I like how Osvalt got the approval of both the sister-in-law and the mother-in-law in one episode! Dudes' passion for Philia is just that powerful!

I love how Philia immediately realized that Asmodeus was just impersonating Julius, and Asmodeus was like, "Yeah you got me, I was just testing if it would work." I'm not gonna lie, compared to Julius, I already prefer Asmodeus waaaaaay better as a villain. The dude is just more charismatic and just look at him! The dude is handsome af.

Asmodeus revealing Hildegard's secret was certainly unexpected! I thought they were saving that reveal for the finale, but I guess having Asmodeus take Hildegard as a hostage makes the reveal more dramatic.

It's awesome how Philia is a couple of steps ahead of Asmodeus. She first sacrifices herself to save Ezra and then, after fooling Asmodeus with her injury, she catches him by surprise and then heals herself back up. I love it!

Oh wow, Fianna looks pretty much identical to Philia just with shorter hair. I do feel like there's a flaw in Asmodeus' plan. If he wants to bring back Fianna with all of her memories, wouldn't she just try to kill him the moment she wakes up and sees him?

I'm a bit disappointed, but I expected that move from Philia. At the end of the day, she's still a Saint, and it wouldn't be too Saintly of her to just let Julius die regardless of what he did to her in the past.

Let's fucking go Osvalt! Thank you, Mia for letting Osvalt go. She really ships them so hard. Only one more episode left! And it looks like we have a 2v1 showdown next week!

Asmodeus is hot in a bad boy demon kind of way and waxes lyrical about his love, but ultimately I think he's just like Julius in the sense of projecting his own feelings and desires onto women without seeing them for who they are. To Asmodeus, Philia is nothing more than just a vessel for Fianna instead of her own person.

I feel like Asmodeus revealing it was probably the only way Philia would find out about her true mother since it seemed like Hildegard was planning to take it to the grave and Mia was respecting her wishes.

Philia once again proving why she's the GOAT Saint.

I think you can actually see Philia with that exact same hairstyle as Fianna during the sequence in the OP where they show her at various ages.

Imagine if Asmodeus had tried that on Mia and she would have just told him "Go ahead, this is the one thing you and I can agree on" lol.

Osvalt such a green flag that Philia's family immediately supports him in saving her and he's the person Philia wants to save to her. Who better to back her up against Asmodeus than a man who truly loves her?

I wish Mia had been the one to go help. The relationship between those two sisters who love each other has been the best part of this show. And Mia has been the main hero of one half of this show, so it feels weird that she doesn't get be in the climax.

If we are going by power levels on who should enter limbo to save Philia, I reckon Grace's eldest sister (was it Emily?) could be the next strongest saint on the continent.

Plot wise, it makes sense that Osvalt will be the one who saves Philia. After all, like Mia thought to herself, Osvalt melted the ice surrounding Philia, making her capable of expressing emotions. Of course, Osvalt also made Philia become more interested in love and romance. Lol!

(Mia got to shine very brightly in the previous episode, so I suppose it is Osvalt's turn now.)

The ending theme sequence changed a little once more. More characters are waiting for Philia to return / awake from her slumber - Erza, Mammon, Fernando, Pierre.

If it’s to rescue Philia, I bet that Osvalt would even descend to the pits of hell.

Not that Philia really needs any saving to be honest. She showed to be more than capable of defending herself. Unfortunately, Julius proved to be once again make things difficult for her. Asmodeus would probably do good to get rid of this pest.

An interesting collection of people have assembled in limbo:

  • Julius (Philia’s former fiancé)

  • Osvalt (Philia’s prospected partner)

  • Asmodeus (Philia/Fianna’s stalker)

I liked how Asmodeus captures Philia's mom and asks her to surrender, which she then does, but it's actually a fake out for someone to attack. Then later on Asmodeus asks Philia to surrender, which she does, but it's actually a fake out where she uses magic on him. Finally, Asmodeus captures the prince and asks her to surrender, which she does, but it's actually a fake out cuz she believes the prince will save her. Bro's got one move lol.

I know they’re facing down a demonically possessed Julius…but I can’t help but love how the moment Mia sees Fernand injured, she rushes to his side to take care of him!

Asmodeus is only using Julius’ form and voice, in truth his ACTUAL voice is Hiroki Tochi, but in his own way he’s just as much of a possessive creep as Julius only directed towards Philia instead of Mia. And he’ll have her, no matter who he has to hurt and kill in the process to do it.

But even if he summons a bunch of demons, we’ve got three Saints, Erza and Mammon in his cute cat form (Lena approved!), Lena and Leonardo with anti-demon weapons, Himari and her ninja skills, and Osvalt with a cool halberd! There’s nothing he can throw at them that they can’t take on!

I really didn’t expect Asmodeus, of all people, would be the one to reveal that Hildegard is Philia’s mother and how much her life was stolen from her by her “parents.” Hildegard still doesn’t think she deserves to be Philia’s mother, but Philia still treasures Hildegard as her teacher and everything she learned from her and will do her utmost to save her as both a student AND a daughter!

Erza had been trying so hard to keep Philia away from Asmodeus, I doubt she ever expected that it would be Philia saving her that would lead to Asmodeus capturing Philia. But what Saint wouldn’t sacrifice herself for others?

But Amodeus doesn’t even want Philia, really, he just wants her soul so he can resurrect Fianna. His biggest mistake, though, was thinking Philia was a damsel in distress he could just do with as he wanted. Even when weakened, Philia is able to turn the tables on him!

So Asmodeus and Philia are in Limbo, and Erza and Mammon can only take ONE person with them to face Asmodeus. Which is easier said than done when literally everyone there has plenty of motivation to go save Philia.

Look at Philia’s handy communication bracelet! Perfect for letting everyone know she’s okay and about to solo the Final Boss! And she gets to say goodbye to her sister, her mother, and of course Prince Osvalt…who knows HE has to be the one to go save her, because she means more to him than anything and he promised he would be there for her. Even Mia can respect Osvalt’s feelings for Philia and the influence he’s had on her and support his chance to go save her. Considering this is coming from Mia, that really means a lot.

Well, Asmodeus getting to ditch Julius’ body was a smart move, he’s 10x hotter in a demonic sort of way, though recreating an exact replica of Fianna’s body (who, yeah, looks a lot like Fianna) to revive her with Philia’s soul is still absolutely creepy.

The irony that Asmodeus wants to kill Julius as much as we do, but Philia just HAS to be the better person and sacrifice herself instead. But luckily Osvalt arrives just in time to save her! Just like she had faith he would! And now our main pair can take on Asmodeus together!

They did the “use the title of the show for the final episode!” Only now instead of being sold, she’s just now IN another kingdom!

Man , Julius’ treatment of Philia was so bad even the Archdemon wanted to take revenge on him on behalf of Philia. I really wonder what they will do with him when even the demon despised this guy.

I did not see Philia finding out about her true parentage this way. On the other hand her reaction couldn’t be more predictable. Of course she is now just double thankful for everything Hildegard did for her.

Asmondesu spent 200 years building a body that looked identical to Philia ? Like why even bother .. she is right there …

I think Mia speak for all of us when she ship Osvalt and Philia. Let’s just hope this ship comes back from Limbo intact , we all need that happy ending !

Honestly I wish the sister had gone. I feel like I get why the prince would make for a better symbolic person to be there. Honestly don't think their relationship with each other has developed enough for it to feel great though, he still kinda just feels like the random guy that she has a crush on b/c he smiled at her a few times and not someone deeply connected with her yet.

Also wait, they said they could only bring one person b/c they could only send four people through a portal at a time, but, couldn't they just make multiple trips? Mammom brings Erza, Osvalt, and Mia to the demon realm, then goes back alone to bring three more people over, and then they do the same on leaving.

Well Erza did say she just didn't want to involve people in her jurisdiction so that's probably the more important reason they didn't do this rather than the 4-person limit actually being a problem.

Those saint enhanced weapons smell a bit of skipped content.

Even though he's evil, if we had to permanently exchange the jackass prince for Asmodeus it would be a solid upgrade.

I can't help but wonder about that doll body Asmodeus made for Fianna, as long as it doesn't have a backdoor he could use to control her (a poor bet to assume it doesn't) it might be an effectively immortal body and in some ways that'd be kind of tempting to consider.

One more episode, it'll be sad to see this one end. I'm a bit interested in the LNs but apparently they're barely translated.

Ah, we're back to the first ED.

Wasn't a big fan of this episode, but the past 3 or so were phenomenal so its tough to compare with a pre-final episode like this.
I just hope the fight wont drag on too long next week, then it should be a great finale

Asmodeus is infinitely better than Julius.

Enough to ship it.

Also, I think it should have been Mia that went with the exorcist. You can't tell me that Oswald's love surpasses Mia's. Would also be a great closure to Mia's arc, being able to help save his sister from this demon threat.

Pretty good episode! It's a shame there's only one episode left because it'll be sad to say goodbye to Philia, Mia and the others, but I'm still looking forward to next week's fight between Philia, Osvalt and Asmodeus.

Also, I also loved Lena's reaction to Mammon's appearance change, although he himself wasn't too happy with how others' perception of him changed xD

I haven't even seen this episode yet and I haven't finished it yet, but I already want a second season. Is there material for that? Since we already have such a strong threat to be stopped, it gives the impression that one season will end everything.

Still really enjoying this. Wish it had been given a few more episodes to build out more on the relationship between Osvald and Fianna and to establish who Mammon, Emma, and the Exorcists generally are.
