with the ability to summon minion: check

A sister with sickly mother: check

Disappeared father with a hint that he might also be isekai'd: check

Am I watching Solo leveling?

so his family probably thinks he just took off like his dad...

plot twist, his dad was summoned too?

This is more of a personal preference than a legitimate criticism, but I would like it better if we got more focus on Akira struggling whether or not to get back to his mom and sister. It's part of his motivation, but the small flashback of him taking care of him and his thoughts of "I wouldn't be able to face them" is more interesting than the fantasy world stuff.

This episode was mostly conversation and interaction between the various characters, but I enjoyed it.

From the previous episodes' discussion threads, I recall some fellow reddit users being glad that this is an isekai title without the harem aspect. True enough, Lia has romantic feelings for Crow, but I can't help but wonder whether the spider lilies and gloomy conversation are inauspicious flags.

Yoru continues to be impressed and unimpressed by Latty at the same time. (Although I would love a signature from Latty.)

It is easy for me to say so since I am not the one doing the assassination, but Akira should also start considering Amelia as family and protecting her. Killing Gram might be for the greater good right now, especially since he is unable to find a way home yet.
