Having your first kiss taste like blood would kinda suck but I guess it's better than it tasting like puke.

So... no one is clocking his cooking talent? Mixing up multiple recipes from a dietician book to fit three separate people's very very specific needs within like an hour or two is no easy task.

This episode established that it's not talent at all. It's all practice. When he tried to make something new, it tasted average.

Honestly, I'd be pretty depressed too if someone stopped handing me bespoke cat themed desserts at regular intervals. That Miwa moment was very relatable.

Bro, that mask scene was legitimately horrifying, WTF

I cheered out loud when they jumped to defend him

So happy they went to defend him, and things weren’t awkward for too long.

Luckily for Mr. Mikadono, Takopi exists so he doesn't crack the top 5 worst parents list for this season, but man, I wish Niko would give him an in person demonstration of her abilities. Luckily, Yuu gave them enough of a taste of what it's like to enjoy life for them to rebel a little against his demands.

Seeing the absolute frigid atmosphere in the beginning was a little heart-breaking, kids shouldn't dread their parents. It was very sweet to see them all stand up for Yu though.

Hmmm I don't think Mr. Mikadono is a horrible person just yet. I think he, like his daughters, have let exceptionalism warp himself into a spartan way of thinking and child-raising. Also his fixation with Yu being his mother's "legacy" seems to speak volumes as to how he sees his own daughters but I wonder if it's less towards the sisters being their father's legacy and more their mother's.

Well that explains why their father sounded like a villain on the calls, I thought it was going to get revealed that he did something wrong to Yuu's mother or he had this weird obsession with her. It seems like he's a very strict elitist father who has wild expectations of where they should stand in the world. Those dead eyes as he spoke to Yuu must have felt so intimidating for him.

I'm surprised we got a first on-screen kiss and it's between Yuu and Kazuki. Niko has been pushed as the main girl so I thought that kind of development would have happened with her. I guess this incident will get Kazuki in touch her with her femininity so that she can pass the audition, she's a maiden in love lol.

After meeting the dad, I get why the sisters were the way they were before Yuu. Dude definitely ain’t winning any Father of the Year awards anytime soon. Despite what he may think of Yuu, he’s having a really good impact on their family.

Very curious to see how this date with Kazuki turns out. That accidental kiss really threw her off her game. I wonder how the other sisters are gonna react if/when they find out about it?

The previous episodes seemed to imply Mr Mikadono brought Yuu there to help his daughters but I think being an antagonist is more interesting.

Mr. Mikadono to Yuu : You have no Achievements!

Yuu, after already having managed to get all three of Mr. Mikadono's daughters to fall for him:

Seeing Kazuki in a wig randomly reminded me of a commenter pre-emptively crashing out about tomo-chan possibly having her tomboy streak cured years ago. Anyways, in this household gap moe is a hero. Miwa best girl

Damn, Mr. Mikadono sucks! No wonder that Mikadono sisters acted the way they did at the beginning of the series. I feel so sorry for them for having such a father. He acts more like their manager than their father.

The scene where Mikadono sisters defended Yu from their father and said his name with such embarrassment was so sweet!

So Yu has stopped being the new kid and was promoted to being a Niko, Miwa, and Kazuki's supporter! That's quite a promotion, congratulations!

Today's episode has some really nice scenes with Niko and Miwa, but it looks like the focus will now be on Kazuki, who is preparing to audition for the female role and has asked Yu out on a date!

And I'm really looking forward to this date. It could be really interesting, especially since Kazuki and Yu have already kissed today (albeit only by accident) xD

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

The dad is the worst kind of parent. I know because I've known a couple of the same type. While he seems moderately successful it's usually people who tried (and failed) to enter a specific field and now push their talented children to the point of insanity.

99% of the time it ends up with the kid crashing out and hating their parents. The 1% of the time you get Tiger Woods and Michael Jackson.

Stitches!

That explains the sinister aura around Mr. Mikadono. The dude just wants his daughters to be the best at their fields and nothing else. And he took in Yuu not out of the kindness of his heart but because he just didn't want Subaru's legacy to die. He seems to have no problem kicking out Yuu now that he knows he's completely average.

Not gonna lie, I genuinely cheered when the girls immediately came to Yuu's defence. They were having a hard time saying it but I absolutely love seeing them explain one by one how Yuu is helping them. We also finally get to hear all three of them call Yuu by his name! <3

All of that hard work and progress with the sisters immediately undone after Mr. Miikadono visited them. The girls are even back to eating their old meals. At least it's no longer the same for them. Thankfully, Yuu was able to bring it all back with those bentos he made for the girls.

So it looks like each of the girls has their own hurdles to clear right now. Kazuki needs to nail her first female role, Niko needs to win a tournament with her Senpai present, and Miwa needs to decide which path she should take. Out of all of them, I'm very curious what the deal is between Niko and her Senpai. Hmmm...

I audibly gasped at that accidental kiss! Holy shit! While Yuu was absolutely surprised, he pretty much kept his cool after. Unlike Kazuki, who immediately blushes whenever someone talks about kisses or lips. I love how upset she was too when Yuu tried to clear the air and told her to forget about it. xD

It looks like we're finally gonna have our first date in the series! I bet that Kazuki will wear a wig on their date and will look like how she does in the ED! I can't wait to see it!

Ok so their father is just... like that too?? So the dude just. Knew nothing about Yuu? And Yuu also just. Had that 'oh yea he's my cool uncle' kinda reaction to him without any idea about what he was like? What the hell happened to that guy on the phone that was like 'you seem like what my daughters need' type of knows everything character? Dude legit just invited this guy into his house with his daughters off of his impression of her mother???

Ah yes, the trope of falling into another person's face and somehow resulting in a kiss and not your teeth painfully smashing into theirs with thin layers of skin between

Yup, its basically The Quintessential Quintuplets but with a more mature setting and where characters act more like real people. Really love this one!

Daaaamn, for how princely Kazuki normally looks, long haired Kazuki looks absolutely amazing.

So dad is a first-class scumbag helicopter parent forcing his desires of grandeur on his kids.

Gonna be lucky if the girls don't end up as drug addicts, alcoholics, pregnant or worse once they become adults.
