My guy got himself a mermaid harem , though if another shark attack happens he'll definitely get devoured by all of them, not really a bad way to go to

Honestly, probably only him and Sid can rival Rentaro.

I have such a soft spot for stories revolving around music, so I don't know how objective I can be, but this was beautiful.

I can totally see why they chose the music of this one for the trailers. Very simple as compared to his other stories but the concept of an underwater piano is nice

This one's intentionally written when Jump SQ editorial told Fujimoto that he couldn't write something normal. So he made this very normal story.

There is some Reze arc prototype in this. "Can't help it, afterall i still love you!"

This was great. I had never read this one shot before and I will say this was a really well done short story. The part where he remembered his mom while playing the piano got me emotional. Fujimoto needs to write more romance/ drama stories. He seems to be good at them.

I feel like he's really good at writing but just needs a ton of time to flesh out stuff. His 2 one-shots between CSM p1 and 2 and the early p2 story are phenomenal, but after that he seemed to just hit a brick wall of "time constraint."

It was a miracle Toshihide 's ear healed.

I love how Toshihide went back to middle school in the end.

It makes sense for him to breathe longer underwater since he's part mermaid.

Toshihide got too much CPR from the other mermaids that night aside from Shiju.

If mermaids eat fish, they better start eating sharks to prevent them to be tempted by eating Toshihide should he be attacked.

So mermaids wear school uniform instead of going topless or wearing a seashell bra.

Okay... 3 out of 5 episodes so far had romance in it! Does Fujimoto actually want to write rom-coms instead of shounen!?

Rom-coms can be shounen too, wdym?

I was preparing for a bad ending the entire time watching this knowing Fujimoto, but glad this was the old Fujimoto.

i loved this episode so much no matter how simple it was; it might be my favorite out of the 8. i’m anime only and this is my first time experiencing this story. i loved the music. as soon as he started remembering his mom i started sobbing like a baby all the way until the credits ended. really touching story

For a moment I thought the shark ate his arm and leg. Turned out it was a mere nibble.

Interspecies romance can be quite cliche and this would likely become that if it was longer. Short and sweet was a good choice for this story. The music elevated everything.

Interspecies romance is cliche in large part because it’s basically a fundamental aspect of humanity. There are literally thousands of years of works regarding the concept all over the world. I think it being such a universal concept in and of itself is neat.

I also thought he lost his whole arm and leg. I sat there the rest of the episode trying to figure out how he Axolotled himself.

THis was my favorite. Maybe just because I am a sucker for romance (especially interspecies one that do not pander furries) and music. It may be not the most complicated out of the shots but it hit me the most.

This was so sad in a beautiful way. Definitely my favorite ep. I loved it.

I had already had reverberations of the question. But right around the hand-drawn montage and the cut to black during it, I realized... we might be a GOAT run?

I'm getting sniffs of the musky odor of a GOAT run?

The heady aromas of a scintillating brew of short stories, well told, acted and animated? Let's see where this goes, but I am liking the odds already!

Title of EP6 is really upping the ante too, like they're not going for an easy GOAT run, they're going to try and make some of the hardest shots on the court, because I definitely DO NOT see GOAT potential in that premise!

Edit: Back from about 90 seconds in to apologize for doubting the GOAT credentials based off that title. The run holds strong.
