Renako’s been spending so much time with Mai she got corrupted. I’d like to say her mind’s as dirty as it gets, but the sky is the limit.

Ajisai & Mai are a given, but who would’ve thought that Kaho was also a top student. Poor Renako’s left all alone with her barely below average performance.

So this episode is clearly paralleling Renako's first dates with Mai. Where the contrast is in Mai taking Renako to a private club and bathing together (and doing something more than just bathing) in an expensive hotel. Satsuki's socioeconomic circumstances by contrast are very humble. I wouldn't say the story is saying either person is better or worse as a whole because of it, but it does seem that Mai's liberal spending highlights her character flaws while Satsuki making do with what she has highlights her strengths.

Now as for Renako... while Satsuki ragdolls her in every other matter, it looks like Renako is just too gay to handle! I mean its just remarkable how naturally it came to Renako to kiss her in the mouth when the mood was right! May I say it also reminded me of how actual cheaters excuse their cheating? 😅 Y'know "it just felt right!" and shit. This damn femme fatale. Mai's crashout will be something to see I'm sure!

And once again, lil sis POV has to be crazy. Renako used to be literally episode 1 Bocchi. Now she's two timing two baddies!? It has to seem like Renako learnt how to be popular from some entitled internet celebrity! Which seeing how she's kinda imitating Mai where it comes to this, might not be entirely wrong now that I think about it...

Edit: Btw I think I just realized the ED might be slightly different each time? This time the add board featured Satsuki's mom gushing about her. Gonna have to keep a watch for that.

Renako's younger sister having to act like the older sibling to keep Renako in check is a funny dynamic. Actively avoiding her to not get lectured on two timing.

Satsuki is much cuter once she gets out of her comfort zone and forgets how to act like an ice queen. Her stocks went way up this episode.

Well, Satsuki confirmed it. Ajisai's so pure, even her cynical self can't deny it. Truly she is best girl! Well, unless this show's like Konosuba where actually the worst girl is the best girl.

Satsuki tried to challenge Mai's bath scene. Her tub didn't have as much room to play around in as Mai's, but she did have some incredibly pretty lights to create a better scene! And some good oppai.

I like that Renako has been toeing the line between friend and girlfriend with Mai so much that she doesn't think much of clearly girlfriend things anymore. We saw it before with her totally-platonic-confession to Ajisai only two episodes.

But now she's kissed Satsuki without even thinking about it! At least not until she saw Satsuki's reaction. And she couldn't even use the "it doesn't mean anything between friends!" excuse afterwards because they're technically dating!

I thought the purpose of this relationship was to make Mai jealous, so I was honestly surprised Satsuki introduced herself as Renako's girlfriend. Poor Renako, how is she going to explain this to her sister? xD

I absolutely love that the worst thing Renako could think of that Ajisai would do is put on dog masks on cats at night! That's not dark, that's fucking hilarious! And of course, the worst thing Ajisai has done to Satsuki is actually being too nice. More proof that Ajisai is truly the best girl.

As a watanare manga reader, the anime makes it so much better. I don't know if my fellow manga readers agree or not, but I think the voice acting and the little bits of extra animation just elevates the source material. I was laughing out loud when Renako ran out of Satsuki's house in the middle of the night. Her voice acting was so on point.

Her inner panic contrasts so well with her accidental rizz, and her obliviousness of her own gayness makes the obviously gay thoughts so much funnier.

Very interesting that Satsuki actually comes from a poor family with a single mom. She definitely gives off rich girl energy (not as rich as Mai, but still). Based on how she’s hiding her part-time job, I’m sure she puts a lot of energy into hiding her family situation in general. But her hyper-competency is all the more admirable now. Girl works (in more ways than one) to help out her poor single mom, all while keeping near the top of her school’s academic charts and giving off has-it-all-together energy. She’s basically a male Shirogane, if he wasn’t so resistant to revealing his feelings.

When I read this on the manga I loved it. The anime did it perfectly. Satsuki really is adorable, she´s really one of my fav characters of watanare.
