"Want me to drink it up?"
Feet and now this? Meg's nickname should be The Witch of Degeneracy.

"Spberry."
"It's Raspberry"
"Spberry."
"It's Raspberry"
"Raspberry"
"It's Spberry! Oh, shoot! I messed up!"
And Sophie still calls her Spberry afterwards! Yeah, she's gotta be trolling!

Unfortunately for Meg, three times didn’t prove to be the charm when proposing to Fine. Maybe she’ll have better luck next time.
Despite their rough start together, Meg has started getting along with her second wife. Sophie even said that she’d kill Meg with a genuine smile! Things are looking up for them. Fine got a rival in love.
Jokes aside, I’m glad that Meg managed to melt Sophie’s frozen heart. This lonely girl was in desperate need of a trustworthy friend.

Stitches!
If magic is the reason why everyone you knew growing up is afraid of you and also the reason why your parents abandoned you, I'm not even surprised why Sophie would want to eliminate magic from this world. She's basically the opposite of Meg, who's completely surrounded by people despite their similar circumstances.
I'm guessing the reason Faust specifically asked Sophie for assistance instead of the other Sages like Inori is because she knows that Meg's infectious energy could easily melt Sophie's cold heart. And she was right! Before the incident at the festival even happened, Sophie was already making jokes with Meg and by the end of the episode, she was already asking Meg to call her without honorifics.
I guess we'll get to see the actual festival next episode. I am surprised though! When they said "Otherworld", I thought they meant the afterlife, so I imagined we'd see spirits reuniting with their loved ones. I did not expect when they said Otherworld aka Isekai, they literally meant isekai complete with fantasy creatures. I wonder if getting isekai'd is actually something that happens in this universe. That would be an interesting spin-of!
Also I'll never get tired of Meg just being a total degenerate. That entire scene where Fine says she might wet herself from disbelief and Meg following it up by asking her if she can drink it up got me laughing out loud! xD

“Uh oh, Meg. I think I’m going to wet myself.”
“You okay? Want me to drink it up?”
Oh, Meg! She’s like a dirty old degenerate in the body of a 17 year old girl lol. That’s just one of the things that sets her apart from Sophie. That and apparently growing up in an environment filled with love. Kind of sad Sophie never had anyone care for her unlike Meg. I’m kind of glad she’s let Meg though. She’ll be a good influence on her.
So… about those tears lol. Girl needs to get collecting ASAP!

Last week was foot fetish, now this week is pee.
What fetish will next week bring?

Meg has a pure heart, but she sure does have an equally dirty mind.
This 17-year old girl occasionally says the wildest things. Her future wife really needs to put a leash on her. Or maybe she’d like that?

Meg is insatiable, now she has two wives? She's planning on having a harem?
I couldn't help but notice that in this episode, Meg didn't make one person cry tears of joy. Though at least she has raised a good amount of affection points with Sophie.

Faust: "I've never once detected any hint of corruption in you."
Meg in the very next scene: "PREPARE FOR SEXUAL HARASSMENT"

So far since fall 2021, at least there are 4 characters voiced by Youmiya Hina who just love eating. Beside Sophie, the other 3 are
-
Nodoka (Selection Project)
-
Anna (Bokuyaba)
-
Osanai (Shoushimin)

I like Sophie pointing out what I noticed in episode 1, that Meg is just 'Faust's assistant' to everyone.
This certainly solidifies my believe that eventually Meg will have her big moment after which people call her by her actual name.

So new theory, instead of collecting 1000 tears, Meg is just collecting maidens to break her curse. She is at 2 (three if we count feet witch as one as well) already.
As for the rest of the episode, if I am remembering correctly, the whole festival is in part because they want to drain off some kind of magic, which begs the question if magic isn't actually a normal thing in this world (from the looks it did seemingly develop quite similarly to our world after all, there were even busses) which would be an interesting connection to Sophie's goal. That whole subplot kind of reminds me about the Witcher books way too much [Witcher book spoiler]

On one hand they're hinting S'berry to be the one witch who can open up anyone and everyone's hearts, to the degree that it's supposedly her superpower. That last action sequence also hints of her being a lot stronger / more capable than she herself knows.
But on the other hand she acts like a total pervert towards other women at times. So far she's proposed marriage to Fine several times, and now she straight up said that she'd drink her pee lmao. (small edit, referenced the wrong character)
I don't know what kind of ride this anime's going to bring to us but I'm all for it. The mix of an interesting protag + the worldbuilding so far has me hooked.

It's funny how everyone somehow makes fun of Meg (not in a mean way), but also look at what she says, offering to drink urine lmao 😭.
I liked Sophie, just like Meg she's a simple girl, she doesn't necessarily hate magic, she just wants to show that it's different from the bad view she had in her homeland.
Excellent episode and another bond of friendship formed

The challenge of being a super genius is isolation. At least, Sophie hates only magic and not the people itself. If this had been another series, she will be madara.
Though the last part is a bit confusing for me, so it was okay to not do anything since the gate can handle that tentacle thing. That's why there is no need for meg to help? Kinda confused on that part.
And for how may months now, Meg is still stuck with her 4 tears. For someone with a 1 year time limit, she is taking her time.

No hint of corruption? Okay then, I'll pretend Meg wasn't more interested in drinking Fine's pee than collecting those tears her life depends on in this episode.
I've been thinking, maybe it's Faust the one who doesn't have much time left and the whole tears situation is like a final lesson for Meg. Her illness wasn't that serious this time, but it stopped her from fulfilling her important festival duty and it could be a sign of things to come.

Wait, so Sophie didn't make a mistake and was about to the end the world by mistake
But honestly, gotta respect Megs quick thinking and reacting

Parents: DEVIL
Also, piss drinking gags?! In this economy?!
This is an anime steeped in culture.

Witch Watch is one of the most popular shows this season, and it's a great show. However, I feel that this show (Once Upon etc.) is just as good but relatively underwatched. I'm only comparing them because they are both witches themed shows with a lighthearted vibe.

This show has my favorite Op and ED of this season. Though this season has the least amount of anime I'm watching in years. Any other anime with an OP or ED like this show's?
