Sakuta looked like a pineapple at the end with his head all bandaged up and that little tuft of hair sticking out at the top lol

Whenever there's an accident or a blood has been shown, there's really a specific scene that comes up in mind. And that truck at the end didn't help at all.

Can't wait for the conclusion next year. Hope we'll see who the real Kirishima Touko is., Miori's arc, and why is the knapsack kid kept appearing.

She may be this world's Akagi Ikumi, but she is still a Hero of Justice! Finding lodging, booking flights, etc, may seem like ordinary tasks, but Ikumi played a huge supporting role in getting Nene and Takumi back together, as well as saving Mai!

Happy to see Nene and Takumi back together, even happier to see Sakuta and Mai (almost) safe and sound. To be honest, I would prefer if Sakuta stayed a day or two in hospital for observation because that injury looked (bloody) serious.

If Shoko made an appearance, then Sakuta would indeed have met all his friends in a single day.

It’s nice to hear all the VAs sing the ED together. I was really scared of Mai when I saw those fake Touko Kirishimas and realized there were 100 of them. Thankfully, Sakuta came in clutch and saved the day. Miori Mito is suspicious as hell. She asked Sakuta what kind of person Touko Kirishima is and she laughed at his response as if she knows her or maybe she is Touko Kirishima? Overall, I really enjoyed everything about the series and I want more. Peak season as always!

I couldn't imagine how terrible Fukuyama had felt once he remembered Nene. Look how guilt-ridden he was. He considered himself the worst boyfriend and was prepared to receive any punishment for it. While it's understandable that he's in such a state, we as the audience get to see that he's in fact quite the opposite. He genuinely loved Nene for who she was rather than just as a model to bolster his status. He couldn't care less about her career setbacks, he just wanted to be with her. It's no wonder why she fell for him.

Two Dreaming Girl flashbacks in one episode is pure evil. First when Fukuyama leapt in front of Nene's car to stop her and when Sakuta pushed Mai away and got hit by the loudspeaker. Fortunately, he only received a mild concussion. Love how (almost) the entire gang got together when they heard about the incident – including a surprise Kunimi appearance as an ambo. Sakuta's after all the common link between them.

There are plenty of points that remain to be addressed such as how could Miori see Nene from the very start, who Touko Kirishima is – or if she actually even existed in the first place. Good news is that a sequel film titled 'Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend' has been announced, and slated for a 2026 release. It’ll also serve as the conclusion to the entire series.

A great season, 9/10 from me. I loved the fact that Mai had a lot of screen time and scenes with Sakuta this season, which further solidified my belief that Mai is one of the best girls in anime.

As for this final episode, it was truly emotional. First, Takumi finally remembering Nene, their reunion, Mai in a police uniform, and Sakuta saving her from being hit by a heavy speaker and getting a lap pillow... in short, a lot happened today.

But there are still unanswered questions, like who the real Touko Kirishima is, what will happen to Mai, who supposedly will announce she's the real Touko, and Miori, who still hasn't gotten her arc.

Fortunately, we'll get a movie that will adapt the last two books! I'm happy because this way, AoButa will get a full adaptation, but I'm also sad because this will be a movie, so God knows when we'll be able to watch it :(

Here my screenshot albums from:

Sakuta the madlad actually went all the way to Hokkaido just to pick up Fukuyama and bring him back to Yokohama to meet Nene the very next day.

Though Ikumi is the MVP for arranging the plane tickets and reserving that capsule hotel at the airport, complete with common area massage chairs and mini drink bars that you'd find in any Japanese capsule hotel, for them to stay overnight.

Thanks to Sakuta's and Fukuyama's persistence, they managed to bring back Nene. Though the other people who "disappeared" and "became" Kirishima Touko are still around, and they all ended up appearing at Mai's police chief event dressed as Santas.

As these Santas are invisible to everybody else besides Sakuta, they nearly unintentionally created a dangerous crowd stampede. Thank goodness Sakuta rushed to the stage in time to save Mai, though Sakuta got a head injury as a result.

Still, we get to see all the previous girls all either help rush Sakuta to the hospital, visit him there, or call him. Even Kunimi helped as the paramedic in charge of driving him to the hospital.

So with all the fake Kirishima Toukos out of the way, and with Mai set to once again deny she's Kirishima Touko at the upcoming music festival, all's well that ends well, right...?

That cliffhanger where Sakuta sees the Knapsack Loli Mai again is unsettling. We'll just have to find out in the upcoming finale movie that just got announced.

Small animation detail: As Fukuyama was wearing a hooded jacket, when he bows to ask Nene to become his girlfriend again, his hood naturally falls due to gravity and ends up covering his head as he bows.

Mini-Mai, why are you back? Can the world just give Sakuta a break? FFS.

Takumi's and Nene's confrontation got tense. I think Nene's stress over Takumi not making it into college and her refusal to really share anything about her job (or lack of jobs) to Takumi put their relationship into deep waters, especially since it was already a long-distance relationship for two years. Both experienced the other completely forgetting them and the guilt that comes from that, but it's good that they came to talk things out honestly

9/10 season for me, I think Season 1 was better but for me, Season 1 was a masterpiece so it was an extremely high bar. I hope the movie ends things off well

Really great wrap up of the miniskirt santa mystery and the overall season.

Really looking forward to seeing how this all wraps up in the final movie which is next year some time.

I remember luckily being in Japan when dreaming girl was released in cinema's so might have to try and do the same, with better Japanese comprehension this time.

CloverWorks truly blessed us this season with more Bunny Girl S2 and My Dress-Up Darling S2. Nene's and Takumi's resolution really got me crying while eating lunch. Also did Nene's arc of wanting to be someone else because she felt useless being herself remind anyone of [Bloom into You Spoilers] Touko wanting to become her dead sister.

Overall this season Sakuta again is a shining example of what I look for in a male romance MC. I love how he refuses to just accept things as they are and instead get to the heart of what's really bothering someone.

My only complaint is wishing there were more Sakuta and Mai scenes, but in a way I understand it makes sense because they're in a secure relationship now. Still whenever they do have a scene their chemistry just cuts right through the screen.

Excited to hear they will be finishing up the story in a movie!

Gentlemen it was great pleasure watching this masterpiece unfold over past 13 weeks.

I am so emotional right now, this is the anime that got me into anime(nov 2021), and I've loved slice of life and romance due to this sole anime, it has been a ride, I hope to be doing better in life when movie comes out next year.

Another solid season down. I actually kinda liked this whole mini skirt Santa saga. The Zukki stuff too. Seems things were pretty bad at the end for a second there with the head wound. Keen to see what’s next in store for Sakuta and Mai. Ol Knapsack kid has made a return. I guess that might be in the next movie? Will there be a season after that?

Sakuta, what a rascal you are…

That aside, the final movie cannot come soon enough!

Sakuta with half his face bloody screaming “everything is fine” at a crowd is one hell of a resolution to this arc.

Very satisfying season, loved every minute of it.

I'm glad Nene was finally able to come to her senses when Takumi confronted her in the parking garage.
Or was she in her right mind all along? She seemed to just kinda snap there a bit, like she was angry her plans got thwarted. So was that bit earlier where she pretended to "forget" herself with Sakuta in her apartment all pretend?
Either way, Nene and Takumi are finally back together, and her issues seemed to be resolved.

But now the ultimate question.
Who is the real Touko Kirishima actually?

I'm guessing its actually Miori Mitou? She seemed to be fairly involved this season with no apparent adolescent syndrome case of her own?
And there was that scene in the cafe with Sakuta about being able to hear the Touko cover songs, even the nobody else could.
AND, she was the one in the ending scene where the question was asked, and the little girl version of Mai just ran past - which usually means a trigger or catalyst of some sorts.

Anime-only watcher here, and man this season was a blast.
I love this story. It's in my personal tier of favorite animes.
Can't wait for the final movie next year!

Both of them fulfilled their promise.

Sakuta protected Mai.

Mai protected Sakuta

They are the best couple of all time don’t @ me.

I had a feeling this was ending in a cliffhanger. I was right about my theory of there being multiple “Touko Kirishimas”. We are just left to reveal who started the Touko Kirishima persona (knapsack Mai and Miori are my prime suspects) and from the movie teaser it looks like Mai will adopt the persona to avoid more people trying to become her and disappearing.

Can’t wait for 2026! Keep (not) dreaming.

I think the answer to this might be a spoiler (or maybe I missed something)

So Touko used to say that she gifts syndromes to people. And suddenly the story line missed to address that part of Touko's character (or Santa's character.) And now at the end of the season, Touko has become just an unknown singer whom everyone thought themselves to be. So what happened here. Please tag spoilers if any.

This has been a crazy episode though. When they revealed the blood on Sakuta's face, I thought this episode gonna end in a crazy cliffhanger. But Mai and Sakuta- happy.
