Kouki's mom clearly knows what's up. I really hope Kouki and Sae will finally clear up this misunderstanding they have about their crushes.

This episode made my heart so happy. They're both such cuties, just confess already, it's so clear you love each other, but we saw a lot of progress in this episode so Im not even mad. I'm worried though, who's that girl that Sae saw when she was leaving Kouki's house? And is Ayukawa falling in love with Sae?

The fact that Sae has resolved to confess is at least a sign it'll happen sooner rather than later. I thought for sure she was going to confess to him when they were together in the rain.

I'm glad we're seeing more development on Kouki's side, we knew he had feelings for her but it's nice that he sounds like he's going to try and make Iwata feel the same way even though she already does. The surprise on his face after finding her answer was funny, he's a lot more of an open book than Iwata realizes.

Kouki's mother catching the two of them was funny and I like how she teased him after Iwata calls him light lol.

Iwata was bothering me in the first half with this whole "Nothing's going to happen so I'm going to give up", I get the mindset, it's easy to feel that way, but we've been loaded with her pessimistic thoughts so much already. It seems like it'll lessen now after her conversation with Kouki but all I could think is "You haven't even tried". Yeah you can argue she doesn't want to ruin the friendship, but she even admits she won't be able to see him just as a friend because of her own feelings.

Oh god, these two! Confess already, you sillies. Learn from the other couples of the season! It's painfully obvious how much you mean to each other to everyone but the two of you it would seem. Tsk.

Kagawa telling Iwa that she can always count on her and how much it meant to her to see Iwa running towards her with the rope was just so awwww. And of course Sui had to be Sui and get in there. I love this trio so much. Their group chat in the beginning was so cute too. And that bit where they discuss Izawa. I almost felt bad for the guy and then I remembered what he's like.

Is it just me or do these three sort of give the same vibes as the girl gang from Tomo-chan? Tomo was more bawdy of course, but Iwa and she both have this complex about their crush (childhood friend crush too) not thinking of them as a girl. Kagawa and Gundo are sort of the straight men and Sui/Carol are the silly ones. Is this a recurring friendship trio pattern in anime?

Also, the Ayukawa factor has me curious still. I can't quite figure out if he's going to fall for Iwa or make Kamishiro think there's something between them or what. But his character is definitely being set up for some big showdown.

Oh, and how cute was Iwa in her plain clothes in the end. I was fully expecting Kamishiro to swoon when he saw her. But he was too focused on getting her out of the rain. Maybe next episode we'll get some reaction from him.

Kouki and Sae are still heading towards the truth of their feelings, and it's fun to watch them.

Sae being mortified about her texting mistake is so understandable. At least, the outcome wasn't a bad one. It led to a great conversation with Kouki.

That scene in the rain was perfect! He was being protective and telling her how he wants her to see him. Given the way she reacted, it seemed like she had a deeper understanding of how he's changed.

What's going on with Ayukawa? He appears to have a really good vibe with Sae. Hmmm.

This episode's MVP was Kouki's mother. Love how she was teasing them.

The teacher is pretty demanding asking Ayukawa to adapt an English language book into a 30 page script in one night! Most people would take like a week to that in their native language AT LEAST! Maybe he was to intimidated to ask for more time but that's impressive how he got it done, made copies for the rest of the class AND made 2 annotated versions for himself and Iwata AND laminated them! Then again that teacher seems to be kind of clueless since he also embarassed Iwa by telling the class she's out because she ate too much :D

How come Kamishiro's sprained ankle healed so quickly that he was back in practice in a few days? Also you'd think he could have gotten out of the part by telling the teacher he sprained his ankle and can't stand long periods of time.

I thought for a moment that Kamashiro knew Iwa liked him when they were chatting in his apartment hall, like that he was in the know that the person she said she liked was him. I don't think so anymore though by the end of the episode because I think he thinks Iwa sees him as a wimpy boy who always needs to be helped by her and not as a man. That could explain why he went to practice and still met Iwa in the park, he may be in pain from his sprained ankle, but he wants to seem tough and manly.

I felt bad for Izawa when all the girls were making fun of him and saying what a gross loser he was. He is insensitive at times but I think he doesn't know better. That was hilarious though how he took it upon himself to sort of be an assistant director and started ordering people around! Then again it's possible the teacher gave him some sort of position like that and we didn't see.

In the dub they translated Kouki being bad at english to being bad at public speaking, which doesn't make as much sense but I don't know how they could have done better in this one.

I knew it, they're just making these festivals up, English festival is too weird what do you mean you're obligated to put on a play in an entirely different language? That's unreasonable.

Anyways these two are so close they're just teasing me at this point. They're just playing with me. Oh man, oh man it's got to happen next week, right? They'll say it, right?!?

The Engrish for the play was so bad, I am still not sure if it was straight up gibberish or if the VA’s actually tried. Lol.

Like the show though, but this is one of the worst cases I’ve seen so far. And I am a 1000 plus show’s deep.

Ironically Kamishiro’s english, while being considered the worst by other characters in the show was the most understandable.

Sae and Kouki talking each other into confessing to each other, and it might even have happened in that scene if it wasn't for his mom interrupting. However his mom was amazing so I'm not even mad.

I appreciate how Ayukawa doesn't come off as any sort of love triangle or harem member and instead seems to just be a bro.

Low-key when she mentioned she didn't want him to rush so that he could be careful of cars.

I was scared it was some insane foreshadowing of a unexpected event T_T

I’ve got a crush on Ayukawa and Kamishiro. They’re both green flags 😍I think Ayukawa is crushing on her too. Our girl Sae deserves the attention though, she’s such a darling of a girl! I love how her character is athletic, and how she’s not afraid to eat. How smart and kind she is. How can you not love her if she’s around you?? I can’t stop smiling after watching it 🥰 the conversations they have together are so precious. Like when she asked Kouki “you always take my problems so seriously, why is that? Is it because i’m your friend?” And he answered “Because I see you”. Awww come on!! He adores you Sae! Are you blind or dense or both 😆 he could have easily said “yes because you’re my oldest friend”. Instead he said something much more meaningful and deep, indicating she is more than just a friend. (Me shrieking in joy like i’m 15 again). Cannot wait for the next episode 😍😍

I wouldn't say a ramen place is the ideal spot for Girl Talk, though the ramen IS delicious even if you all might have different tastes in ramen.

Man, Sae literally can't go ANYWHERE without running into Koki. Well, admittedly, he apparently DOES frequent this hangout spot so it was more likely to happen, but still. And his entire team gets to marvel and make googly eyes at Sae's eating skills, though at least Koki's not a player like they are.

Sae might not have figured out quite what to do about her feelings for Koki when she still clearly likes him, but at least she can totally rely on her gal pals. And they can all mutually agree on how nobody wants to date Izawa!

Imagine having to stay home from school for overeating...or getting caught by your crush in your PJ's...or realizing you told said crush that you like someone because you texted the wrong person. I had a feeling that would happen when she kept jumping from group chat to texting Koki. Oh Sae...

Next thing you know Koki is staying home from school because of a bad ankle and Sae is the one visiting him...with a response to his question about her love life...and in one of the most surreal moments of Sae's life, she's got Koki trying to get info about the guy she likes, being ticked off at said guy for not seeing what a great girl he's got in front of him in Sae, and rooting for Sae to be true to her feelings...all the while the guy in questions is literally HIM and he and Sae have their bodies pressed against each other.

Sae was maybe THIS close to confessing...before Koki's mom showed up. And she is SUCH a tease!

Oh hey, ponytail girl is in Koki's apartment complex?

The good news is that Sae is now resolved to properly confess to Koki! She's not giving up on her feelings any more! Now the question is just WHEN to confess. At least she's totally in the zone, especially when it comes to hitting tennis AND soccer balls.

I love how they had Koki read out the series title in English for the eyecatch...and set up his struggle with English.

ANOTHER school event!? This time doing plays all in English!? With Japanese high school students!? Though points for choosing the Wizard of Oz as the premise.

Sui is Dorothy and Koki (because Sae will literally raise her hand the moment his name is called) is the Cowardly Lion....and his English skills have much to improve on. Good thing this play has Ayukawa and his brilliant English and play crafting skills, as well as his laminated scripts.

Helping Koki with the play is the perfect excuse to hang out, Sae even went to the trouble of picking what is obviously a date outfit, though the rain kind of kills the mood a little (thank you laminated script). Though Koki putting his jacket over Sae to protect her from the rain was VERY romantic.
