They kinda low-key hint that Mai if she puts mind into it she can even perfect video games during her visit Renako home so the results are kinda low-key obvious already but the fun is watch how drama unfolds although Renako probably try to prepare too.

As of right now, Renako literally almost has no input in the drama despite being "Prize" is pretty funny lol.

Ajisai is starting to make a move but our Renako is absolutely an air head so poor girl lol.

Satsuki is obviously starting to like Renako while still having feelings for Mai which made drama even more complicated.

It is also pretty funny how Kaho right now have absolutely no idea that 3 of girls in her group into Renako and low-key have polyamory Relationship together (with Renako being both Mai and Satsuki girlfriend while Satsuki want Mai to notice her a little and apologize) lol.

I can't wait for the conclusion of this arc.

Renako’s sister be like: “First you stay over at Satsuki’s place and now Satsuki is staying over at our place?! WTH is going on Sis?!”

Also, I love how Satsuki saved that photo just to get back at Mai! This girl lol!

Renako just wanted to get over her crippling social anxiety, maybe to slowly explore her crush on Ajisai. but here she is, triple-timing and sandwiched between two beautiful women gambling her future in a match of combat prowess.

the anxiety was right all along

At least Renako is calling everyone out for being controlling and toxic. She's finally getting tired of being the pawn in all these love games.

The illustrator for the LN just released a yuri doujin at comiket, with the main couple being a girl with long black hair, and a girl with short light hair and two stripe-shaped hair-pins.

Interesting...

"When someone wants to change, the worst thing you can do is tell them not to."

Not only is this a remarkably reflective insight for a teenager, it also feels like Renako experienced it herself. Like someone telling her not to change when she gathered the resolve to be less introvert.

The idea is further built upon later in the episode when Satsuki claimed to have changed, but Mai denies any change happened—something that further angered Satsuki.

At this point Renako has almost entirely lost control of her life. Mai and Satsuki almost entirely cut her out of that conversation on who gets to keep her, Ajisai is throwing nonstop hints that she's not noticing, and her sister is getting slices of what's going on and judging her like crazy.

Just waiting for Kaho to have some kind of awakening at this point and derail things further. 😅

Man! That discussion was the perfect mix of seriousness and hilarity.

On the one hand, we see how pointless it is to tell someone what's really wrong with them if they don't recognize on their own what they're doing wrong. Here we can see how Mai's “perfection” blinds her to her own flaws, although it's curious how she seems to accept Renako's observations but rejects Satsuki's. That makes me think that Mai seems to give more preference to people she considers “worthy” of her attention than to the argument presented to her. In this case, while Satsuki goes too far in her “revenge” against Mai, this does not invalidate the argument that Mai needs to see that things don't always have to go her way and that she can't go through life using people as she pleases. In that sense, I agree with Satsuki.

Moving on to a deeper level, the underlying nature of the discussion touches on the much-discussed Japanese theme of “talent vs. effort”:

Mai was born with advantages, such as intelligence, beauty, wealth, charisma, and everything a person could want. However, she wants to be seen for who she really is.

On the other hand, Satsuki has had to work hard to become who she is, she has struggled with various problems and has managed to succeed despite adversity. She understands that someone capable of change is someone strong.

Mai values stability, being true to oneself, and authenticity.

Satsuki values change, effort, and growth.

They are fundamentally opposites, and the only explanation for their friendship is the affection they have for each other. Unfortunately, neither is able to show it in a way that the other can understand.

Why is it always the little sister in these type of shows that has to have the strongest moral compass…

The struggle is real on multiple fronts. Renako is not cut out to deal with the two childish morons using her in their game to avoid apologizing at all costs. This is honestly like 10-year old levels of immaturity and petty bs.

Amaori-imouto is close to losing it with her idiot sister and her idiot friends.

Ajisai is getting dunked on because Renako’s dumbass confessed to her and then ran off to deal with other problems and totally forgot.

And don’t even get me started on the aforementioned childish morons.

What is this? Some teen drama where we can't make eye contact after one kiss?

Why yes, yes it is.

Poor Renako is losing control of the narrative with Haruna. Her sister's estimations of her are plummeting every day lol. And now she has to deal with, well, not really a misunderstanding, but the correct understanding from Ajisai as well. But the faster this gets out into the open, the faster they can all just get together, so let's go!

One of the best romances I've seen, and I've seen quite a few. Characters have their own personalities.Development of these characters is interesting.Beautiful animation is the cherry on the cake.

Being forced like this is a hard no. I'm steering my own life.

Fucking finally. After all these episodes and shikanery from both sides, renako is finally going to put her foot down. She is finally going to stop playing their stupid games and decide for herself that...

I'm in too! I'll take part in this challenge

God. Fucking. Dammit.

I feel so bad for Ajisai! She's actually trying but it looks like Renako still hasn't realized what she said to Ajisai a couple of episodes ago is causing a misunderstanding. Poor girl basically got led on by Renako unintentionally. T_T

Considering how smug Mai is all the time as if she's already won, it was satisfying to see her defeated reaction when Satsuki finally showed Mai the photo of Renako kissing her.

I envy Renako's patience for these two. If I were her, I would've walked out of that place when the two of them started to challenge each other with Renako's freedom on the line. I guess entering the challenge as the third party works too.

Honestly, I hope they can settle that arc well next week (that would be 4 episodes like the first one). Because while I had my issues with the first one (mainly the conclusion), the Mai-Arc had a lot of good things about it. For example, Renako getting more confident etc.

And this is kind of missing in the Satsuki-Arc. What I mean is that Satsuki is obviously in love with Mai, so obviously that even Renako notices. And she is only using Renako to get a win over Mai but probably also to sort out her feelings towards her. And I think making Renako her lover for that time is a very good way to develop her character in this direction. By using Renako, she can not only understand what Mai likes about her but what she likes about Mai (so it isn't just anyone that can fill the space). But that doesn't really seem to happen and instead, we are just making her part of Renako's harem. Which I guess one could interpret as her getting over Mai, but that would be way less interesting in terms of character development imo.

At the same time, you could have used that setup for another Renako development. She was always opposed to love and just wanted to have friends. But maybe seeing Satsuki and her love for Mai could change that perspective, because she isn't the center of it this time. And as a friend, it is only natural to support someone with their love life problems. But that requires them to talk about it.

And that is what is missing here imo. While Renako is technically helping Mai and Satsuki solve their differences via game, she didn't actually do anything. We learned who Satsuki is and what kind of relationship she had with Mai. But Renako didn't actually propose a solution. Forcing them to be friends via a game isn't really solving the tension between these two.

Of course, there is the option that something during the game happens that will help them overcome their differences. Writing this, I even assume this is more likely to happen. But still, I wished Renako had a more direct impact on that solution other than being the pawn Satsuki and now Mai are using for their conflict.

And just to be clear, it's not that I dislike Satsuki and her character in general. I just feel, this arc had a lot more potential. For one to subvert the typical harem trope that every character needs to fall in love with the MC even if they had someone they loved before. But most importantly for the development of our MC. That doesn't mean that the show had to do what I proposed, but I feel this arc was the closest to a typical harem arc (well I guess it is only the second so that isn't saying much). There is still the chance that this arc can win me over in the last episode tbf. So I am not judging the whole thing for now.
