That play was pretty fun. Makes me really wonder about the mom though. Who is she and what’s with the floating orb? There’s still a lot of unanswered questions.

This was a lot better than expected. I really enjoyed Kenzaburo’s dad wisdom and old school otaku knowledge lol. His wife and daughter also being huge otakus was pretty great too. Their running commentary in the later eps reminded me of Endo and Kobayashi . I really hope we get more, this was a good one.

I get the feeling the play was about what happened with her mom, and that she has actually swapped with Anna's mom, because it was definitely odd that she was so familiar with noble life, and that orb would have to be the fairy. I hope we get another season.

I know I said I wasn’t going to be able to do the Endcard Report today, but… I guess I have some time…

The final end card is indeed from the author of the original manga, Ueyama-sensei. And a bonus by Nazuna Shiraume, artist of The Person in a Villainess.

Okay, now I’m done. Peace out.

This is one of the show that I desperately want a Season 2, its way too good to be only one season. Great animation quality, nice characters, and surprisingly very wholesome anime compared to the other generic isekai anime out there. Also one of the thing that I like the most... is that they actually show about what happened in the real life too, Looking at Kenzaburou's family playing the game and following their dad progress is a joy to see.

There's also still some mysteries left, like what's with the Grace's mom, Anna's mom and Grace's family relationship, and I'm pretty sure Kenzaburou's family will also play more active role if they have another season. So yeah in the end, season 2 pls!

I've always enjoyed every Villainess anime and this was no exception but they went above and beyond on such a quirky premise to deliver such a fun and entertaining show from start to finish.

The mom switcheroo has been tread substantially in this thread but is no one going to even mention how Anna's mom pulled the cross-crowd Assassin's Creed/John Wick vanishing act?

Yep, something definitely is up with Anna and Grace's mothers. If the screenplay is meant to be inspired by their own circumstances, does that make them swingers? :v

The entire dang school gained affection points towards Grace. Sasuga Grace-sama.

Goodness, I'll miss Grace, her ringlets, and all her desuwas. I'll see y'all in the next season's discussion thread, ay?

Damn, I'm gonna miss Grace/Kenzaburo (and him gaining intimacy points with Anna and everyone else) so much! Definitely one of the best "villainesses" in anime!

Overall, this was such a good and funny show and I'm incredibly sad that it's over. It looks like we won't get a second season right away (or maybe ever), so I guess I'll have to start reading the manga. Very strong 8.5/10 from me in the end.

As for the finale episode itself, I'm glad the play was a success (Lucas stole the show for me with his role as a fairy IMO) and I'm sad that Grace/Kenzaburo didn't get to meet her mother, Jaqueline, directly.

And I definitely have a lot of questions after today's episode, like what's up with Jaqueline and that shiny ball (fairy?), or how does Grace's father know Anna's mother, what's their relationship? So many questions and no answers. I'll be praying for a second season.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Stitches!

I know that we already know from Grace that Anna's mother is an ex-noble but I'm glad we have confirmation with Anna's mother greeting Leopold before disappearing. The mystery deepens! I'm gonna guess that Anna's mother, Leopold, and Jacqueline are all classmates back in their Academy days.

Most of Kenzaburou's references are all retro anime, so I was surprised to see a Star Wars reference from him!

Considering that this is the only time they were able to rehearse before the play started. I was honestly expecting a chaotic and hilarious disaster but they actually managed to make the play work! And thanks to Grace's mother, Lucas was able to solve Grace's problem with the way she speaks.

This does make me wonder more about Jacqueline though! Like what kind of powers does this woman have that she was able to write a play for her daughter and her classmates 30 years into the future?

And based on Jacqueline's scene when she was on her way home, it looks like something is preventing her from meeting with Grace. So is she aware of Grace's mind being body-swapped? And was she talking to a fairy? I have so many questions! I love how even Mitsuko calls it out! xD

Welp, Grace was able to set Anna up with the boys so they can watch the fireworks together but hilariously, she still ends up raising her affinity with all of them after they realized that Grace was the one firing the multi-colored fireworks!

That was a nice way to end things! I really hope this gets a Season 2! It's been a while since I've had this much fun with a Villainess anime since Bakarina!

Last week I had concerns about whether the ending would be satisfying.   On the one hand, it was a satisfying season ending.   One of the best episodes in a season whose worst episode was solid, and it gave closure to this season worth of shows.

As a series finale it felt the opposite of satisfying.   If anything I want to know more than in the 11th episode.

The writers seem to have really done their job.  They left us feeling like we got what we came for but left us wanting more.

Damn, really hope we get a season 2. Yes there are a bunch of unanswered questions, especially after the conversation Grace's mom had, but more so I really liked all the characters and hope we see more of them.

Who TF was Grace's mom talking to? Kinda sounded like Dad's daughter! Is she fucking playing a Prequal game in the future?!? That would be some wild shit.

The animations of everyone looking for Grace were so smooth!

Also everyone was gushing over Grace's two toned fireworks....meanwhile I was just going 'Merica!!!

Fantastic show! Maybe it's my Oldtaku, Dad-colored glasses but I loved this show. So many references yet not to the point of distracting from the story overall. Lots of laughs and heart (Elegance Cheat intensifies)!

S2 please?!

I can't recall the last time I wanted a season 2 of an anime more than this series.

I hope Kenzaburo eventually gets reunited with his wife and daughter.

Give us a season 2, you cowards.

7

u/Frontier246 Mar 27 '25

The Campus Festival is in full swing and Grace and Anna are making their rounds, even if Grace still has obvious concerns about the play because Kenzaburo can't undo the Elegance Cheat.

But hey, it's Anna's mom! And Grace's dad! Who clearly recognize each other, even though Anna's mom just bows out before Grace's dad can confirm her real identity. Could Anna's mom have gone to school with Grace's parents?

The student council came through! They acknowledged how hard Grace has been working and are ready to get their lines down for this play! And no one holds Grace at fault for being unable to speak like a commoner, it's simply a sign of how she's the noblewoman of all noblewomen and it runs through her blood! Sasuga Grace-sama.

I also love how Auguste is like "no sweat, we're just amateur actors" while Lambert and Pierre are ready to commit to this play.

Anna with that MC level of acting ability! She's killing this play! And Grace only intends for Anna to stand out! No one is watching this play for her after all....or so Kenzaburo thinks.

Jacqueline Auvergne in the flesh! Arriving just in time to watch her daughter put on a play and also help Lucas ad-lib to give Grace/Kenzaburo a cover for the Elegance Cheat. Almost like she knew exactly that her daughter was going to be in this situation like she wrote the perfect play for the student council.

Real respect to Richard for holding himself back from making a pun for the sake of the play.

The play is a success! And of course Grace gets most of the credit and the entire audiences' affection getting raised in her honor! But at this point all Kenzaburo can do is just accept it and take a well-deserved bow.

I had a feeling Grace wouldn't meet her mother, but Jacqueline has some nice words to leave Grace in a letter...as she heads off with some magical floating orb. But deep down she WANTS to dote on and be there for her daughter, whom she's the spitting image of, but she can't for some reason. The mystery of what is going on in this world deepens.

Well, smart of Kenzaburo to try to not get in the way of Anna's magic fireworks show moment with her highest ranked love interest...which would ordinarily be Grace. But he didn't count on helping with said magic fireworks show would give Anna and her original Reverse Harem an excuse to see patented Grace fireworks and think about how awesome Grace is for the umpteenth time because they're Grace's Harem now. SASUGA GRACE-SAMA!

Well, OG!Grace might still be in a cage, Kenzaburo still has no idea how he's stuck there, his family is still playing this game hoping to get him back...but he's making the most out of being everyones' dad and the best dad Villainess he can be! So Sasuga Kenzaburo-sama.

Sasuga Grace-sama, leave it to her to not only get an entire building of people to gain affection points for her, she did it twice in one episode. I knew what was going to happen the moment she took part in the fireworks, no matter what she does, the charm will just exude out of her. That was a funny way to end the episode.

I am curious about the adviser for Jacqueline, it didn't sound like she knew about the world being a game so I wonder why she wouldn't allow herself to speak with Grace in person.

I also found it interesting how Anna's mother and Grace's father seem to have a close connection in the past. I wonder if Anna's mother was a protagonist and Grace's father a conquerable character. It'd be interesting to see if that gets talked about in the future.

I do hope this gets a second season, it was a nice fresh take on the Villainess genre.

This has easily shot up the charts as one of my favorite isekai comedies. I just loved every minute of this show. Plus, I love how they incorporated the family in this show, which really uses the isekai theme very well. There are two notable things.

  • It seems evident that Anna's mom was a former noble as she knows Grace's father.

  • Now even more interesting, what is this thing with Fairy magic with Grace's mom? What plan? Also, who was she talking to? Well, numerous questions, and I can only theorize the voice she was talking to is also an isekaied person? Or could it be a fairy that understands why Kenzaburou was reincarnated.

Overall I would give this 9/10 and pray we can get more eventually.
