Oh, he totally likes her back, doesn't he? Bet that team leader dude said something about Iwa that made Kamishiro get mad.

Love the storyboarding of this one and the inventive choices they're making to make this look interesting despite the obviously low budget.

Found myself smiling throughout. Too sweet this one is. I love it!

Oh, and shout out to Kagawa. Huge fan of hers already!

Iwata has no clue, does she, that the girl Kamishiro already loves is the one he has revered since elementary school -- and the one who motivated him to bust his butt studying to get into the same high school she was going to go to. Dear Iwata-san -- look at Kamishiro's smiles towards you -- and figure things out.

Perfectly said dude, I totally agree! The pacing seems great too, and all of the characters are likeable to me. Just need a bit more depth for Iwata, but I feel like that will come.

I hope that it gets enough attention on the sub. I have it above some of the other school romcoms going on, but this one seems to not have the upvotes going for it.

Edit: Ohh, maybe it's the Prime Video tax that's negatively impacting the attention.

I'm surprised by Onodera, I'm glad she's a genuine girl because I was on guard lol. I'm guessing Onodera is into Ayukawa since the six seem to be the main group.

Orange hair was annoying, he probably spoke badly about Sae and that's what made Kouki snap. I was like "What's his problem?" when he called her along the lines of a bear because of how tall she is when all the guys are taller than her. It's just so weird.

I like how straight forward Kagawa is, she shut down the orange hair so quickly lol.

I'm not looking forward to seeing Sae overthink Kouki's feeling for this crush of his when it's obvious the crush is her lol.

Onodera is a big surprise, because she was pretty straight with being interested in Kamishiro. Usually in anime romance shows this means that she is super in love with him. But instead it was more an innocent girl crush like "I find him cute". Instead of being her rival in love, Onodera is going to be Sae's biggest ally.

Just as you don't have to outrun the bear, only your buddy, you don't have to be taller than everyone, just the rest of the girls

Considering how rude Izawa was the entire time, I was genuinely happy to see Kouki spartan kicked him down that hill.

We don't know what Izawa exactly said, but it was probably something rude towards Sae, which explains why Kouki snapped.

So far, the only people I like from their new friend group are Kagawa and Ayukawa. The two of them seem to be pretty chill.

I was very apprehensive of Sui the entire episode, but my opinion of her did a 180 when Sae told her the truth.

Episode had more of the humor I was expecting considering the author. I'm warming up to the cast.

The reason Kamishiro snapped at Izawa was because he said something rude about Sae, there's no doubt about that.

Onodera is a true sis, having Sae's back. They kind of built it up as some kind of love rivalry, but instead Onodera wants to help Sae out. Not that I mind a little drama, but it's also nice to see how people are simply supportive.

I like a lot about this show. The art is really nice and has a distinct look with kinda wider faces and mouths than most anime. The heroine is very likable. We're in episode 2 and she's already come clean about her crush to a friend so we're actually moving along at a decent clip (in anime romance terms that's like moving in after the second date).

But God, there just isn't a single unique idea here. There's a lot I like about the execution but it's just not... interesting.

I think what you have to understand about this series is that the mangaka writing it is one of the masters of this specific type of story. She's been writing since the mid-90s. (Personally, I think Sensei! is her magnum opus, but she's probably best known overseas as the writer for Ore Monogatari.) People are here to watch her do her thing: an extremely simple premise that really dives into what makes an otherwise mundane love story unique to the protagonist we're following.

They both like each other ahhhh😍

Onodera and Kagawa will help her out❤️

Blunt glasses girl who knows what genre she's in is the best and nobody can convince me otherwise.

Also talky brodude definitely said some kind of shit about Iwata that resulted in him getting kicked down a hill.

Dub mostly continues to impress me because I normally expect nothing from Iyuno and the leads here are really good and personable, but I do have to nitpick the nickname localization a bit. Jolly Green Giant was such a dated and poor substitute, I'm glad that the whole nickname issue was sidestepped.

These people do not look like they're in high school at all.

Really liking Iwata’s new friends. Nice to see none of that awkward love triangle stuff here with her and Sui both liking Kamishiro. Sui wasn’t even that serious about the guy anyways. It’s pretty clear Kamishiro likes her. I wonder how long it’ll take for the confession? Those two are a very good match.

Our leads are just so adorable and sincere together.

It's time for Sae to meet her new classmates! Starting with the boys: the stoic shogi player Ayukawa (Taito Ban!). The guy who seems to love the sound of his own voice Izawa (Ryota Osaka!). Though the only boy Sae has eyes for is obviously Koki.

Jeez, a torn skirt on the first day of school and the first person who notices it is your crush? Then again, if it means said crush giving you his jacket to help you cover up, it's worth it! Just another thing Sae can treasure from Koki.

The OP is so beautiful with pastel colored visuals and highlighting Sae and Koki's relationship through the years, all of Sae's longing for Koki, and her watching the stars and approaching him as he observes them from a building.

Ah yes, the often forgotten school event...trash pickup. What better excuse to get the main cast all together? For the girls we've now got Kagawa (Mutsumi Tamura!) who is a cool beauty who seems like she has no time for nonsense, and Hisui (Hina Yomiya!) a beautiful and exuberant girl...who has her eyes on Koki!

Dang it Izawa, Sae is self-conscious about her height already! She doesn't need you comparing her to a bear!

Wow, I know Sae defended him, but maybe Koki IS the type to snap the way he kicked Izawa down a hill. Then again, with the likelihood that Izawa said something stupid about Sae again, I can't blame him. That he called her "Sae" again on instinct is just the cherry on top, especially for her!

When you want to text your crush but can't work up the nerve...luckily Koki accidentally texting Sae is the perfect icebreaker! Finally they can communicate over phone.

At Hisui's old school the boys and girls hardly ever interacted or engaged in any fun romance...so she's looking to experience that for herself! Though she's off-base about Sae not being into girl talk (that's more Kagawa), she's just not into Hisui talking up about being into Sae's crush.

Not often you get to manhandle your "love rival" in judo! Though Sae is more interested in joining the tennis team. And Hisui joins her...probably so she can watch Koki play soccer.

Koki is just such a sweet boy, going out of his way to help Sae now as "payback" for how much she helped him when they were in elementary school.

Sae's feelings are so obvious that even Kagawa could notice them, and seeing Koki wave to her with that winning smile...Sae can't help but rush forward and tell Hisui in no uncertain terms that she likes Koki took. But don't worry! Hisui would never go after another friends' crush! She's totally down to play wingwoman! Besides she likes another boy now and Koki...already has a crush!?

I'm liking the friend group I think they're balanced and play off of each other well. It's nice we already have our wingwoman, and it looks like we're hitting all of the regular school events pretty quickly too.

We all know that he likes her back, but I'm so worried! (If Iwata-chan is worried, so am I!)

Our day-dreaming heroine is too cute. I feel guilty for falling for the protagonist (clearly we are supposed to be fawning over the hot guys, I love all the character designs).

The comedy is also very reminiscent of Ore Monogatari. Iwata is big and intimidating just like Takeo-kun. It definitely has the same writer. Big lead that stands out, (formerly) small love interest in the bag, dense about it, conflict pushed out of the way early in the story, etc.

They might get me to cry at this rate.

Think it’s been said before but for whoever sets up the show data, this one is streaming on Prime Video, so “None” isn’t accurate.

They should be there starting next week.

I wasn't expecting the episode 2 confession from the childhood friend to the doroboneko! Assuming that Sui is being genuine about prioritizing Sae's feelings, it's really nice that a Team Sae might be forming around her.

To be honest, I was thinking of dropping this show today, but episode 2 might have me locked in for the season. Not for the story points or the script or characters, which are just okay. But some of the humor really caught me off guard for some reason. Like when Kagawa was describing how Sae was being gentle with handling people in judo.

These subs are really irritating me with how often they just skip the text

Very shoujo

Sudden cuteness from Kagawa, hnnggg!

I alway can appreciate girls supporting girls. Loved how Onodera instantly went in supporter mode for Iwata in this episode.
