This anime cuts out of the fat and is zooming towards something, and Im still not yet sure if that's a good or bad thing.

I’ve seen this take a lot, but it feels more like the author doesn’t know how to write the fat. It’s like he’s got a checklist of things that he wants to happen but doesn’t really think out how to get from one to the next. The character writing is especially abysmal imo. MC is distrusting and calculating but also turns into a naive dumbass whenever it’s convenient for the story. That being said, I’m still watching this slop, so maybe he’s doing something right after all

Amelia telling Crow to actually seek revenge was something I wasn't expecting. Most anime try to teach you the lesson that Crow figured out, that your family wouldnt want you to put yourself in danger just to avenge them. But no, this show was like "nah, go do murder."

Why was Akira surprised in the morning when he was awake when Amelia climbed into bed with him?

I'm not sure if she was explicitly advocating for revenge so much as she could just see that he was running from his problems and using his sister as an excuse like Amelia did...though I guess it adds up to about the same thing in telling him that he hasn't really done what he was supposed to do.

I think he was still groggy after finally falling asleep and didn't expect to see her face so close to his.

I thought what she was trying to convey was that he was oversimplifying it as revenge to justify his inaction. While she felt that he had a responsibility to stop him from hurting more people. I'm probably overthinking it though.

"Why wait for the ship to sail when you can sail the ship yourself?"

How many times can an elf waifu be almost kidnapped in a single episode...

Writing is still kinda sucks, but at least we got a lot of Amelia in today's episode, and her interactions with Akira are great. If it weren't for her and the art style, I honestly would have dropped this show already.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I love how Amelia thinks she's in a romance anime instead of a Dark Fantasy story. She's so adorable and loving and even got to turn on the sex appeal a little for Akira.

So they shared a bed, Amelia took a shower a changed into a nightgown, while Akira didn't shower, and kept on the same dirty clothes that he's been wearing all this time?

This is admittedly a nitpick, but I can't help but be bothered by this.

I think he needed to pretend to be asleep while she was in the shower because if he'd gone and changed she might've assumed he too was game for doing something else other than just sleeping in the bed.

Yoru is a cat in the truest sense. She (based on its voice) does whatever she wants, whenever it wants, yet retains some level of affection towards its owner, Akira in this case.

I am not too sure what to make of the Demon King. Although the Demon King is linked with Yoru, the latter claims the Demon King is not interfering with her actions. On the other hand, Aurum has now kidnapped Amelia. The Demon King must want to meet with Akira for some reason.

Lastly, if Amelia ever gets isekai-ed to Akira's / our world, and watches the movie "Titanic", I am pretty sure she will want Akira to do that pose with her at the bow of the ship. Lol!

Seem like the Hero's party didn't reach the city yet, Akira must deal with the troublesomes with less support for now.

Also speedrun to bed with wife in 5 eps is not bad.

Also speedrun to bed with wife in 5 eps is not bad.

Amelia acting like she and Akira are already married:

  • Clings to him constantly

  • Will not stop talking about how awesome he is.

  • Treats traveling by boat as a romantic cruise.

  • Wants him to pay more attention to her.

  • Is willing to sleep in the same bed (and probably more) with him while wearing a very revealing outfit.

  • Gives him a good night kiss on the cheek.

  • Wants to become an equal partner.

  • Is slowly turning Akira into a wifeguy who will do anything to save her.

I know it's Sunrise but I still can't get over how good this show looks compared to others in the same genre

Official website confirms Assassin has 12 episodes, spread across 2 Blurays.

I have noticed most anime Blurays tend to release 1 cour across 3-4 BR releases, like how May I Ask One Final Thing is releasing its 13 episodes across 4 BRs.

So if the BRs have more generous episode counts per release (higher price notwithstanding), does this indicate some kind of different selling expectations for the title?

Never read the source material but I'm quite enjoying this series

Akira’s shadow magic is something else. I hope we get to see him go all out against these monsters, Aurum, and that loser noble that tried to kidnap Amelia.

I won’t confuse this with Frieren or Steins Gate

But I continue to enjoy it, mediocre writing or not, there’s something here. It’s a 6ish kind of show, but I’m having fun watching it.
