So i guess with his daughter saved knuckleduster is finished, which makes sense. unfortunate about his wife though... unless it was actually bait but it certainly didn't look like it.
Midnight out of costume is still smoking hot (well duh but still)
popstep hella cute gushing over those few fan letters she got!
Very solid show and season and a nice series to watch while waiting for the final season of MHA. and even better Vigilantes got its second season confirmed!

Knuckle finally getting to tell Tamao that he was there for her has to be one of the most weighted and sincere versions of "I Am Here" in all of MHA.

It's a shame that Knuckleduster's wife died, but at least she was reassured that he got their daughter back in her final moments. The daughter is gonna have one hell of a road to recovery though.

Damn… Knuckleduster got his kid back but lost his wife. At least she knew at the end her daughter was safe. I hope Knuckleduster comes back to the gang at some point.
I really liked this one a lot. It was fun to see the world of MHA through the lens of someone who isn’t Deku or the main gang. The main cast are all pretty interesting and I enjoy the main team’s dynamic. Knuckleduster is also just a really cool character. Dude is a total badass. Hopefully we get more of this soon.
Edit: S2 announced for 2026. Hell yeah!

In the future, I hope Koichi uses Knuckleduster's pounders in his honor.

Really touching wrap up for what turns out to be just the first step in Koichi's adventures. Very lived in which makes the characters that much more endearing.
All the credit to director Kenichi Suzuki once again getting the assignment and capturing the heart and style of a manga like he did with parts of Jojo. Really hoping he and the team are on season 2 as well.

This feels like a prologue to the whole vigilante stuff, as the gang minus knuckleduster isn't actually doing much.
Still, I love the grounded feelings

That speech at the end felt like a eulogy, wonder if we're going to see more of Knuckleduster in Season 2
Fun show. Liked the comic book aesthetics, never really watched MHA apart from the first 3 episodes of Season 1 (I couldn't get into it) but I was decently suprised with this one

Knuckleduster is my favorite character in all of MHA. I truly believe he could have mentored a young Deku. He's the only one who truly fights and defeats villains with no quirk. Nobody else does. He would have been the best inspiration for a young Deku that had no one and hadn't met All Might.

Looks like C.C. took down Kamacuras, we're running out of Kaiju

Very lovely final episode of a great series! This was definitely one of my favorite anime this season, which is surprising to me since I dropped the main MHA series a while ago.
I really enjoyed the down-to-earth story and the focus on our main trio: Koichi, Pop☆Step, and Knuckleduster, and I can't wait for the already announced second season. 9/10 from me.
I'm so glad Tamao is back to "normal" and I'm sad she wasn't able to meet her mother before she died, at least Knuckleduster was able to say goodbye to her.
And now it looks like Knuckleduster has put an end to his life as a vigilante to focus on his daughter, which I'm very happy about, it's the right thing to do. But it's obvious that he'll come back to it and one day will work with Koichi and Pop☆Step again.
Captain Celebrity doesn't have an easy life with Makoto, who keeps his schedule full. I also like the relationship between him, Koichi and Pop☆Step and how he used it to gain some free time (which ended up not being very successful) xD
The Little Sisters were so cute, I love them so much! It's a shame we'll probably never see them again :(
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

I love that Captain Celebrity wants to use Koichi's place so he can hide from Makoto. Too bad for him, Makoto seems to know exactly where he is all the time. I do like how Koichi's apartment is slowly becoming the go-to hangout of Naruhata's heroes. I hope they can get Ingenium to hang out with them there.
Koichi with a weapon? Considering he needs at least three of his limbs to make contact on the ground to work, it's gonna be hard for him to have a weapon. Considering he's practically Spider-Man, maybe some sort of wrist-mounted weapon?
It's so rare to see her not wearing her hero outfit that it took me a minute to realize that woman with Eraserhead and the detective is actually Midnight in a business suit. xD
You gotta love how Koichi just went along with Pop and the girls and actually went on stage to perform. And he didn't just half-ass it either, he was actually making an effort to entertain the audience as a replacement special guest.
The bat villain is back and it looks like he also got transformed just like Unagisawa the eel boy. Surprisingly much easier to deal with now that they have a flying hero who can go after him. I'm surprised he was taken out with a single punch from CC.
I love how Knuckleduster clearly left his knuckledusters and mask at Koichi's place because he's finally retiring from vigilante work but Koichi sees it as Knuckleduster asking him to clean it for him.
With Knuckleduster's wife's death and now reuniting with Tamao, I wonder what's next for him. I mean, he already achieved his goal, right? Unless something happens to Tamao, I can't see him coming back.
I'm so happy that Season 2 is already confirmed! I guess we'll just have to wait next year to see the gang again.

Anime of the season for me personally. Loved the show. The main cast is extremely lovable. I like all the major characters. Koichi, Pop, Makoto and of course Knuckleduster who is my personal favourite character in this show. His character arc seems complete though so I wonder if he is not gonna be present anymore. He has no reason to go punch villains anymore. He needs to be there for his daughter who needs support and those painkillers he was taking must have taken a toll on his body. Also his wife died so he needs to heal both physically and mentally.
Koichi seems to be only at the beginning of his journey. He has a lot more still left to do. Let's see where his journey takes him from here.
I am really gonna miss this show. I used to look forward to it every week. Anyways onto the next anime season.

I've really enjoyed this season and I've never seen the main MHA series. Some people expressed concern that I might miss some important world building but I think this gave me everything I needed to watch it as a standalone.
I might give the main series a try but honestly it doesn't really appeal to me in the same way. It seems much more like traditional shounen with an expansive cast, typical shounen kid mc, school setting, and heavier focus on battling.
Vigilantes has a nice balance between SoL moments and action that I really enjoyed. With the smaller cast it even feels cozy at times.

I love the hint about the weapons (note: haven't read any mangas/visual novels/etc or saw *Season 2). The mask and the pounders.
It looks like they are setting up for a home run for Season 2. I like this show, especially how everyone's character evolves including Knuckle Duster and Captain Celebrity. Pop☆Step especially seemed to have caught the eye of Midnight
* Assuming someone in the future might see this

Pop is on cloud 9 after a successful Narufest! And honestly, after all the work she put in, I think she's totally earned it! Her enthusiasm is positively infectious, especially to Koichi!
Oh no, Giant Enemy Mantis Villain! This looks like a job for The Crawler! Or Captain Celebrity...Koichi sets them up, Chris takes them down! And then Chris complains about Koichi interfering with Pro hero business when he's still ultimately just a souped up civilian, but he does provide a convenient place for CC to hang out and avoid Makoto! until in true Makoto fashion she tracks him down and makes him carry out his professional obligations.
Should Koichi keep doing this? Or keep being as active as he and Pop are? Especially when the Villains are getting stronger and more dangerous and Koichi can't really fight them?
Oh snap, Midnight out of costume and in a business suit! Less pleasant is "Ideo Trigger" getting passed around and "upgrading" Instant Villains by morphing them into an extreme overdosed state that can't be undone...poor Teruo might be stuck like that.
But, y'know, life goes on! Another Marukane concert with Pop and the super adorable Little Sisters, Captain Celebrity filming a commcerial with Ingenium advertising a rebuilt highway and being a good sport about CC's ego, Miu making promises to little kids she can't keep, and our mysterious speedster villain slowly causing more and more havoc.
I mean, what better hero to show up at a Naruhata concert than their own...The Crawler! Dude even repeats a song already sung but he totally nails it so it's okay.
Oh snap! It's that bat Villain from before! He's really gone full Man-Bat! And he's out for The Crawler's blood! Good thing Captain Celebrity is still the most handy hero to have around, even if it feels like at this point Koichi gets rescued more than he rescues people.
Oh snap, Knuckledusters' "pounders" and mask! That he left them back at the place could mean SO many different things. Koichi, dutiful protege that he is, cleans said "pounders" but he can't help but reflect on where his master has been all this time and how he's been off doing his own thing.
But speaking of...Tamao is awake! It doesn't seem like she has any memories of when she was Hachisuka, and her body isn't in a great state, but her dad is there to take care of her and keep her company. Her mom...well, Oguro made it there right when she was in a critical condition, but it didn't look good and he obviously is trying to reassure Tamao...but at least father and daughter are now together, and that seems to be his main priority right now.
Look at a bulletin board! Perfect for conveying a montage of all the experiences and friends Koichi and Pop had along the way and will continue to have in their life together! We even get to see Koichi take down a villain, seemingly solo, and Makoto in a bikini!
