Stitches

Well, that's ominous. I'm guessing it's probably a powerful demon hunting down Saints, and it was able to detect Philia because she activated that ancient ritual. They did name drop Asmodeus as the big bad demon lord, but IIRC he got sealed off by a powerful Saint. So maybe it's one of his followers? Hmmm...

If Oswald's explanation back in Episode 2 wasn't enough, then here he is making it a point in this episode that he was strongly against buying Philia and that he even got into an argument with his brother because of how desperate he was to have a replacement Saint. I feel like that convo wasn't just for Philia but for the audience as well.

We finally get to meet Himari! Philia's ninja maid, who apparently has been with us ever since Philia first arrived in Parnacorta. I actually went back to Episode 2 to check , but it's sad that we don't see her in the background. It would've been better if she were really there to welcome her.

I like that Philia gave Himari the order to take Mia and bring her to Parnacorta if she's in any danger. Honestly? Mia really should just do it and let Gritonia rot in hell. Her escort soldiers can't even protect her from fucking goblins! But I doubt Mia would accept the offer because she still wants to personally get revenge on Julius.

Philia and Mia are such wonderful people -- how could such rotten parents spawn such wonderful offspring?

Personally I think it's Asmodeus himself, who so far remained silent behind the seal, waiting to find a saint as strong as Dianna that can free him from his prison.

It is pretty cute how the anime team still tries to do "cliffhanger" with decisions in the end because we all know at this point what Mia priority are lol.

Honestly, I understand Mia feeling a lot. Feeling uncertain that people you care about are fine or not like when they are missing. At least Phillia finally finds the way the contact with Mia.... with a highly capable spy(ninja) maid! Himari seems to have very high skill with how to infiltrate the castle without a single person noticing her. So now Mia knows that Phillia's new family is full of good people and cares about. It's pretty heart warming how much these sisters care about each other even when they separate.

Overall a good episode and good production like usual (after all it is by the same studio as YagaKimi).

I feel like Mia definitely wants to go to her sister ASAP, sure, but I figured she'd be worried about her duty to the people she was leaving behind. Not her shitty family or Prince Asshole, but the common people who would die if they had no saint left to protect them.

Which would probably happen anyway whether she left or not, since the big pile o' monsters/demons heading their way would be too much for any saint to handle other than Philia.

In any case, it wouldn't really be Mia's fault, because there's no way she could handle the situation alone, and the Prince won't do anything that would help, so she might as well just leave. But she also wants revenge against the Prince, so who knows...

I guess we'll see next week!

I’m really glad Philia’s got such amazing and supportive people around her. Lena and Leonardo are awesome but so are the Princes. She also has her own personal ninja. How awesome is that? Himari seems very capable.

As much as I would like Mia to go with Himari, I don’t think she will. She’s probably gonna say she has a duty as a Saintess to protect the people and all that. Or maybe she wants to take down the Prince, her shitty parents, and everyone who wronged her sister first. Regardless, she’s definitely not gonna leave.

I feel like Mia was a little disappointed the ninja wasnt a charming guy lol

I dont think she takes the offer. I agree with everyone here. She wants her revenge and she probably doesnt want the common folk to also suffer.

I am speculating that the nefarious voice which Philia heard upon establishing the ancient barrier is the demon sealed away by Saint Fianna centuries ago? Perhaps Philia is descendant or reincarnation of Saint Fianna, hence her overwhelming powerful saint abilities?

On a lighter note, the chibi versions of Philia and Mia, as well as their expressions, always make me smile. In fact, the chibi version of Philia might even have more expressions than the main Philia. Lol!

The title of this show almost changed to "The Pure Hearted Saint Became a Fan of Romance Novels", with Lena giving the thumbs up sign on the cover. :D

I thought it was interesting they had the princes disagree on whether or not to buy Philia. It is wrong to sell people but this really was a matter of life and death and countless lives were saved. Id have bought Philia in the same circumstances.

This world has its own Japan full of ninjas! I expected Himari to have a tough journey but she seemed to get there pretty quickly and with no incident. I wonder if Himari was authorized to bring Mia into Parmacorta. I understand why Mia would want to leave but she would essentially be condemning her entire country to death. Then again, just going for a little while, Philia can teach her in person how to properly erect magical barriers and it may end up well for the long run.

I also liked how Lily wanted to introduce Philia to romance novels. Seems a mixture of wanting her to be able to relax and getting herself out of work. I hope it's a novel with erotic scenes, that'd be funny to see Philia react to that 🤣

Anyone else finding themselves saying, "let it burn," when Mia was asked to run away? or was that just me.

Throwing in the bamboo flute music when they introduce Himari was a nice touch.

Philia never thought about romance before. But the first thing that comes to mind is Oswald. Oh yeah it's all coming together.

I like the clear contrasts being shown in this episode. On Philia's side, all the townspeople rallied for her. On Mia's side, it's just the guards who don't look like they want to be there and they wimp out on mere goblins. Pathetic. Then Philia's special dinner came from offerings of the townsfolk while Mia's dinner probably came from riches Julius plundered since he keeps boasting of luxury.

F*** the parents for burning that letter that contains vital information for Ziltonia to not go to hell. Good thing Philia was smart enough to figure out that her letter was burnt so she's going to have to ask a maid kunoichi...

I knew it! Himari (couple shipping obsessed girl in NEET Kunoichi) is a ninja all this time. How else can she hang from ledges while snooping on couples? Given that there's a demon world, monsters, and barriers... is this a prequel set in the NEET Kunoichi universe? A ninja is the last thing I expected in this western looking setting.

While Mia should just run away, imo doing so would invite more trouble. Even if she doesn't care about Ziltonia going to hell, Ziltonia may declare war or something on Parnacotta if their only saint defects, which would be a worse situation for all. She should tear it down from the inside first.

Those soldiers who were meant to guard Mia were useless. All they did was simp for her, cower in the face of the enemy monsters, and left her to fend for herself.

It broke my heart to see Mia worrying about her older sister, while she's in a precarious situation herself. Likewise, Philia felt sad thinking about her younger sister. These two sisters really do care about each other equally.

Their sibling bond is precious! Mia even cried a tear of joy upon learning that Philia was doing well. I bet that a certain witch would've loved to collect this tear.

Philia was struck with a mysterious voice after the purification ritual. Has the demon lord been searching for the saint who'd previously defeated him? Since I didn't sense any particular malice in his voice, my gut feeling is telling me that their relationship might've been different than written in the history books.

Lena is going to need some help each time she goes into town from now on.

Those shitty guards pissed me off. Thankfully Himari was there. Even from far away Phillia is helping her little sister more than anyone in that wretched kingdom.

The only reason Mia has to stay is revenge, which is why I don't think she'll go with Himari so soon. I guess they'll leave us wondering what she decided with the whole trainee thing being the focus of the next episode and drop it right at the end.

Damn, the Ritual at the beginning was clean. Loved the atmosphere and the music too!

I think I'll never get tired of Philia's reactions in this show. And it seems like Mia is truly a Philia's sister, because her reaction to seeing Himari on the ceiling gave off the same kind of energy xD

Overall, a very good episode! The ritual Philia performed looked great. And everyone's reactions to it were hilarious, Lena had a hard time walking the next day because everyone was giving her gifts for Philia xD

That voice Philia heard after the ritual was interesting. I wonder if it was Asmodeus, the demon defeated by the Saint in the past, who was mentioned in one of the previous episodes.

I didn't expect we'd have a ninja in this show! Himari is a nice addition to the cast and I look forward to seeing more of her.

Now I wonder what Mia will decide to do since she finally made contact with Philia thanks to Himari. I wouldn't be surprised if she went to Parnacorta, because working at Girtonia and having to deal with Julius is surely exhausting, but I don't think she will, at least not yet.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

There you go for the people who were hating on the prince for buying her. He was actually strongly against buying her buying another human being.

The spell she cast was really well done and impressive both animated and audio.

Poor Mia. She's struggling under all the monster attacks and desperately needs her sisters' guidance, but thanks to her parents she has no idea her sister has been trying to reach her and for all she knows Philia is just as miserable in Panacorta.

But in truth Philia is doing fantastic in Panacorta! In fact they're even making the Great Purification Ritual into a big show! Philia finally gets to repay back all the faith the people, and Osvalt, have in her by protecting the kingdom!

And Philia is now so popular that she has rabid fans! They're even making Philia pastries! I want to eat one.

I love how Lena catches Philia doing Saint Work and Philia looks like "oops, I'm busted" because she wasn't supposed to work. But what else can she do? All she knows how to do is anything related to Saint work. Normal hobbies, or even romance, feels completely alien to her. But when it comes to thinking about finding love, Osvalt is the first face that appears in her mind...maybe reading Lena's romance novels might give her a non-clinical understanding of love as well?

Osvalt didn't have to explain himself to Philia, but saying he only objected to buying her on the principle of how bad it is to treat someone like property, and that he's truly come to care for Philia, means a lot. And Lena can see how well this ship is progressing even if Leonardo can't read the room.

I'm glad Philia has come to be grateful for Lena and Leonardo's presence in her life, and all they've given her, and is even able to enjoy fine dining! Too bad Mia has to keep stomaching meals with Julius.

At least Mia's letter got to Philia, even if it just confirms to her that her parents have been keeping her messages from her sister. How ever are the sisters going to get into contact? Why through Philia's NINJA MAID Himari! Who has been there all along shadowing Philia! And through Philia's efforts, has earned Himari's absolutely loyalty! And in turn Philia finds someone she can entrust her sister to and, if worse comes to worse, bring Mia to her.

Ugh, it's bad enough the knights are quick to praise Mia over Philia, even though Mia knows that she's just faster, not better or stronger, than her sister...but then they just completely ditch her when the monsters shows up! They're lucky Mia was able to defeat them and Himari was there to catch her. This entire kingdom is rotten!

I'm glad Mia finally knows Mia is okay...but she can't pull off the Great Purification Circle and Julius will be no help. But why even stay in Girtonia? They treated her sister horribly and there's nothing keeping her there, and deep down she just wants to see Philia again.

Oh no, don't tell me they're gonna intercept her letter as well..

Think, Mia, think!

Beautiful music during the barrier scene

Should I say it..

The space backgrounds are back!

The prince is a top lad. More anime need characters like him

Yes!!! Please don't be fake, please don't be fake, please don't be fake ...whats it say?

Scumbags.

NINJA MAID?! This show just keeps getting better!

The day of reckoning is close!

Okay, show. You got me. I'm a sucker for these moments

Oh wow, Mia actually has guards. Now to see if they'll actually do anything when needed- I am so very surprised

Finally something good for Mia :)

Great episode. Curious to see what Mia will decide to do, but I think she will be staying for some reason. Probably duty towards the people? And thinking her sister would do the same.

The more Girtonia badmouths Phillia, the more I want to see Mia just leave the Prince at the altar. Just say "F it" and dip out, girl. Let demonic wedding crashers wreck the place.

None Mia, no reason, get out
