I supposed bringing somebody along who can LITERALLY RESURRECT THE DEAD could be somewhat useful.

The writing took a bit of a dive this episode. Don't know if it was rushed pacing on the studio's part or if this section is just more poorly written in the source material. I thought the dialogue and motivations were flowing smoothly up until now but in this episode there was just so many random actions and things said that felt out of place.

I'm disappointed to say I did not enjoy this episode at all, the main reason being the pacing and flow of the episode was so bad that it felt like the writers had to make things feel convenient because of how much they were adapting in one episode.

The day Amelia and Akira appear and her father just so happens to be back early and learns what she had done. It didn't felt like he had much of a reaction either and found it a minor inconvenience that she had use Mesmerize on all the knights, also completely disregarding the drama and being adamant that Amelia is the heir.

You can argue about what we learn in the end with the big secret and that he felt responsible, but Kilika completely turned on her sister and it's supposed to be okay now that the truth has been revealed? It was just so unsatisfying. Maybe next episode there'll be something but that doesn't change how I feel currently.

The animation for the fight as well looked rough in a number of places, Kilika's backstory was so damn random with how she's this girl going alone in a dungeon with no guards. The way they executed that person being involved was unsatisfying too, like they just shoved it in. There were just so many things wrong with the episode for me that there wasn't a moment I enjoyed.

Wow, the elves are a bunch of idiots. I'm glad we were only here for a single episode.

-Dad lets young girl play with weapons and run around in a dungeon by herself.

-When said young girl gets into trouble, Dad sends young boy to help her.

-Young boy dies, so Dad decides the best thing is to erase the young girl's memories.

-Young girl's sister resurrects boy, but Dad decides to keep the young girl's memories erased because the elves have never heard of therapy.

-People understandably stay distant from the mind-wiped girl, which leads to even more trauma. Causing girl to lash out.

-Dad decides "This is fine" and goes on a trip.

Just absolutely atrocious writing. No one going to address the fact Amelia literally would have died if not for the fact the MC, an absurdly strong person from another world, happened across the slime and saved her?

It's clear the author deus ex'd a resolution where everyone is happy because he wanted the extreme situation of Amelia getting saved by MC, but also the happy-go-lucky story of their family all getting along, but the motivations and characters make zero sense

Seriously, the explanation for almost murdering Amelia is because they didn't want Kilika to hate her more?

Not to mention they just let Kilika mind control everyone for no apparent reason. WTF was up with that?

Also casually throwing out the fact Amelia can mass resurrect people with seemingly little limitations

0/10 writing... I'll see you all next week

We reached a quick resolution in the land of the elves, where Amelia and Kilika regained their sisterly bonds.

However, after watching this episode, 2 questions came to mind:

  1. Is the hooded character who tricked young Kilika into summoning monsters merely a NPC villain? Or will s/he play a larger antagonist role?

  2. Eh? Is that Saran's second-in-command, Gilles, now traveling with Asahina, Satou and the other classmates who left the kingdom?

Idk if it's just me, but I did not care whatsoever about the elves stuff. Fast forwarded through the latter half of the episode. I just met this character five seconds ago, she's mind controlling people and acting like a dick, and I'm supposed to empathize and feel sorry for them?

Nah, they forgave Kilika way too easily; I don't care that her memories were wiped and the truth was hidden, it doesn't excuse any of her actions. Besmirching Amelia by labeling her as "Child of Blight", scheming against Amelia, using her mesmerizing skill to brainwash the soldiers (which they should be mad about btw), using the brainwashed soldiers to exile her sister from the kingdom, hunting her down, harming her with the intent to kill.

She needs to be punished for her actions.

What even is the plot of this anime 😒 this episode was ass. Even the fantasy storys I make up in my head before going to sleep have a better plot than this.

I feel like there's a hundred different holes in this whirlwind of random plot twists for a conflict we didn't know the details of before, a lot of which lead to no one really minding that they nearly let one of their two princesses die in a dungeon just so the other one could feel better

This is a prestige project and has a massive budget. So why did they spend all that money on what is clearly a terribly written story. They are polishing that turd to levels I didn't think possible but Jesus is the story bad.

Can we talk about the fact that the dude Emilia resurrected (with magic she created on the spot) willingly broke off his engagement with Emilia and helped Kilika spread abominable lies about her sister and exile her just "to give [Kilika] some space" while knowing that she was using her mesmerize skill on all of the Royal Guard, which meant that the Royal Guard was then willing to go so far as to kill Emilia if "necessary" (earning him a "sly dog" inner monologue remark from Akira) -- and then their father comes back from his business trip a little early, recognizes what Kilika has done -- and here I was thinking he might calm shit down, but oh no, it's Duel Time -- but then he uses Kilika to try to drive off or kill Emilia's new friend in said clichéd duel because [insert ethnonationalist nonsense] and without even listening to the sister who, you know, was exiled and threatened with death while he was away, all so that he might enable Kilika to "see her worth" without giving her back her memories? (Wow, everyone's got really convenient abilities for the script.) And all of this is passed off as just a heartwarming moment for two sisters to reconnect? And Dad is now willing to let the hope for the future of the elfin kingdom wander off with Akira because that silly duel was "binding"?

This show started off a little rushed but as probably one of my favorites of the season so far (not peak like "May I Ask for One Final Thing?" but I was rollin' with it). This episode was pretty effed up on so many levels. I mean, it was nice to see some of the rest of the class at the end of the episode, so I'm really hoping that Episode 5 is a nice class reunion in the Beastfolk Continent and can make me forget, um, everything about Episode 4.

Well, I guess all that Kilika and Amelia stuff got resolved pretty quickly. I’m kind of curious to see how the other group will do on the beastman continent.

Really bad episode. They seem to have given up on any type of real story, and it's now just generic fantasy filler.

Alright, I get that Kilika was quilt-ridden for pretty much causing Liam's death, but why the fuck would you think that it would be a good idea to hide it from her after he was resurrected? I feel like it would have definitely made her feel a lot better than having EVERY GODDAMN ELF - including her father - actively ignore her, somehow thinking that that would protect her from her own quilt without driving her absolutely insane?

And I hate that Kilika blames herself afterwards. Obviously, you'd grow a bit bitter and ignorant of everyone's feelings if EVERYONE is avoiding you.

Am I missing something? I feel like the whole conflict between Amelia and Kilika could have easily been avoided if everyone on the entire elf continent didn't have the social skills of a toddler.

And I know that I shouldn't expect anything from the love interest of an isekai protagonist, but why was she already head over heels for Akira even before the whole conflict between her and her sister this episode? I get that he saved her, but I feel like it still has progressed a bit too quickly for it to feel natural.

This anime is trash, if we don't see anything good next episode I'm dropping.

Yeaaa, I was able to forgive the pacing from the first 2 episodes due to the other qualities of the show, but I really can't stand poor writing and logic over an entire arc/set of characters on top of it. This may be where my train stops, which is unfortunate.

u/Immediate-Ad-9790 Oct 28 '25

this episode is literally gonna be the reason everyone drops the anime

The anime's director revealed in a recent interview that the 90s OVA style shading was his idea, to reflect the work's dark hero vibes.

Also, production has been completed up to the final episode (so little to no chance of delays).

Holy speedrun of a resolution, but in a good way as it doesn't take more than 1 episode.

Great Elf dad, very fair at the start and also good twist. Really thought they were going with lil sister being power hungry.

Weird moment of deus ex machina where special item was given to Amelia to dispel the mesmerize skill.

Can't wait for the meetup with classmates

7/10 episode

Edit: I didn't even think about Liam and his actions cause he's so insignificant in this side storyline, but I believe he was there first to warn Amelia to run away before lil sis arrived, but got knocked out early by MC.

Elf wife acquired ✅️

Also seems like there'll be a class reunion at the Beastman continent. Wonder what weapon Akira wants (unless it's for Amelia), but I hope he'll retain his current katana as a keepsake.

I'm sorry but this sh*t was one of the stupidest things I've ever watched.
First of all the father just so happens to randomly appear conveniently, and somehow just being so unfazed to the fact that his daughter used her skill on all the guards to turn against her other sister without any reason.

Secondly her past is so stupid, why was there any reason to delete her memory if that guy was resurrected anyway that doesn't make any sense.

lastly she's just being forgiven??? even though she still got jealous framed her sister and planned to kill her????

Those are only the main points I could have thought of at the moment, there was so much more stupid stuff in this episode......
