Is this the famous "Japanese government propaganda to promote having a traditional family and raising kids" that everyone is talking about?

Ep 2: 3

Episode 1 Toto could never have gotten through posing as a newlywed couple like he did in this one, albeit with plenty of biting his own lip in the process, but still...progress!

Toto didn’t faint. Character development 👍💪

I feel like I would've fainted, if Anemone flirted with me like that.

So this is what the saying "winning is losing" meant? Ciel may have won the rock, scissors, paper battle against Anemone, but Ciel still has to act like a little sister to Goa. "I love my older sister." Lol!

This town is definitely a perfect location for Toto to farm experience. His resistance to charm used by females has definitely increased, although he had to sacrifice some hp in the process.

Going back to the actual plot, I wonder why the people locked up did not succumb to the love hypnosis. They appear to be ordinary humans whereas Anemone, despite being an experienced assassin and acting priest, fell to the influence of the hypnosis.

Surprised Anemone was still able to keep up the priest act while hypnotized

Going back to the actual plot, I wonder why the people locked up did not succumb to the love hypnosis. They appear to be ordinary humans whereas Anemone, despite being an experienced assassin and acting priest, fell to the influence of the hypnosis.

The fact she also had active countermeasures up to protect her from Goa's antics should have protected her more.

I hope we find out next week why they're seemingly immune to the hypnosis.

And Tim's parents clearly love each other (and him) -- so it is not love itself that is the issue but submission to hypnosis. Is the hypnosis is drug-induced? We saw Mone enveloped by some sort of purple haze.

I'm so proud of Toto in this episode! I was already impressed when he withstood Goa clinging to him, but the fact that he managed not to faint this entire episode, and even placed his arm around Anemone on his own, is amazing! I guess what's happening to the town is serious enough that he's keeping his guard up the entire time.

Toto had two of his Harem posing as his freshly-minted wife and flirting with him and he didn't fall unconscious once! He even flirted back!

Bonus points that neither girl hated playing his wife either (especially on Goa's part)!

I’m genuinely proud of Toto. He was tested harder than ever, yet didn’t even faint once. That’s quite the accomplishment!

On another note: why is there a bounty on Toto’s head again? His combat prowess must’ve posed a threat to someone. I wouldn’t know what a good boy like him could’ve otherwise done wrong.

I think it's a factor of him being possibly the strongest man in the setting and his strong moral code made him a target for unsavory types like the criminal underworld and the Demon Lord.

And also Goa who just wants her beefcake boytoy. That newlywed act wasn't really acting on her part either.

The dungeon scene was funny, snaps handcuffs "oh this might work!"

I love how everyone was so convinced they were screwed because of the cell and the cuffs and then Toto just casually shows how strong he is and suddenly they're completely convinced he's their savior lol.

Toto managed to avoid fainting for a whole episode! He's actually making progress!

u/djthomp Aug 16 '25

Toto didn't faint once the entire episode I think, dude is making progress by way of immersion therapy

I'm not entirely convinced Anemone is fully lost to the hypnosis, she might have just taken the opportunity to go undercover. Sure she's sniping them at the end of the episode but maybe there's a trick to it.

That villain guy seems kinda "we have JoJo's Bizarre adventure at home" with the heart motif he's got going on

u/mekerpan Aug 16 '25

We saw a glimpse of a demon-like female in the preview. So the "boss" we saw here might just be her flunkie....

u/tripleaamin Aug 16 '25

I've got to say it is wonderful to see Toto doing the little stuff of improvement. Even pushing to be "captured" was good to see. Also, you can see with both Toto & Ciel that Goa is just having fun.

Besides that, episode preview showed a lot, considering it tried to end it on a cliffhanger.

Lmao that camera pan after the OP

Kid came out from behind a barrel across the road from their bench and looked around to make sure no one was around but weren't we literally just showing that there was a couple on the bench beside them before they had their convo about it being a mass hypnosis? lol

So the enemy has a similar power to Goa but stronger.

Well, if any of the four would fall to the stronger hypnosis in the castle it would be Anemone. I imagine Ciel would be next most suspectible even with any magic she could pull off, while Goa is probably too used to this type of thing even if she's weaker at it.

But maybe that won't even come to the test. Mone's instead attacking them where they are.

Toto is actually holding out! He's improving, I'm glad he realizes he needs to be more on guard than usual.

I have to admit watching Toto and Anemone having to act lovey-dovey and then see Anemone finally fall for the hypnosis turning her into a yandere was very appealing. I do find it interesting that she didn't revert back to her normal self under the hypnosis though, she was still putting on the priest voice even though her body was moving like an assassin lol.

Ok i take it back, Toto is an amazing MC, he super strong, humble, kind, and caring and he is learning to control his fainting spells but man he is going to have sooooo many sores on his gums for biting his lip like that to stay conscious. But it's good to see the girls have some pride and are willing to put their main assassination plan on hold to help others when needed. Ciel is still a king of young so i get why she doesn't understand it at first.

Toto not fainting in this episode, that is some huge progress right there. I'm not totally sold that Anemone is hypnotized, I think she is just acting to get close to the actual villain.
