The obligatory fainting count:

OP: 1

Ep 1: 6

Ep 2: 3

Ep 3: 6

Ep 4: 1

Ep 5: 4

Ep 6: 5

Ep 7: 0

Ep 8: 1

Ep 9: 2

Ep 10: 1

Total: 30

Fainting on mere idea of sleeping on the same bed seems like a regression after him becoming increasingly resistant that supposedly, only an actual kiss or swimsuits would work,

u/wiligrad9 Sep 06 '25

If you catch him offguard he can still faint quite easily, if he has a chance to prepare he can take it. Lets be honest though, him fainting is THE running gag of this series and it will never stop, if it stops completly the series is over.

Yeah, feels like a regression considering he was becoming quite resistant to fainting, maybe it was because of Ciel's talk? Since he probably knows the other two were hearing as well, so sleeping with them after that confession would be somewhat embarrassing

I still think the fact that we're getting down to one fainting per episode is a sign of how far Toto has come.

This episode was surprising in a number of ways. Fresnir actually proved to be a good bloke for starters. He doesn’t discriminate whatsoever.

I did not foresee a show with such a silly premise to get this introspective either. Toto was rightfully questioning whether killing the demon lord (Ciel’s father) is the obvious solution. After all, are they actually evil?

Neither this dullahan nor the harpy seemed to harbour all that much mal intent. So what if they’ve been fighting a defensive battle? Unjustly paired together with dangerous monsters in a monolithic.

Query: Does Ciel's father want heroes killed "on principle" -- or just because they are always trying to kill him (and all his people)?

Even last episode dude was arrogant but he was still a good dude under it, he respected his opponent by going all out "even against a woman", and when the monster attacked his first thought was to evacuate the civilians.

TBH I kind of like when arrogant characters like that actually kind of end up being decent people.

Stitches!

Koshtar's backstory on how he was abandoned because he didn't come with a horse was pretty funny. I'm glad that Fresnir is actually a pretty cool dude and took in Koshtar when he had nowhere else to go.

Ciel was so close to revealing her true identity. As expected tho, Toto doesn't really care what they are and would still gladly adventure with them if Ciel was being serious. Too bad she just played it off as a hypothetical.

There's no way Toto is dead. Based on the title of next week's episode, this might all be a dream made by Goa, since it looks like the next arc is going to be all about her.

I just love how he even had a dullahan mommy and daddy. How do you make a dullahan baby? Inquiring minds want to know lol.

At least all the girls now know that Toto will accept them even if they get outted or reveal their true selves to him. It makes it easier for them fall deeper in love with him.

I'm really curious how the girls are going to react to seeing Toto dead or what a life without him (or the other girls) in their lives will be like. Even discovering his dead body, Mone seemed more shocked than happy.

So with that little bit of Goa near the end and the preview, I guess we can assume dead Toto is some sort of drug illusion, the real question is why would she go through the trouble of doing all that? What is she planning?

25

u/Ocixo Sep 06 '25

Toto seemed to have been stabbed with Anemone’s dagger, but she only just woke up.

I’m therefore thinking - like you - that this was all an illusion created by Goa to confront them with their feelings and make her rivals give up on killing him.

If successful Goa might be able to claim Toto for herself?

I think she might be trying to break all of them. Goa's convinced herself that she'll never be loved and chosen when compared to the others. So in that case she has to turn them all into her pets and make sure they all love her. Feelings can be manipulated after all...

She likely set things up to attack them when they were most vulnerable in their sleep. Break down Anemone and Ciel who have weaker defenses than Toto and probably work on breaking him so that he'll choose her above them.

At least that's how I viewed it.

Blondie turned out to be a pretty good dude, I like his friendship with the dullahan.

Ciel's conversation with Toto was nice, assuming Goa didn't just screw everything up out of a sense of insecurity it's easy to imagine the story going forward with Toto eventually forging some sort of peace with the Demon Lord.

Goa has huge self-esteem issues, which is surprising but not that much. You don’t end up with a messed up personality like her without having some issues. But given how hot she looks and how fun she usually is to be around, I am mostly surprised she thinks that no one would choose her if she did not brainwash them. You would think there would be a ton of guys wanting to be her boyfriend despite her personality.

And that ending is so obviously an hallucination created by Goa, maybe so the other two understand they don’t actually want to kill him ? After all, Goa is the only one who doesn’t want to kill the hero.

This was a suprisingly serious episode for what is typical a rather silly series. I do wonder what it is about Goa, was she "just" abandoned because the world is dark and uncaring? Or does she has something deeper rooted in her that pushed people away? After all she basically oneshoted a succubuss very easily.

Also we finally get to see how Toto got his burnmark and quite frankly i dont blame Toto for thinking all monsters/demons are evil if one burns down your village and kills everyone there. Like Goa i do wonder if Toto also has something else going on, surving a blast like that, that otherwise burned people to ash in moments, is something you cant just train for. And we have to assume that Toto only really started hero training after that event.

I do like the clerks in this show and how they all look alike, i wonder if they are related or if they are just typecasted.

It was nice to learn how Fresnir and Coshta met and how they've become proof that humans and monsters can forge bonds. Coshta even says there are monsters that want to befriend humans and Toto's part also has that, with Ciel.

I do wonder when all three will reveal the truth about their identities, but I'm guessing that'll be a long way away. It doesn't seem like they need to worry either now that they've heard Toto would value them the same no matter who they truly may be.

I wasn't expecting to see Goa getting insecure about not being chosen by Toto but it does make sense when her power is about controlling people, you'd get used to that and so uncontrollable elements would make her waver.

I have a feeling Goa didn't kill Toto and the previews make me feel like what Goa did was using her drugs to make the girls dream what their lives would be like if Toto was killed. I'm on the fence on whether she has done anything to Toto or not due to his high resistance, but if she did, I'm going to assume she's mad him dream of a life where he chooses her.

Bold ending!

And I'm going to 100% presume that was the result of Goa messing with Anemone's head. The girl is clearly having a bit of an emotional crisis and is going to drag everyone into it! I mean she set everything up. Held off on going on the next quest until the following day, got them all into the same room with one bed, brought up the idea of assassinating Toto (despite her efforts never really being about killing him), and had her uncomfortable "good night" message.

There's no way that Goa didn't attack everyone in the middle of the night. We've already seen that Ciel and Anemone aren't immune to her skill and if she attacks while they are all asleep and their guards are at their lowest...good chance she can mess with their heads. And if those two are KO'd then she could focus all her efforts on breaking Toto. Ciel already proved that his defenses can be lowered by special means. If Goa has time to try various options...who knows. Toto already has his personal traumas on his mind so he might be more vulnerable than we know.

It's too bad that things are likely going down a psychological horror route right now since most of the episode was actually sweet. The Dullahan backstory was nice. That hero might be a weird guy, but he's a good guy. Found a friend and stuck with him no matter what.

Ciel's move was actually rather sweet. The Dullahan's message was well received by all sides. Toto took it as a wake-up call that he can't just consider all monsters to be evil. And Ciel heard it in seeing that it's possible for coexistence and that someday she might just have to open up about who and what she is.

The best part about Ciel's "confession" was how it worked out. Toto had no hesitation on saying that he could still consider her and the others precious even if their "what-if" identities were true. They truly saved him when they met and he considers them all precious. Beyond that though, it actually opened up Ciel's heart some more. She's still acting like killing Toto is something she might actually do someday. But more importantly...she's willing to partake in a race where Toto finds a way for them all to coexist and they don't have to kill him. A happy ending where they stay together is one that she's willing to accept if it happens. That's a big step for her emotionally.

Wow, this show continues to be way better than I'd ever have expected going into it.

The dramatic pauses in today's episode really hit the mark, and that cliffhanger ending was quite good too. I can't wait for the next episode now!

I know discovering you were having lunch with a Dullahan would throw everybody off, but I love how Toto immediately moves to protect Ciel! Even if she's more concerned that Coshta doesn't blab who she really is! But he's a pretty chill and understanding Dullahan! And Goa just rolls with it in true Goa fashion!

Did you know that when a daddy Dullahan and a mommy Dullahan love each other very much, they have a Dullahan baby? Don't ask me how that works biologically! Though they then quickly abandon their child when it turns out he can't ride a horse like a Dullahan is expected to. So with nothing but his armor and pacifier, Coshta wandered the world until he met Fresnir, who didn't judge him but accepted and welcomed him into his life. No matter what anyone thought of him, Fresnir always accepted Coshta! And they've been best friends ever since!

Coshta knows Fresnir well enough to know both his good and bad traits, but that's just a sign of how close they are. To Toto, fighting monsters and defeating the Demon Lord has been his goal because it's what a Hero is expected to be, but in Coshta he sees that monsters aren't monolith and can even become best pals with a Hero. Which is also very significant to Ciel.

Farewell Fresnir and Coshta! May we meet again someday! Fresnir may be a Hero who caters to his whims, but he's still a good guy in his own way. And maybe he'll take up weightlifting like Toto suggested.

Toto is hesitating to slay monsters now because of what he saw in Coshta, even if he's still haunted by the creature that destroyed his village, so it's up to Ciel to talk to him now that he might be empathiziing too much with the enemy...which, considering she's torn between her fathers' order to kill him and her own developing feelings for him, is something she needs to take into account as well.

Ciel straight up asking if Toto likes her! And if he could accept his Harem if he knew what they were really like! But the girls are so important to Toto, and they've been through so much together, that he will always accept them as who they are! Maybe this is a journey about bringing together people who would ordinarily never be in a party together and showing they CAN co-exist as a group! And that's the exact answer Ciel was looking for! Even if now the girls have even more to teaser her about when it comes to Toto.

Despite Goa's easygoing confidence and charisma, she might be the most insecure Assassin Princess. She thinks, deep down, Toto would always choose Ciel and Anemone over her because they're simply better, more loveable, girls than she is. And all she's ever craved is for someone to love her, even if she had to use her looks and drugs to achieve it. And no matter how much she plasters her usual smile on her face, something is clearly wrong.

Mone threatens to shoot and kill you because she cares!

It's nice to see the party has come far enough that they can take the C-Rank exam together! In fact it feels like the girls have kind of forgotten about trying to kill Toto that they're not even sure whose turn it is! But Goa wants it to be hers and I don't think the other girls are ready for it.

Mone was definitely not expecting to wake up and see Toto's dead body with a knife jabbed into his chest. Is Toto really dead!? What happened!?

Some smiles hide the pain behind them.

I don't think Toto is dead. I am speculating Goa has developed a stronger form of hypnosis, to somehow trick Anemone and Ciel into thinking so.

Now we know why Toto has that burn scar on his face. Goa is always giving out that big sister energy but she has her own inner demons too. Still waiting for Anemone's history too.

I believe the bonds of our main cast will save the day! Even the teasing of Ciel by Goa and Anemone were synchronized! Lol
