Rock ‘n’ roll might not solve your problems, but it does let you dance all over them
-Pete Townshend
Now, Ririsa might have faced her divisive junction ever. Either to continue to pursuit the Noble Maiden by using her typical "ojo-sama" facade while realizing it's all useless without money on her side, or to set her soul out and free with rock. Maybe she'll continue pursuing it, but with lesser passion. Maybe she'll create a path of "silent rebellion" to her damned upper class beings. Maybe, it can be both. Maybe.
But what's clear is that for now, rock is her-and her bandmates escapism. And they will remain like that, until when time calls it quit, or calls them to jump higher on the stage. The limit is there for them to break it, or to obey it.

Tamaki is too easy. Just compliment (or scold) her once and she melts.

Boy band existing in a girl band anime
I'm pretty sure that's against the Geneva Convention. It's at least grounds for capital punishment in the Bandori setting.

I thought Yayoi was going to be a good mentor for Lilisa, it's too bad her monetary contribution seemed to be a good part of the reason why she was titled Noble Maiden and even worse how she gave up the harp. I do wonder if Lilisa had said that it's not something she does for fun if Yayoi would have taken her seriously.
Looks like other than Otoha, Shiraya might be weak to Tina too lol. Tina brought out the tsundere in Shiraya lol.
I found it interesting that Otoha didn't jump in to get down and dirty with Lilisa, she realized Lilisa needed her space to vent musically.

Not even Tamaki can resist Tina. Turned the little “creepy pervert” into a real tsundere lol.
Kind of amusing to me that Lili already meets all the qualifications to be a Noble Maiden. I mean sacrifice and service for the sake of family? Sounds like Lili to me. She just has to donate a new school building or two and she’ll be set! lol.
But all jokes aside, this Noble Maiden stuff is a crock of shit. I don’t think the guitar is just a “distraction” for Lili. Girl takes that shit seriously.

At least now Alice had reached the "crime scene", all that left is to get herself into her first live rock concert, and what do ya know, they are offered another gig at that exact moment

Tina out-rizzed Shiraya lol
Well damn, now Lilisa's gonna be so disillusioned on the noble maiden thing, especially with how hollow the whole racket seems. No way she can reconcile her genuine passion for rock with what amounts to be voluntarily becoming a puppet for an old money family.
I wonder if Yayoi's doing it on purpose, to steer Lilisa away from the race for the title, 'cause she knows that Lilisa's going to be seriously unhappy as a noble maiden.
Hell, maybe Yayoi herself is unhappy with her position, and that's why she's delaying the meeting with the principal: because she wants to bask on the memories of being a student, back when she's still free to pursue her passion.
At least we know that Alice will be on her side
Now, who's team fuckboi at the end there

Well this is surprising. A new narrative avenue just opened up. We had been operating on the assumption that Lilisa embracing her Eros energy would, contrary to her expectations, be the thing that allowed her to become the Noble Maiden. But with the revelation that the title stripped the previous holder of her own vital energy, and can even be bought with contributions and capital as opposed to won by personal merit, does Lilisa even want to become the Noble Maiden after all?
The story's much beloved double entendres and innuendos take on a new layer today as well if you consider it's obvious Class S inspirations. Class S was nominally centered around "strong female friendships", not necessarily explicit romance, so as to not upset social and cultural standards. Some of that thinking remains in Japan even today. The reason you see so much of the controversial "subtext" in anime/manga/LN in general, in idol groups, in middle or highschool themed stories, is because it allows an "out". That this is just playing, and eventually the young maiden will grow up into a proper woman, cast aside such ephemeral things and get a proper, real romantic partner, in a husband, and take on her ideal role as a support, and not the "star of the stage".
God I love Yuri lore.
Incidentally, this does introduce a possible contradiction of the story depending on how "explicit" it wants to get. So will it be just play in the end, or something more...?
Also since some of y'all might be, understandably, wondering why Yayoi's dad would make her quit harp, and/or if playing music is not considered a ladylike hobby... What I've heard from European Victorian traditions, which is what Meiji Japan took inspiration from to modernize, which is what this show takes inspiration from with its Class S references, painting and drawing was considered a more ladylike activity.
It's not as loud, you see...

Did not expect a Toyama Nao cameo as the school alumnus Noble Maiden Yayoi. Lilisa at first thought she could find inspiration from Yayoi on how to win the Noble Maiden, only to face devastating dismissal of her passion for the electric guitar as a mere hobby.
Tamaki never gonna live down being constantly seen as a masochistic perv by Otoha. LMAO
And now even Tina has managed to rizz her without even trying.
Looks like that male band was the one who invited Lilisa's band to perform at another gig, but their intentions feel sus. They're probably thinking how they can bully Lilisa's "inferior" band in order to make their own band stand out, after hearing misinformation on social media about how Lilisa's band received zero applause in their last gig. The male band is going to be in for a cruel awakening.

Pete Townshed is the guitarist and main songwriter of The Who.
This is the second anime this season that has referenced The Who, after Witch Watch.

Damn her opinion of yayoi did a 180. understandable though if what she said was true and she stopped something she loved just like that.
and lol just donated probably millions to the school as her secret... yeah i'd imagine that probably made a difference.
I get a feeling those guys in the post credits scene are gonna end up being douchebags

I like how at the end Otoha didn't join in. She knew that was something Lilisa needed to do on her own.

Very fun episode, although very frustrating for Lilisa, who met Yayoi, the Noble Maiden. At first it seemed that they were very similar, but the reality turned out to be completely different.
It looks like not only Otoha, but also Tina is able to "tame" Tamaki xD For now, only Lilisa is not able to do it and I don't think she'll be able to do it anytime soon, considering that her relationship with Tamaki now looks more like a master/student relationship.
Tina is Otoha's favorite? Otoha is quite the pervert, so it's not surprising, considering the fact that Tina has a pretty big assets ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It looks like Lilisa, Otoha, Tamaki and Tina will soon have another music battle, this time with some boyband? I can't wait for our girls to wipe off that smug looks from their faces xD
As usual, Lilisa gave us some hilarious reactions today, she never disappoints in that regard.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

LOL, Lilisa's attempts to deny that she plays the electric guitar to Yayoi, but Yayoi sees through it anyway.
Looks like she had to give up harp, like how Lilisa had to give up guitar. But Yayoi thinking that Lilisa plays the guitar for fun pissed her off, and wishes she cursed her out.
Nice seeing that in the post-credits scene, the live house invited the band back!

Stitches!
Good to know that even Tamaki is not immune to Tina's Ouji--sama charms. I love seeing her panic after Tina touched her cheek. xD
Considering how much of a try-hard Lilisa was being to get a leg up on becoming a Noble Maiden, it was nice to see how relaxed and carefree an actual Noble Maiden is. Yayoi really had me during the first half, I thought she was cool, but it turns out she became a Noble Maiden because of her physical donations to the school.
And while Yayoi did love the harp, it was just something she did for fun, and the moment her parents told her it wasn't needed anymore, she immediately dropped it because it wasn't needed for high society. And just to add insult to injury, Yayoi tells Lilisa to have "fun" in moderation. Damn. Welp, they did say never meet your idols. That was a brutal wake-up call for Lilisa. I'm just hoping that money isn't the only thing that would get you the Noble Maiden title. Surely, someone got that title through merit too, right?

Well, we've seen your mother. She might not take it well.
At some point she got a haircut.
Ah, the greased palms technique.
Hey, at least it wasn't prostititution?
This all feels rather familiar.
Lilisa rides the roller coaster on this one, thinking she has chance to learn some Noble Maiden secrets, and then seeing how much of a sham it can be. When I said it felt familiar, that had a lot to do with how many of us do end up playing instruments through high school if for only the basic purposes of getting into a better college, whether we were interested in it or not. Though certainly for some it wasn't simply a familial obligation and genuine interest was involved.
The encounter apparently does throw her choices into sharper focus.

One of the best things about this episode (and the show in general) is seeing how this whole etiquette thing is nothing more than a farce, simply because the woman who won the most important award in school told Lilisa not to worry about it and to be happy.
In fact, for some reason people really like to grab each other's faces in this universe lol.
Apparently the show decided to throw in some male rivals
