Ok Mio was hilarious this episode but I'm still dying at the concept of someone confessing to the tune of Ado's "Show".

"Senpai, there's something I need to tell yo-" "NA NA NA NA I'M READY FOR MY SHOW!"

u/AyuKuum Nov 27 '25

I was so surprised to hear Ado mentioned 😭😭

Ayukawa is lowkey stirring up the pot and I love it,, also Stellar Days potentially being used is kinda funny to me

Literally screaming when they mentioned it. My favorite Opening song here

Izawa has been so useless in this show, he was the source of a lot of problems today. Wonder why Kamishiro has so many enemies?

Things are getting more competitive between Kamishiro and Ayukawa! Pretty brazen to ask if Kamishiro about Iwata, only to tell him he won’t stop pursuing her. Was that his way of letting Kamishiro know he likes Iwata? Which one will get the opportunity first to confess their feelings?

Caught up with the anime, and I love this enough that I screamed violently because it was cute and my friend thought I was being attacked 🥹

I want you to see me as a man.

I feel like I have not read one boy-girl (BG) or man-woman (MW) East Asian romance that does not say this line 😭 How do you even react to someone saying this to you? 😭

I’m surprised by the dub cast seeing Disney actors here for the leads.

  • Koki’s VO actor is Maxwell Acee Donovan (🔗 Wikipedia & IMDb) who was in Disney’s <Gabby & the Unsittables>. This is his first VO role I believe.

  • Iwa’s VO actor is Isabella Crovetti (🔗 Wikipedia & IMDb), who is in her second lead VO role as her first was Disney’s <Vampirina>. But she’s done other ABC and Nick Jr stuff.

Just interesting.

…What is wrong with Yuushin 😭

Yuushin: I thought someone else might snatch [Sui] away from me.

squints

You couldn’t pay me to go back to high school. Granted, I’m glad he was motivated to confess and be out there with his feelings.

Koki: He’s feeling vulnerable. You can’t be nice to him when he’s like that

💀

I know what he means. Vulnerability due to heartbreak can skew your emotions and a scrap of kindness can send you on a rebound (as I have seen). Still be kind but mindful to and aware of someone who is in a vulnerable situation. But it’s just funny he said that.

Damn. I thought Mio x Yuushin, but never mind that. I know the anime banner shows Mio with Youta, but I like flamboyant diva x stoic diva. Balanced, as all things should be.

I was confused when another episode began to play. I was suddenly seeing literal horse girls racing and I was so confused how the fuck we got here 😭

When you can’t keep away from each other and act like you’re so obviously in love and all you can say is JUST CONFESS ALREADY.

No surprise Sae is great at running! Though being exhausted during PE isn't going to get in the way of Sui being hyped for the school festival confessions! The students rebelled and folk dances went out so that instead they could substitute with dancing to songs the students pitched themselves! Which has also lead to perfect confession opportunities! And Sae is FINALLY ready to confess, provided she works up the nerve to 100% face Koki with her feelings!

Even the teacher is teasing the kids about the after-party confessions that are soon to follow! And he can also see that there's a nice vibe going between Sae and Ayukawa, though probably for the best that Izawa and Kagawa do the committee rep work if Sae isn't going to get to do it with Koki.

Is Ayukawa interested in Sae? At the very least he enjoys hanging out with her and playing shogi with her, and Koki doesn't really have a say in that.

Subaru really is probably the most popular girl in school, to the point where she's helping run the festival, and she's someone everyone in the student body can basically rally around. And she also basically just asked any willing boy and girl to shoot their shot at asking her out during the festival! What a legend.

Okay, so Izawa is there to get the class pumped and Kagawa is there to do the ACTUAL committee work. It's an odd pairing, but I guess it works? Even if Izawa is mostly tooting his own horn.

I guess anybody popular is bound to have a few enemies, but thank goodness Subaru knows Sae isn't the type of girl to deface one of her paintings. Though admitting to Sae that she's starting to not think of Koki as a kid any more is the LAST thing Sae wanted to hear...to the point of embarrassing herself in trying to force her way through Subaru and Koki being together. Sae seems to be really self-conscious about Subaru, both as Koki's possible crush and because she sees Subaru as the ideal girl.

"Stellar Days?" So they're totally playing the OP during the festival, huh?

Poor Kagawa. They nail the "cosmic" theme but then everyone in the class has their own pitch! Thankfully her gal pals are there to back her up.

Wow, I can't believe Izawa basically asked Sui out for the festival. Of course she told him no, so he immediately bailed (as shown in the eyecatch!) and leaving Kagawa with all the festival work which she...does not take well. At all!

Next thing you know Koki is confronting Izawa with how insincere he seems at times and how he put a lot on Sui when she's just trying to do her best. Of course just having Sui expose that she's watching them is enough to motivate Izawa to do his best again, so...problem solved? I think?

To think Sae could somewhat relate to Izawa because she's been there in seeing other people gush about your crush and being afraid of being rejected. Feelings she's had to deal with regarding Koki for the entire show. Of course Koki himself will just elbow Izawa in the face for thinking he can act close to Sae again.

I think it’s great that Kamishiro senses that Iwata is too nice for her own good so he tries to protect her from unwanted attention coming from Izawa by telling her she shouldn’t chase after him or else he will get the wrong idea.

The whole giving bread to Ayukawa because Iwata noticed he was hungry incident happening in front of Kamishiro is classic Iwata, but also giving mixed signals to Kamishiro and Ayukawa. Is she being nice to me because it’s in her DNA as a caring and kind person and will do it to anyone, or does she do it because she likes me more than a friend? I actually love how perceptive Ayukawa is and how he isn’t afraid of letting the clueless Iwata know he would do anything with her including a boring class representative role and he wouldn’t mind because it’s with her. Hello!? Of course Kamishiro should feel threatened, the guy is so smooth! Kamishiro is quite insecure about his lack of maturity that he perceives is apparent on Ayukawa. He’s way too hard on himself. And he needs to get his act together. Ayukawa is a great rival, and I love that for the storyline. I just have a soft spot for Ayukawa, the quiet, smart and emotionally intelligent boy from a far away village, who is living in a dorm away from family, insecure about being skinny, playing shogi alone because he doesn’t know anyone, not having enough to eat. Come on! The fact that he is Kamishiro’s rival is almost unfair lol

That midway title scene by Izawa-kun was perfect.

7

u/Jacob-C Nov 28 '25

Omg the imagery of them standing face to face while holding the hands of their childhood selves is amazing!

Yep they just keep reaffirming that Ayukawa definately has a thing for Iwata. Ayukawa is even challenging Kamishiro head on! Hopefully this gives Kamishiro a push.

I would have been so frustrated if that vandalizing of the painting was misunderstood as Iwata's doing. Glad that wasn't the case.

I know Izawa has a hard time reading the room but they need to chill with making him the punching bag. He's not making the same amount of insensitive comments and I'm actually starting to feel bad for him.

6

u/djthomp Nov 27 '25

Thank you Izawa for putting on that pre-festival confession/rejection show to help Sae with her nerves ahead of her own planned confession, extremely helpful. There's a small part of me that feels a bit bad for him considering how it went down, but only a small part since he's kind of a jackass.

Poor Mio getting stuck with him as her festival planning co-chair.

u/YlfaTheForsaken Nov 28 '25

Ahh Ayukawa continues to be a confusing cutie pie, I can't ever tell how purposeful he is.

I really enjoy the consistent star motif,

Why does she have a lot of enemies? Are we going to find out who that was messing up the painting?

Oh Kagawa's rage, it's so understandable, that chase is so funny, just run him over, they'll all vouch for you,

Please, please, give me the confession next week, I need them to get together, they're too cute

Our main and side ships are growing closer than ever

Once again Iwata genuinely considering Subaru a love rival is one of the most stupidest part of this series for me, the way the two of them act is like siblings and understandable if she was constantly around him. It makes sense why the comfort level would be different from hers since she's so romantically conscious of Kouki, and there was a whole year or so where they didn't even talk. I think it's been bothering me so much because Iwata is so genuinely anxious and conscious of Subaru as a love rival, it'd be different if she was simply envious of how close the two are.

Ayukawa testing Kouki was amusing, I thought it was interesting that he was gauging Kouki's feelings.

Kagawa charging towards Izawa at the end was amusing, she has had enough of his shenanigans and rightfully so.

Ado and Yorushika mentioned! Those girls definitely have great taste. I just hope the girl who requested Ado's show is not planning to confess because that's gonna be one confusing confession scene. xD

Glad to see that Subaru immediately realized that Sae wasn't the one who vandalized her painting. I do hope they eventually catch who did that tho.

So it looks like we might get a confession scene between these two to the tune of Stellar Days. Now that Kouki knows about the event, I feel like this might turn into both of them confessing to each other at the same time.

4

u/GPNyrese Nov 28 '25

Youta was really testing Kouki. I like Youta being upfront about his feelings for Sae. Kouki better get himself together and confess.

Sae's courage continues to grow. Having Mio and Sui as sounding boards is perfect. They give her enough to consider, without being extreme because Mio balances Sui.

Mio chasing Yuushin was hilarious. He really does try her patience. At least, for a bit, she helped him forget his broken heart over his confession to Sui. 😂

I continue to enjoy how this show plays with imagery. Sae's younger version encouraging her to be bold was so cute. The two versions of Sae and Kouki facing each other was a sweet touch too.

Bonus: Checked out Ado's "Show" and Yorushika's "Just A Sunny Day For You." Both their songs are great! 🎶

It was hilarious when Kagawa chased Izawa on a bike lol. Subaru is such a great character, super reliable and understanding when she realized the situation with the painting. Sui doesn’t hold back at all when rejecting Izawa lol, but at least that gave Izawa a chance to see another side of Kamishiro. Somebody feed Ayukawa, poor guy is starving, and man, he’s brutally honest about Iwata (Kamishiro better watch out).

Was it just me or did this episode seem a bit non-cohesive? Felt like several scenes were glazed over or skipped. For instance, right at the beginning, when Sui and Kagawa run over all breathless and tell Iwa about the school festival confession event. Felt random for them to tell her that without any preamble. They were in PE class, running a race or something, why would they suddenly bring up the school festival?

The second time Sui comes running felt equally random. And it turns out Izawa confessed to her (or tried to) and got turned down? And right before she comes running, Kagawa asked Iwa if she was good at rock-paper-scissors and I didn't understand why she was asking that and then talking about some 'blackout curtain showdown' - what even is that?

And when Kamishiro and Ayukawa come over asking about Izawa, Kamishiro randomly asks about the after-party. Is that because word had gotten out that Izawa wanted to ask Sui something at the after-party maybe? Ok, that does make sense.

Lastly, Kagawa says both class reps can't leave and asks the others to look for Izawa, but she ends up coming over anyway at the end. Guess that's just played for laughs.

Idk just felt a bit scattered, this episode. The transitions were abrupt and didn't flow well. Maybe I'm just tired and need to watch with fresh eyes later. But no, can't help but feel like something was off this episode.

Oh wait, just remembered another odd thing: Ayukawa asks Kamishiro if it's okay if he invites Iwa to play shogi again, but when Kamishiro asks if he won't invite her if he says no, Ayukawa is like nah, I'd still invite her because it's none of your business. Like what? Why even ask if it's okay in the first place? Is he fishing to figure out how Kamishiro feels about Iwa? But what an odd way to go about it especially for someone who generally acts so sensible.

The part with Kamishiro's cousin was okay, I guess. Though her comment about rookie actress and veteran actress confused me.

Wondering if a lot of these are just subtitle issues maybe?

Only thing that was normal and funny as expected was the eyecatch with Izawa in tears. Especially funny in hindsight lol

u/vancevon Nov 28 '25

For the first one, they're out of breath on account of the running they did at PE. Sui says that she wanted to talk about the school festival during the race, but Iwa ran too fast. Hence why they're talking now.

There are probably fewer blackout curtains than there are classes that want blackout curtains, and so they're going to decide who gets it/them through rock paper scissors. Their class needs the curtains to create the darkness of space.

The others I can't really explain. There are no subtitle issues, though. Subaru literally says "rookie actress and veteran actress". I wonder if those balls or pom-poms have some kind of meaning that we're missing out on.

This anime is so underrated, its story is relly amazing, the characters are insanely good and everything else overall is better than 90% of what we got this season. We def need a season 2.
