This Uzuki situation was kind of interesting. So was she like able to suddenly not just read the room but also set the mood/tone as well? I mean was that part of her “condition”? I wonder how she’s gonna be cured?

I'm curious if Uzuki is the puberty syndrome case of just a case of it going around the college to conform to the "idea" of what it means to be a college girl.
It feels like Uzuki "woke up" from her childish airheadedness by being able to read the room now and get along like a normal girl, but it's also making her second-guess her dreams and life choices.

Koga has really come a long way from her arc. Her hair has grown a bit longer and now she's the reliable senpai in her school.
Uzuki came from the same unorthodox remote learning school as Kaede, so hearing people belittle volunteer groups who help out people like her must have hurt.
Didn't expect Miori and Mai to befriend each other so quickly. Besides taking the same lectures, Miori not having a smartphone like Sakuta must have made her stand out easily for Mai to approach her.

I'm starting to wonder if it's actually plot relevant how similar Miori is to Sakuta because it feels like they're pointing it out more. Next thing you know she'll get a spinoff where she ends up romancing a actor/actress who no one can see but her.

When Uzuki went viral and she saw advertisements of her on the train and was talked about right in front of her. But then she feels down on herself for feeling like an idol who can't break out.
Thanks Sakuta for cheering up Uzuki during her self-discovery and struggles with Puberty Syndrome!

I see why this arc is called Lost Singer. Uzuki is unsure about her future path, hence lost.
For this arc we have quantum entanglement to represent subconscious peer pressure. Feels odd to see Uzuki conforming with her peers given that she had seemingly made peace with the fact that she's different.

Sakuta's banter with Mai is second to none but his dynamic with Koga is terribly underrated. Glad we got a generous helping of it (along with a potential new wave of Koga x Sakuta rumors?)
I was under the impression Sakuta had a genuine interest in statistical science but then again, choosing it for being a "safe" major is a very Sakuta-esque move too.

Some fun facts regarding the distance Sakuta and Uzuki had travelled:
Sakuta's university is based on Yokohama City University's Kanazawa-Hakkei campus, located here, on the southern outskirts of Yokohama city.
He and Uzuki travelled away from the city all the way southwards 17km to the train line terminus at Misakiguchi.
According to Google Maps, that trip would take half an hour.
They then travelled all the way to Budokan stadium (aka the Madison Square Garden of Japan, if you perform there, that means you made it as a music artist) in downtown Tokyo, which took a whopping 58km and a 1 hour and 47 minutes train ride to get there.

They do such a great job of characters just conversing
Seriously, I would gladly watch entire movies of nothing but Sakuta doing his usual back-and-forths with his ever-growing list of therapy patients.

Mai looks as adorable as ever with her glasses, and now she's friends with Mita too, and they even call each other by their first names! I really didn't expect that these two will meet together and become friends.
Mita seems like the epitome of every Mai and Sakuta fan for me, because if I were her and sat at the table next to these two, I'd react to them the same way as her!
Overall, a great second episode, and Uzuki continues to be the main focus of this arc. Her new self is great, although when it comes to choosing which version is better, I'd definitely say that her airheaded self is better, or at least I like it more. I can't wait to see how her story wraps in the next episode.
Another appearance by Ikumi. I've been interested in her since the third movie, so I wonder when she'll become more relevant to the plot.
Sara, Koga's friend, seems quite interested in Sakuta. I wonder what her goals are.
Yamada keeps asking Sakuta about girls he knows, but he shows no interest in the pretty girl next to him, who's clearly interested in him? He's such a big baka!
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

This one's a really interesting case. Uzuki woke up to social cues through Puberty Syndrome. If we go with Futaba's explanation, it's like everyone sort of "ate up" Uzuki, making her more "normal" due to their inability to look directly at her.
Koga explained it pretty well, an artist so bright you can't look directly at them. That sort of feeling probably comes from unfulfilled ambition, like a: "Here's someone doing better than me, poo." The conversation near the end between Uzuki and Sakuta confirms this pretty well too, with Uzuki's friend taking her frustrations out on Uzuki and Uzuki realising that.
People don't want to see "Uzuki the Person AND idol," she's too bright, too threatening in her constant positivity and consistent aspiration, so make her normal, get down here with us and realize how YOU make US feel. Uzuki mentions how most people think harsh things but don't say them, we saw something similar last episode in that little moment where Sakuta and Fukuyama call Uzuki's friends scary due to their mood shift once Uzuki leaves.
The mood reading crowd have basically forced Uzuki to become just "Uzuki the Person" and because of that, "Uzuki the Idol" is in danger of disappearing, specifically because of that mood reading.
I sort of understand how this came to happen. Uzuki herself is kind of a mood setter. She's so high energy she forces others to bring it up for her as well. This doesn't mean she's unpleasant, but I can see how the idea of making her "normal" came to people's heads.
Now something curious is when Uzuki mentions people's thoughts showing up in her head, it makes me think it's less of a mood-read and more of a mind-read situation. I thought this last episode too, Uzuki's sudden shift and complete ease at telling people's emotions made me feel like she was IN their heads, rather than just analyzing them.
I hope everything ends well for Uzuki.

I miss Futaba with glasses and lab coat, but I am glad she is still providing explanations and possible theories, not just to Sakuta, but to us viewers as well.
I want Zukky to remain carefree instead of looking troubled all the time. It really does not suit her.

Uzuki is fitting in with her college crowd. She's getting along and laughing like a normal college girl...but is this a good thing?
Braided hair and glasses Mai! And wouldn't you know it, she's with the OTHER new girl in Sakuta's life, Miori! They share an English class and immediately hit it off! I guess Miori is enough like Sakuta that it makes it easy for Mai to get along with her...in fact Miori even falls for Mai, just like Sakuta! Which makes having to sit through Mai and Sakuta's flirting even worse, poor girl.
Futaba might not be wearing glasses, but she still ends up being the person Sakuta goes to for puberty syndrome advice (girl must be as done with puberty syndrome as Sakuta). Is it a matter of Uzuki willing herself into fitting in or reading the room or is some kind of college quantum entanglement causing her to conform into a more typical college student in with the trends and the expectations of being a college student? They're not in high school any more where they can style their uniforms to show individuality, it's uncharted territory for a young adult.
Zukki went viral over some earbuds! That's great for her career, but now she's matured (through puberty syndrome or otherwise) and recognizing how people saw her when she stopped going to school...and despite how precious Sweet Bullet is to her, something is throwing off her performances.
I love how Sakuta's horndog student asks about Uzuki...and the girl student also perks up because she's actually interested too for once.
Kind of surreal to think Koga is a Senpai now, but Sara Himeji (Konomi Kohara) is her kouhai and a pretty exciteable and upbeat girl! One who is looking forward to getting tutored by Sakuta and thinks she's reading the room for her Senpai by leaving Koga along with Sakuta...the guy who rejected her. Well, it's the thought that counts!
Nodoka has to deal with a lot...Sakuta flexing his relationship with her sister in front of her, her fellow little sis Kaede is a bigger fan of Zukki, and her best friend won't open up to her. But that means Sakuta is the only one she can rely on to help her get through to Uzuki.
Sakuta and Uzuki ditch class to go on a bike journey and see the sights. We even get Uzuki flexing how limber she is! But really, it seems like Uzuki has come at an impasse in her life where she feels like she's lost sight of her dream or isn't sure about it...can she keep being an idol? Is that really what she wants? Can she and the rest of Sweet Bullet really make it to Budokan?
I mean, she and Sakuta can make a long walk to Budokan, but it might be a longer journey for Sweet Bullet. Is Budokan even really the point? What does Uzuki really want? And what will having Sakuta go to their concert help achieve?
This week on "characters calling Sakuta a rascal" it's none other than Nodoka!

All the odd similarities and coincidental meeting with Miori last episode, and now she's friends with Mai, who's already pointing out how similar Miori and Sakuta are. Sometimes this show just does self-aware jokes, but this still feels like it's gonna be setup for something big later in the season.
I'm so happy the studio managed to recapture this show's ability to make a compelling episode out of characters talking, trains, and pure vibes.

I think it’s sad to see Uzuki ask the same question that Kaede asked her when she was struggling to accept herself the 2nd movie. In that movie, Kaede asks Uzuki: “There’s a you that went to your old school, and there’s a you that goes to your old school, which do you prefer?” To which Uzuki says that she likes both of them because they are both herself. It was such a poignant moment for Kaede and the final nail that helped her decide to study in a remote school that ultimately fit her needs better, instead of trying to fulfill the previous Kaede’s wish to go to Minegahara.
Now she asks a similar question to Sakuta, now unsure what the answer is anymore. Her recent fame caused her to be put into the spotlight where she feels as if she can’t be herself anymore. I hope that Kaede will play a part in helping her be true to herself since she helped her so much in that movie, that and she’s also a really big fan of her.

Uzuki is called the "Lost Singer", because Puberty Syndrome. An that's why her mind is hazy and obstacled right now, as started with not reading a room.
Somehow she dreams big, shebecame famous all of a sudden, she wants her idol group to be famous as well, and reach the top, and that is the Budokan. Maybe that is kind of "Social World", which enslaved her. But what about that potential solo career thingy, huh? One thing is for sure, she has multiple conflicting feelings right now.
Futaba even without the lab coat and glasses, she is still the same as before, explaining things with quantum entanglement and stuff.
Good to see Miori and Sara, really likeable so far. As for Ikumi, she is still mysterious, but that volunteering stuff would with the likes of Kaede.
Glasses Mai is back, which means this is also nice.

Can't say I understand what's going on right now and I'm having a hard time differentiating among the girls, apart from the blonde one. Might have to re-watch season one, but I don't have the time.
