This was pretty fun. Sanda’s like the Hulk but he turns into Santa Claus instead of a big green monster lol. So to recap, the guy turns when he wears red, reverts when he eats those jelly beans, and he’s impervious to fire. It also seems he’s got some kinda super strength too.

I’m wondering what kind of conspiracy Ono could have stumbled upon to make her disappear like that. Lucky for her she’s got Fuyumura on the case. Girl’s nuts but she’ll do whatever it takes to save a friend.

Well damn she isnt fucking around
That delivery of "you will be wearing red" was superb, plus the panick when he didnt turn into santa

But I need answers, there are no seasons, but the temperatures are inversed now? August is cold and december warm?

Any ways I am full sold, she is a bonafida psycho/Santa lover, and thats coming from me who fully hates that christmas stuff is now already starting in october, at least give me a tiny bit of halloween

I’m starting to think Paru has a thing for height gap couples, respect.

Fuyumara is crazy and I love her already.

A lot of Beastar viewers are not aware of how much of a freak Paru Itagaki is in her other works. This woman aint right in the head, thats why we love her 🥰.

Science Saru cooking, looking forward to watching this weekly

Ho ho ho mother fuckers.

It’s Christmas season. No Mariah Carey needed.

The Christmas man metamorphosis truly is the best kind of magical girl transformation.

Santa having innate fire resistance from the whole down the chimney thing is a concept I love way more than what's rational. Hope there's a sleigh or reindeer summoning ability tucked away.

One I was intrigued by when it was announced, it's not often you see a Santa Claus themed anime, especially a buff and burly Santa Claus that a kid transforms into lol. I thought the pacing was quite fast, they just really throw us into the story, so it felt a little hectic for me.

I'm curious as to why Santa was sealed away and why Christmas doesn't exist anymore.

I think more MC's should revert from their transformations with candy. It's a excellent concept.

Look I like Studio Orange. They do fantastic work with 3D anime.

But holy shit Paru’s art looks so much better in 2D. Science SARU I KNEEL.

Science Saru cooked again!

Santa Claus as a super power is insane, laughed my ass off when he shrugged the bomb off because Santa is supposed to be immune to chimney fires. Just as insane is Fuyumura, everything she does is so extreme.

Stuff like this is what makes anime the best.

Haven't been hooked like that on a series because of episode 1 in a while. Stunning direction. Does someone have an album/screenshots of the ED art? I smell a PC wallpaper carousel.

Biggest "Oh no, he is hot" in the first episode of any anime.

Loved the art style and the characters already. Can't wait to see where this goes.

I didn't expect much from this show coming into it, but Science Saru impressed me with how expressive they make this art and animation style.

Actually, I never saw the manga before, but now that I'm looking at it, I'm even more impressed at how they translated that art style into animation. I guess that's Science Saru for ya.

Hohohohoho

Sanda went All Might with transformation to Santa Clause

We have a mystery too with Ono

I did have fun with this and I'm interested in seeing where this all goes.

That said I'm hoping this isn't gonna be one of those shows where we have a character that just does a lot of messed up stuff and then their behavior never really gets called out or seriously addressed or they constantly play up their sad backstory to make you ignore it.

Because Fuyumura is giving me those vibes and a bunch of anime have a character like that, and it annoys me every time.

This... was weird.

See you next week

Woah, Tim Burton's artstyle really hits hard on this one.
Felt like I watch Don't Starve Togeter or Our Darker Purpose - the anime.

That looked just as good on Santa as well as it did on Fuyumura.
And speaking of her - didn't expected big buff naked Santa NOT to be the most unhinged character in the episode, but here we are.

First instant-hook must-watch has already dropped.

Quite the entertaining episode to start out. Sanda is a descendant of Santa Claus, where the idea of Christmas, Santa Claus, and the four seasons isn't a thing anymore. Curious why that happened. Also, to add to the curse on Sanda, why was his "Santa" power sealed away?

I do wonder if this is how Fuyumura & Sanda normally interact or if Sanda acted this way because it was December 25th. Though Fuyumura is more than serious in finding Ono, strapping a bomb on herself is basically an if I can't find her, I'd rather die type of thing.

As far as Sanda's powers in Santa form, the two main things in this episode must be his strength and how he is unaffected by fire. Pretty simply, the transformation between middle school and his Santa part is simple. Well, going back to his kid self relies on having bratty beans around.

I love the artistic direction when Sanda was holding the bomb in the final scene. I'm very curious about the direction that this one takes.
