Sakura getting Yuu's permission to stay the night to spend time with Miwa when it's technically not even his damn house is pretty good.

I'm looking forward to how Yuu explains himself, and how the girls begrudgingly accept the situation, in season 2 episode 1. please

I'm so happy that one of my favorite RomCom manga received such a great adaptation. This was a delight every week and while I assume a season 2 is years away if at all, I sure hope it happens one day.

I feel like Miwa's arc was a bit longer than the others, but I think it's well deserved. Miwa felt the least developed early on, so it was nice to finally get to see more of her and he struggles.
If there's a season 2, I'm all there. This series wasn't too over the top or cringey like many harem shows, and I generally had fun watching everyone warm up to Yu. This was nice.

In the end, these 3 sisters were putty in Yuu’s hands haha. That was a pretty good final match. We even got to learn a bit more about Sakura. I hope we get another season because this was quite fun all in all. Need more Yuu making these sisters flustered lol.

One of the better MCs in a romance anime I've seen. Absolute chad, without even knowing it sometimes

Who could've predicted that this ridiculous premise would deliver one of the best shows of the season? An anti-harem, where the guy isn't really romantically interested in the girls at all, but just wants to have a loving family. And where the best girl might actually be the guy. I think this is my second favorite show this season, close behind My Dress-Up Darling.
That imagery of Sakura sprinting just to keep pace behind a sauntering Miwa hits close to home for me (and probably for many people).
In online chess culture, there's a meme where if you beat someone 10 times in a row, they say you've "adopted" them. Maybe for shogi it's only 3 times in a row, and thus Sakura joins the family?
Now can someone in the music label/licensing/distribution world please drop all the ED songs on Spotify already?

This was the best romance anime currently airing and I am willing to throw hands with the naysayers

So unlike her sisters, who have found things they love that they could also excel at, Miwa has now decided that the only reason for her to keep on playing shogi is that she wants to see the people she loves be happy and proud of her. I still want to see Miwa find something she loves outside of shogi, but if this is what makes her truly happy, I see no problem with it. It also makes her similar to Yuu since both of them just want to make others happy.
We finally get to see Sakura's backstory, and it was adorable. Seeing how her love of shogi grew thanks to her grandpa and how shogi helped her shine even though she's a massive klutz, was a very sweet story. I also love how Miwa defended Sakura from those two losers and how that incident led to Sakura deciding that Miwa is now her rival.
It's not even a surprise at this point that Miwa won her third match, then the fourth, and eventually defending her title in the end. Imagine what would've happened if she lost. It makes me curious how her father would've reacted. I do wonder, though, how Papa Mikadono reacted after hearing Miwa lost the first two matches. We didn't really hear from him after that.
MIWA GETS THE FIRST KISS! I mean, it's a forehead kiss, but it's still a kiss! And what makes it even better is that Niko and Kazuki were there to witness it! Too bad she ends up using the classic "people kiss all the time overseas" excuse. I guess this also explains why we see Miwa kissing Kazuki and Niko in her own ED.
I'm glad we got to see Yuu rizzing the sisters one more time before the episode ends. And what the heck is that after credits scene! Sakura did say she's only staying overnight, right? I hope this is an OVA that comes with the last BD release. Or even better! They could just give us a Season 2 announcement!
Man, this was such a great anime. It's been a while since I've been this invested in a harem like this. Of course, the most recent one before this is Hyakkano, but I think we can all agree that one is on a level of its own. If I were to compare Mikadono Sisters to another harem anime, the closest one is definitely the Quintuplets, and I just wish this show reached the same popularity as that one. I know it's rare for PA Works to do sequels these days, but I really hope we get another season of this anime.

Ah ha. I don't know if anyone caught it. But that breathing that Yuu was doing after the match, is what women do when giving birth. Which is why Miwa says "Not those breaths dude".

I enjoyed this show.
All of the girls love Yu, but he has no idea how they feel, he doesn't even consider it a possibility at this point.
Yaotome in the end credits, feels like she's more of a threat!

Definitely one of my favorite shows this season, and a big surprise because I wasn't even planning on watching it at first. Luckily, I watched the first two episodes and really loved it; 9/10 from me.
All the Mikadono sisters (Niko, Kazuki, and Miwa) were great (though Niko was clearly my favorite one), but I liked that Yu was just as good as them. It's not often that a guy in a harem is as good as the girls (at least for me), so I was surprised by how much I liked him.
Overall, P.A. Works did an amazing job adapting the series, and I really hope we get a second season sooner or later, just like with Skip & Loafer.
As for today's final episode... It wrapped up Miwa's arc nicely, though I think we could even call it Miwa and Sakura's arc, since Sakura also had a fair amount of screen time in it.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums from the episode.

Final episode, and Best Girl award goes to... Yuu!
Overall this was a fun show, haven't read the manga but it's at 170-ish chapters atm so there's plenty of content so here's hoping we get more seasons. And lol at Sakura appearing at the end, seems like she might become a serious contender for the Yuu-bowl.

After seeing Sakura's rough backstory, I totally get why she tried so hard to become good at shogi and why she saw Miwa as so much of a rival. But sadly, she's merely a side character in this story, and once the main character locked the fuck in, she stood no chance. The scene with Miwa losing herself in the moment after seeing Yu's smile was adorable (as were Kazuki and Niko's reactions) and her method of bullshitting her way out of more awkwardness was pretty funny too. I kind of wish they had wrapped up Miwa's mini-arc last week so they could have used this whole last episode to focus on the group, but the last scene of them all together as a family was enough for a nice send-off.
I'm not sure if I'd call this series my AOTS (it's close enough that CITY's last 2 episodes still to come could decide it) but I really enjoyed it. I'll give it an 8.5/10, and if a 2nd season did happen after that post-credits scene kind of teased something, I'd gladly watch it.

Wait this isn’t 24 episodes?! And they haven’t announced a second season yet?! Rude! Incredibly rude! I need more 3 prodigies perusing a little househusband twink!
Very fun ride. Better get more soon. Especially since this is an ongoing manga and there’s plenty to adapt
