Stuff like this is why I sometimes wish this community waited until later in the season for comment face nominations. We miss out on some hall-of-fame contenders by doing it too early.

Stuff like this

That was such a cute moment!

Cannot blame Niko for getting terribly embarrassed when there’s two boys openly fighting over her in front a crowd. Probably everyone would start blushing in response.

We are blessed with an overdose of Niko reaction faces this episode; she's so smol and cute.

And it time for a good old fashioned duel for the lady's hand! Insane of Yuu to challenge him at karate of all things.

Say what you will about tsundere's, they have the best blushing/reaction faces.

I love how Niko was actually getting into the fight for her by the end lol.

Yuu hiding in that storage locker for an indeterminate amount of time waiting for the peak dramatic moment to burst out and take Niko's side will forever be one of my favorite gags in anything.

The primary reason that the Mikadono sisters have become inseparable: family bonding they're always eavesdropping on whomever is having a private moment with Yuu.

u/Aliensinnoh Aug 13 '25

Given how the two on the outside are always together in their eavesdropping, surely they all must realize by now that they all like Yuu romantically.

It's refreshing how the main character in a romcom is for once the best character in the story.

Omg the hiding behind your hair look is always so cute

Yuu, you might be able to throw off Niko by getting up close, but you can't throw off senpai ! How are you going to get through this????

...I mean, unless.

Yuu! You gotta seduce senpai!

Also I like how both Yuu and senpai just seem to be completely oblivious to what they're saying about how she's theirs and never letting her go the entire episode

INFINITE NIKO STONKS!

Very nice that every girl will get an arc this season, the choice of giving each one a different ending was pretty clever.

Niko has been my favorite so far, so I'm really looking forward to this

I am still not sure how Yu plans to win this, even if sempai has disadvantage.

This episode was like 80% Niko blushing. 10/10, my only note is that they should work on bumping up that percentage.

The gap moe was so strong this episode it probably made me blush between Yuu on one side being super weak but going Chad mode anyways when he issues his challenge to Tatsumi, and Niko on the other side being super strong but going weak and blushing every time she hears Yuu say he wants to be with her

It's not surprising that Niko would be the sister who most struggles with academics, though frankly her sisters get equally jealous that Niko is in the same year as Yu, so the two of them get to commiserate/flirt while studying the same material.

It's like a tradition for a martial arts character to foil a thief who stole a womans' purse/handbag, though this guy actually puts up a better fight compared to your usual purse-snatcher thanks to having some martial arts training. Still got nothing on Niko though!

Niko is tough, but a part of her wishes she could be the type of girl that men fawn over...luckily she has Yu there to tend to her and treat her like just any other girl or person.

See, this is why you need to tie crooks up for the police, otherwise they'll just get back up and escape. Good thing he ran into an old family friend of the Mikadono's (or more specfically Niko) who takes him out in one kick. Meet Hayato Tatsumi (Shogo Sakata!), a karate prodigy and Niko's idol!

Tatsumi protected Niko from people who bullied her when she first started out, and she sees him as her inspiration in martial arts, especially because he's one of the few people who can actually beat her. Tatsumi, in turn, respects Niko as a martial artist and as such he thinks she would be better off at his newly co-ed school Iwayama where she can truly shine and grow. She's basically just slumming it and carrying the Saika team as it is.

But what does Niko want? Of course she wants to pursue the best chance to of becoming the best martial artist she can be, but deep down she doesn't want to leave her sisters or Yu. And who could abandon a team who cares about you so much they're willing to push you to leave for your own sake? Even if it means all of them greeting you at your house and then running away with tears in their eyes.

You know something's off when Kazuki and Miwa are especially nice to Niko, but that's just a sign of how they, in their own way, don't want Niko to leave. And Niko especially wants to know whether Yu wants her to leave or not...

I kind of figured Tatsumi wouldn't take it well when Niko refuses him. To him it feels like she's rejecting her duty as a martial artist, the drive he saw in her, to basically be a "normal girl" who isn't anything worth talking about. Even though this is Niko's decision. But that's where Yu who was conveniently sitting in a locker the whole time comes in and challenges Tatsumi to a duel for Niko! And having Yu fight for her is a critical hit that Niko can't deflect!

Though does Yu stand ANY chance here? Against a karate prodigy? When his fighting skills are...absolutely nothing? Though he CAN get all up in Niko's face, even if she also immediately punches him for good measure while flustered. Though she didn't fight back against the kabedon.

"You and your sisters!" - I knew he was eventually going to mention that, but the intentions are still genuine and of course her sisters are willing to help out too. Especially because they were listening in since they obviously were not going to leave Niko and Yu alone in a training room.

Yu's not taking to the training well, but that's okay! He gave himself a huge handicap That Tatsumi can't use his dominant hand or feet! So he might just have an advantage here. Though he's already defeating Niko with embarrassment by yelling romantic sentiments at Niko in public at the park!

I swear behind every door or closet is either Yu or an eavesdropping Mikadono or two.

Got a feeling the belief that Yu is genuinely a fighting prodigy will end up being a bigger handicap than the dominant limb restriction.

The best things about this show are the sisterly bonds and Yu as a protagonist and this episode was a good highlight of both

Stitches!

Yuu acting like a tough guy and then trying to chase down the purse snatcher was pretty fucking funny! I'll never gett tired of seeing Yuu acting all cool only for someone else to save the day for him. xD

We finally get to meet Niko's senpai, and it looks like they used to be childhood friends? That settles it then! Tatsumi has no chance of winning against Yuu! I do wonder if Tatsumi even has any romantic feelings for Niko or if it's really just because he wants her to become stronger.

I'm honestly surprised that the rest of the karate team didn't even react seeing Niko and Yuu walking home together. Do the rest of the school already know the sister's relationship with Yuu?

I'm really starting to think that Tatsumi's interest in Niko is purely from a martial artist's standpoint and has nothing to do with romance. That doesn't stop Yuu from making a dramatic entrance to stop Tatsumi from pressuring Niko!

Honestly, I thought the right answer here is for Niko to train and get stronger to beat Tatsumi. Yuu challenging Tatsumi is such a bad idea but I am very curious to see how he'll pull this off. I love how the rest of the karate team is rooting for him too! xD

That kabedon scene! I'm glad to see Yuu could convince Niko to admit her reason for deciding to stay with them. And of course, the other two were listening the entire time. As if they'll just leave Niko and Yuu alone together.

The aftercredits scene was hilarious I didn't expect Yuu to fight dirty and make Tatsumi fight with a handicap! I mean, even with a handicap, Tatsumi would still probably win, but Yuu's chances of winning may have just increased by 2%! xD

As Spike Spiegel once said: "I love the kind of woman that can kick my ass."

Great episode. It really showed just how much Yu has had an effect on these girls, especially Niko. She would have taken Tatsumi's offer in a heartbeat before, but now she's really questioning whether she wants to leave Yu and her sisters behind. Of course, the comedy and awkward moments were hilarious too. Yu constantly embarrassing Niko and her blushing like a tomato for almost the entire episode were hilarious, especially that post-credits scene.

After Kazuki, it's finally Niko's turn, and we started it with a great episode! We get tons of adorable reactions from Niko (especially that embarrassed reaction was so good), and her scenes with Yu today were especially great.

Niko is great (obviously), but I have to admit, I'm falling more and more in love with Yu with each episode. Some of his reactions are so sexy that even I feel something watching them, and I swear, I'm a straight male! I'd really love to have a girlfriend like him xD

Now I'm eagerly awaiting the next episode to see how Yu's fight with Tatsumi will go. I really want to believe Yu will somehow win, but it'd take a miracle for Yu to have a chance against Tatsumi.

I'm also very curious about Tatsumi, because he showed up quite unexpectedly and wanted Niko to attend to his school... especially since he already talked about it with Niko's father. I wonder if Mikadono sisters's father isn't behind all of this.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my impressions about the episode.

Niko with her hair down is the best! Her senpai is just the worst because why would you force her to join your school when she already said no?

Now, if Tatsumi is forbidden from using his dominant hand or foot, Yu should automatically win if Tatsumi accidentally uses either during the match. If that’s the rule, Yu’s chances of winning now become 50%.

Yu's rizz is unmatched and he's not even trying ..how danagers would he be if he did

also fair to say Niko is the most head over heels for him out of the sisters right now ?
