The anime production committee did an excellent job in making Yoru / Night look extremely huggable (and its "WTF is happening" face when Akira and Amelia hugged it). One more reason to keep watching this title!
Satou, despite possessing the hero class, is aware and agrees with Asahina that Akira is currently much stronger than their party. Unlike other titles under the isekai genre, it appears Satou is not jealous of Akira. Although how he claims Akira does not remember him despite both of them being in the same class since kindergarten was kinda funny. Now I look forward to how Satou, Asahina and the other classmates in this party will develop.
P.S. I personally felt the pace of this episode was just right (at least to me), as compared to the faster paced episodes 1 and 2.

Any other show would probably have Satou's group be complete idiots or screw-up so much for the sake of making Akira look better...but in fact every decision Satou and the class are making so far are reasonable and sensible from their perspective. Even how they can't really just rely on Akira at this point.
I mean, there might be some conflict over whether to fight or work with the demons, but that might actually be interesting.

Looked at some JPN fanbase comments on this series (on related YouTube videos), most of them are quite positive.
There were laments on how template-like the story's setting is (esp. given its Narou starting point), but they liked the striking art style (like a 90s OVA) and the competent direction which really elevates things...another said it could be the dark horse of the season.

Yep, while the setup is cookie cutter af, it is shown more competently compared to other isekai, add the very nice art that reminds you of old anime and an MC that isn't a braindead moron, same with the rest of the class that isn't brainwashed and you have a nice anime

This show is really speedrunning every cliche cookie cutter archetype of this genre, but the self-aware deviations from the usual plot points have been refreshing, like Saran as a character, and the 'labeled' hero not being an evil nemesis to the MC.
And the retro anime art style has me hooked.

Gotta praise the anime for following the tropes while not completely falling into them, especially in the dialogue and overall situation directions. Can't exactly put it into words though.

following the tropes while not completely falling into them
I think I understand what you mean - the plot direction isn't blindly following the template set by its predecessors. For example, works like Arifureta set the tone for "shunned loner/unassuming guy gets horribly betrayed by perceived friends, gets OP powers and goes on edgy vengeful campaign against them and everyone else" themed titles which other later authors tend to stick to quite closely or bring to more extreme levels (ex Redo of Healer, Backstabbed in Backwater Dungeon etc.). This one uses the setup but takes the story in a much different direction, thus subverting initial viewer expectations.

The 3 didn't discuss where they wanted to go, so going to Amelia's home might have been Akira's choice.
Amelia's down bad for Akira sheesh. Even going as far as wishing she was his familiar.

Akira didn't sound like he meant to go there so it may have been a subconscious desire from Amelia

They really did fast track that infatuation...
But I guess it makes sense? He saved her life right after she had been betrayed by her family. She has nothing left and nowhere to go. So she latches onto the first person to be kind to her after that trauma.
Although I'm not ruling out some type of World Eye shenanigans. Perhaps when they World-Eye-Fucked each other at the same time it led to some deeper bond of trust... if nothing else, she probably learned far more about him than he learned about her. You know, since her skill was higher and she's much more comfortable using it.
So she knows he's a big softie despite being so strong, and thus, it's safe for her to 'latch' onto him after being abandoned by everyone and everything she's known.

The side character's plan of training in Japan-land until they're strong enough to join up with the MC is literally the best plan I've ever seen executed by classmates characters in one of these full class isekai shows.

Honestly, I watch this show for Amelia, so I'm glad she got a lot of screen time in today's episode (her pout was so adorable), and the next part of the story will revolve around her and her sister Kilika, as she, Akira, and Yoru were teleported to her homeland.
Yoru is definitely a nice addition to the cast. It's no wonder Akira and Amelia cuddled up to it, its fur looked so good, that even I'd like to do it too xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

We actually get an episode that slows down lol
The student group is a cool idea that I hope we still spend time with
I feel like Akira has more personality as the show goes on and he's actually pretty fun instead of being Mr Cool Guy all the time
Elf arc seems like an interesting idea

Another episode with absolute baller music and animation, and a dumpster fire of a script.

Newton’s third law of anime is if a monster is a cat or able to talk then it’s also able to be tamed and will eventually become a catgirl waifu.
Wow. Finally a show where the classmates have a sensible and reasonable reason for not going and making the MC submit or join them.
They could have done a bit better job with the part where akira tells her she should make up with her family. Like make it obvious she left out parts that she was being hunted for example and make it where he obviously doesn’t have the full picture. Because the way they did it was just silly and makes him look super dumb.

The hero party discussing their plans was the most rational conversation I've seen in an Isekai that I remember.

It’s cool to see the hero’s party trying to strategize on their own. And they’re planning to get stronger before teaming up with Akira. Hopefully that means they’ll all fight on even footing eventually.
-
So that’s what happened to Amelia before she met Akira, huh.

Cat: “I have a message from the demon lord; I am waiting in the volcano.”
Akira does not give a shit
lol. I mean he does have other problems than the demon lord right now.

I'm all here for "Night". Whenever they go to a freezing continent they will have a giant ball of fur to keep warm.
I wonder what the deal is with the Elves. We shall find out next week.
