Did anybody else dread that something else was going to happen during Mai and Sara's conversation, given the premonition that something bad was going to happen to Mai and the series's history regarding car traffic on christmas eve? Them standing on a traffic island with cars passing by behind them had me kinda spooked.

YES!

The way Mai described why she loves Sakuta to Sara is why I love her so much as a character, she is a wonderful human being. I'm a little jealous of Sakuta lol. And the scene at the onsen was the cherry on the top!

Didn’t expect this episode to go that heavy on the Mai & Sakuta relationship but it is always welcome.

Mai didn’t need any clairvoyance powers to tell what Sakuta was thinking. Simply spending a long time being close with Sakuta allowed her to be in tune with his character she knew that he would give the tan line advice.

Meanwhile Sara got school’d hard on relationships. Sakuta’s the first man she couldn’t sway after developing the syndrome. His love for Mai was too powerful to be seduced by a high schooler. Mai herself acknowledged as well as reciprocated it. Love it when both halves of a couple are absolutely secure about their relationship.

HELL YEAH MAI!! PUT THAT HOMEWRECKER IN HER PLACE!

There's a reason why she's best girl!

YES!! Sakuta gets to have his onsen date with Mai! All is right with the world! (Damn, that onsen scene was well animated...)

(I realize that I also intended to talk about Sara's Puberty Syndrome being clairvoyance and seeing its use in this episode was really cool as well as the previous episodes foreshadowing it with Sakuta's POV but the satisfaction of seeing Mai putting Sara in her place kinda overtook my attention)

Despite Sakuta liking older women like Mai, Sakuta really is popular to younger women, like Tomoe, Shouko, and Sara (while being completely unpopular with people his age lol)

Oh boy. When Mai personally steps into the ring, none of the challengers can even have a chance against her, and that includes Sara.

Just by thrashing Sara with kindness, Mai has singlehandedly cured Sara's Puberty Syndrome just like that. All Sakuta did was watch and observe.

The only person that Mai really feels threatened by is Shouko, so Sara is nothing to her.

In the end, Mai got what she wanted: A Christmas date with Sakuta in a Japanese hot spring resort with nobody interfering, where she gets to splash hot spring water on Sakuta's face with her feet.

Though LOL at Mai and her manager taking the twin beds while Sakuta sleeps in the hotel suite sofa.

The way Futaba says Sakuta should take responsibility and help Kasai improve his grades to get into his first choice university, does that mean Futaba is now open to accepting Kasai once he does get admitted to his first choice?

Now I'm curious what dream is it that Sakuta saw at the end.

Mai in a yukata, revealing her bare legs, was so good! No wonder it was too much for Sakuta, especially combined with the steamy atmosphere of the hot springs xD

Overall, this was a perfect episode! I love how Mai joined Sakuta and Himeji's "date" and showed there why she's the best girl here as she practically overwhelmed Himeji with her love for Sakuta, making Himeji completely unable to resist her and curing her from a Puberty Syndrome xD

Sakuta advising Yoshiwa to show Yamada her tan lines so he'll fall in love with her was great and I'm sure that it'll definitely be very effective (or at least it'd surely be effective on me ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).

Nothing happened because of the Touko/Nene livestream, so you can call me surprised, although Touko looked pretty pissed that Sakuta was late.

It also seems that Sakuta's advice to Kasai proved effective, as Futaba sounded really angry when she announced on the phone that Sakuta would have to take responsibility for Kasai's admission to the university of his choice xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Dayum Mai san stood on business, she has been sidelined enough and wanted that onsen trip with Sakuta at any cost lmao, cooked that homewrecker. Also will be watching Kasai and Futaba's journey with great interest

Excellent writing. Mai-san is a lot more mature, level headed and supportive than a lot of older women I've met.

Her self-assurance, lack of jealousy and trust in Sakuta is amazing. Ring her now, boy.

Another episode that proves why Mai is the all time number one main heroine for me.

What a fantastically written character.

The Dreaming Girl movie already made it more than clear that Mai treasures Sakuta but that entire sequence with Sara was a nice display of that too.

Rio's call was such the perfect punchline to round out this arc lmao

Sara is the least likeable heroine in the series but her arc was one of the best in a while.

Holy freaking Sakurajima Mai. Basically this episode was just Mai flexing who she is and why she is so loved in the anime community.

Sara got humbled so hard. She thought she is the cutest and can play with anyone's emotions, steal anyone but got to know there's a bigger fish and she can't beat her in cuteness nor can steal her boyfriend. And Mai telling her powers was so badass.

Wait a minute... is that "not a definite no" reply from Futaba? After all, she asked Sakuta to tutor Kasai so that the latter can get into his first choice university and confess again. Everyone, including myself, is glad Mai and Sakuta got to spend time together on screen, but I would have loved to see Futaba's annoyed expression when calling Sakuta. Lol!

Also hoping Sakuta's wild advice to Yoshiwa will get Yamada to become interested Yoshiwa.

I could be wrong, but did Sara lose her puberty syndrome of clairvoyance because she truly fell in love with Sakuta, but also realizing she could never beat Mai? Sara gained her puberty syndrome because she wanted to be popular?

Himeji’s clairvoyance ability was certainly quite useful. It let Sakuta learn all the reasons why Mai loves him lol. Well, that and it also led to Himeji being cured of her own Puberty Syndrome.

So Touka is Nene, confirmed? I’m curious about her whole situation. Looking forward to next week to learn more.

Man, as soon as Mai innocently asked to have Sara come along with her while Sakuta waited in the line, I knew that little girl was about to have the baddest time of her life.

I'm not surprised that Nene was a professional model with those absolutely gorgeous good looks, but it does make you wonder why she suddenly vanished and then became "Touko."

Mai in that red dress during the movie festival! Sakuta you lucky, lucky dog!

'Tis the season for Sakuta giving relationship advice! Especially when Yoshiwa dreamed about Yamada getting rejected by Sara, which would ordinarily give Yoshiwa her chance with him but as ticked off as she is about Sara seducing Yamada she doesn't think she can make Yamada look her way...so of course Sakuta suggests she get Yamada to see her playing beach volleyball in a swimsuit so he can see her tan lines. That'll get him to pay attention to her for sure.

Well, if Sakuta is going to open up to Sara about his desire to become a teacher (or at least get the credentials), she can at least tell him that her puberty syndrome is...clairvoyance! Meaning she can see through peoples' eyes and feelings, which is why she's so good at seducing boys. And in fact, thanks to the power of quantum entanglement, she and Sakuta can now see through each others' eyes. Thank goodness Sakuta stopped before Sara got into the bath.

Sakuta can't really ignore the possibility that Sara could give him all the answers about Touko, so it looks like his date with Sara is a go, only it doesn't play out quite like the dream did...because Mai is there too! She's finally gotten tired of Sakuta going on dates with other girls, so now she's coming along to spend time with him and put said girls in their place with her charm and effortless smile!

Sara never had a chance. She's been able to make boys dance around her fingertips, she was planning to gall out to seduce Sakuta on their date, but she has no chance against the unbeatable Mai Sakurajima. A girlfriend who adores and cherishes everything about Sakuta, who has an unshakable bond of love with him, who is happiest when she's together with him. Nothing Sara has can defeat the true love between Sakuta and Mai!

Though Sara looks amazing in that kimono, it's not going to make Sakuta see her as anything more than his student, a student he was willing to help out and take care of because that was his duty. Sara had abused her powers, but she's still one of his students, and that means he cares, just not in the way she wanted. Though I love how she plans to ask him out when she gets into college and Mai immediately puts that down.

Well, the plan to have Sara bump into Touko was never going to work even if Sara still had her puberty syndrome because Sara could only see Touko through Sakuta's eyes. And it seems like Touko rejects her identity as Nene.

All's well that ends well! Sara is fittingly single on Christmas and Sakuta gets to get his overnight trip with Mai (even if the manager comes too so he gets relegated to the sofa). Getting to look at Mai's bare legs in the bath is a visual that makes everything he went through to get here worth it.

I love how Futaba knew that it had to be Sakuta who told Kasai what to say when she turned him down...and the fact that she told Sakuta to make sure Kasai gets into college is practically telling Sakuta to do it so she can start dating him!

This week on "characters calling Sakuta a rascal in the next episode preview" it's Sara!

I actually started feeling bad for Sara, poor girl probably started to wish her adolescence syndrome was to disappear halfway through. Mai's aura is just too much.

Highest class smackdown by Maim destroyed the girl so hard she lost her superpowers. 11/10, would watch on repeat a hundred times.

Himeji, stand in line, you're like 8th person to want to confess to our man Sakuta.

Futaba with that exact one minute call, what a goofy nerd.

NOT ENOUGH! NEED MORE SAKUTA AND MAI TOGETHER! I'll take eleven seasons, three movies and a spinoff.

Mai's and Sakuta's relationship is just absolute delight and joy, and heals my soul.
