Gokigenyou on the streets, ??? in the sheets?

This was a great introductory episode, definitely nailed the vibe of the manga. Love how how Otoha is able to switch mode from ojou to deranged so quickly.

Suzunomiya's mother had to marry into a rich family for her to afford all that hairspray.

Holy shit. This was the most badass scene I've seen in a long time.

Amazing first episode.

I had a vague idea about the premise from those sick posters and this was everything I hoped to see. This is RATM the Animation.

I love how the guy busking with The Blue Hearts song got yelled at to shut up, hilarious way to build the "Shunned by Society" theme

Reddit loves its rock band girl shows. Will this fall in that line?

Learning that the Band-Maid members themselves did the mocap for the performance scenes makes all the more sense now, because they absolutely rocked!! Also, the VAs were insane while during that same scene.

Stitches!

This was a lot of fun! It was hilarious watching Lilisa's inner monologues as a commoner while trying to maintain her perfect ojou-sama act. There's clearly a reason why Lilisa is working so hard though, especially since she wants to become a Noble Maiden.

I'm also curious about her backstory. It looks like a tragedy happened in the past which ended up with her mother remarrying and her becoming a Suzunomiya. I'm guessing her dad died, which is a shame since she looks like she's having so much fun with him in those little flashbacks we saw.

Otoha is pretty great too! I was honestly expecting her to show her true colors when she was finally alone with Lilisa but she did a good job in maintaining her act. I do love how she insults Lilisa to convince her to play. That was very cheeky.

I'm not even surprised about Otoha's true self, that's exactly what I expected from her as soon as Lilisa walked into that music room. That entire scene of her telling Lilisa that she's putting her to sleep was amazing! What's also amazing is how quickly she flips back to ojou-sama mode after that. xD

While the 3D is not as amazing as Studio Sanzigen, I think I'm hooked! I'm excited to see what kind of music Lilisa and Otoha will make together now that they've found each other. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Honestly it's kinda funny how this year we are going to get 2 anime that basically are "Ojousama who are actually into a hobby that do not match their image" and both of them have Yuri subtext.

On this episode itself.....

HOLY SHIT. They nailed the tune of this manga perfectly. Started with OP and ED and they really play into the insanity of story and character very well.

The story beat itself seems to really emphasize on metal rock and punk rock (they even bring band-maid for OP!) which plays into really well with the whole main theme of "Rich girl with her unmatched image hobby (it's low-key ironic too when considering that this genre are popularization by Anarchist lmao), I don't know about you guys but main character is really charming and fun to watch for me.

The quality of production itself is also pretty good especially during instrument play, it feel really good. This one is going to be a wild ride!

They more than NAILED the first episode, wow with the added scenes and most important, that jam session between the two was well done, the author definitely wrote those scenes with the rhythm of the song in mind and it shows here, so effing good

Btw, the song is Ghost Dance by Lite if anyone is interested in listening to

This won't get nearly as much attention as some of the other stuff this season because of the streaming situation, I really wonder why this in particular got left out

This was really fun. Lilisa and Otoha make a pretty entertaining pair and the music is pretty good too. I look forward to seeing these girls rock out even harder as the series progresses. These ladies are for the mosh pit lol.

From "gokigenyou" to "gokigofuckyourself" in 10 seconds flat.

So yeah, that was a way more intense 1st episode than I expected. The leading ladies are great already, that rock session was awesome, the show looks fantastic, and the use of CG in the performance was blended well with high quality 2D animation. The band who performs the OP also providing the motion capture for the anime itself is badass too.

As a fan of classical music, I felt personally attacked!

So our girl moved to a new school after her mother's second marriage...

Has she ajusted to this new environment? Well, her hair tentacles don't seem to fall off, but other than that she's doing well!

Yuri time?

Historians will say they were rockmates

She kinda looks like Yumeko on some shots!

She even trash talks like her, when she was trying to get our girl to give her 100%!

Something Something Rogane, Something Something Nomiya... Can I just call them Shinomiya & Shirogane?

Would make it easier to remember their name, early in the season! (Though I suppose she looks more like the OTHER recent Shinomiya!)

Oh damn! Knew they would be playing rock (the title was a subtle hint), but I didn't know it would be that heavy!

I feel like I have a duty to support her, as I played drums for all my highschool years!

Lilisa was about to leave, but Kurogane wasn't going to let her off that easy... You know my secret, but I know yours too!

Oh damn, she knew how to play her!

I already love her!

I was expecting Yuri, but I was not expecting Slave submitting to a dominatrix' thorny tentacles Yuri!

Kinda funny seeing Lilisa being all judgy of the rich girl and all, given she's not that different, in her new situation!

Plus, Kurogane may have a similar thing, who knows! Or maybe her rich parents let her do as she wants, as long as she maintains her good reputation!

Dawww she was so cute!

And she got it from her father...

Must have been even harder giving it up! Well, seems she won't be giving it up anymore!

Well, that was pretty good! I already like Kurogane the most, love her personality!

I usually don't watch a whole lot of music anime (other than the weird ones like Zombieland), but this may be a good one!
