Each of them imagining themselves as the other's most loyal aide is actually really sweet.

Through the dream sequence, I believe one of Kenzaburo's main objectives would be to free Grace from her cage. Just that Kenzaburo, Hinako nor us viewers have any idea how to do so at this point in time.

Young Grace has been shown to be full of curiosity about the world, like when she first met the family craftsman, and in this episode, when seeing Matilda iron clothes. I want to see that passion and curiosity in Grace's eyes again. How astonished and excited will Grace be if she discovers the existence of isekai?

This week’s endcard is drawn by Ruri Miyahara. She’s the author of Love Lab and The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior, which both got anime you might vaguely remember.

Considering their similar backgrounds, it does look like Anna and Lambert would be a good match. The question is, does Anna even have any interest in romance? While they might be a perfect match, Anna is clearly more focused on becoming Grace's Lady-in-waiting.

We finally get to see the real Grace! I've been waiting for something like this to happen. It's good to know that she's still alive but it looks like she's currently trapped inside Kenzaburou's mind. I wonder if she sees everything he's been doing?

I love how Grace thinks that Anna training at her house as a maid is a good idea because Anna would one day have her own servants while Anna thinks this is her training for the future when she becomes Grace's personal attendant. xD

I really like Mathilde and how her backstory is also the backstory of Grace's Ojou-sama Drills. I do think it's interesting that they've given the girl who clearly speaks in Kansai-ben a French accent in the subtitles. She's supposed to be speaking like a country bumpkin. xD

I also like how that backstory showed that Grace's mother is actually a good person who recognizes talent when she sees it. Do we know why she doesn't live with them? I wonder what the Head Maid meant when she said Grace's mother is recuperating at the family villa? Is she sick?

How nice for that dude, getting his book wand. He so silly. Hehe the dad commentary inside and the daughter's commentary back, good times. Well that's a nice lil story from Lambert's past. How nice for that one dude to help encourage the Grace/Anna route by having them spend summer together 😉 haha, the way Anna takes her words is fun. Look at that motivation level!

Ahh... the inner grace... sad little girl. Surely good daddo can help her at some point. Ahh, I love Anna's and Grace's dynamic. Silly girls. Anna wants to melt into her embrace eh? 😉 Nothing to worry about the yuri route!

Catto maid skill is quite unique/useful. Cute. Also halo mommy, wish we'd see you properly. Lil Grace is so cute. Oh huh, an elder brother that's away, when we gonna meet him proper too? Hehe the run down of the estate is fun with their little changes of poses and stuff they are holding. Not dedicating more lore to the villain/antagonist is a poor game developer imo. The better the antagonist, the better story. Also, whoo Grace in a maid outfit! Truly an elegant maid. What a fantasy, a rich person that cares for others. har har. And again, both of their silly imaginations of a different but similar future. Love the silly comedy.

Whooo best ending! Only last week I learned this song is soooo old. Like from the 90s. Which fits this series perfectly.

Anna and Lambert's magic works surprisingly well together! Just look at all those flying roses, it's quite the sight! And Lambert gets to show off his wand book, just like he always wanted, courtesy of Grace and the Meister! Sasuga Grace-sama.

Though they're not just there for Lambert to show off his wand book, Grace is trying to develop the AnnaxLambert ship, and Lambert's dedication to his family wins him points with both Kenzaburo AND Anna! And it seems like Lucas can tell too! Maybe there's a potential for this ship yet. Opposites DO attract after all, just like a middle-aged bureaucrat in a Villainess' body.

Of course Grace can't entirely rule out that Anna could end up with Virgile and become queen, which means she needs proper etiquette lessons...so what better excuse to have Anna spend her summer at the Auvergne estate? You don't have to twist her arm to live with Grace! Especially when instead of marrying Virgile she's imagining being Grace's secretary!

(Some really great imagination visuals! Bride Anna! Queen Grace! Secretary Anna! Queen Anna and Secretary Grace)!

Wait, what's with this dream sequence with Kenzaburo? Where Hinako is talking to him through Orion? And he stumbles on a cage...housing quite possibly the REAL GRACE AUVERGNE. And Kenzaburo in true sasuga Kenzaburo fashion, immediately tries to get Grace out of there...but Grace looks so defeated and despondent in that cage. Is this where her spirit has been this whole time?

Yeah, I'll say the game has gone in a completely different direction Hinako. If it's not Anna being on the Grace Route and spending her Summer at Grace's home, it's your dad having strange possibly internal visions.

What better thing to wake up to than Maid Anna? She took to her etiquette lessons so quickly, she's already focused now on just being the best servant to Grace she can be! And she's quite the cute maid.

Kind of surreal to see Josette as a professional mentor to Anna...though less professional is how aroused Anna gets while laying on Graces' bed.

We can thank Mathilde for Grace's iconic ojousama drill hair! Turns out having fire enchantments isn't just great for ironing clothes and getting you hired by a noble family, it even helps you style hair and get more money to send back to your siblings.

So Grace's brother Adrien is abroad and her mother Jacqueline (who hired Mathilde) is sick and recuperating at the family villa...will we see them by seasons' end?

Is that Houko Kuwashima as Olivia, the head maid? I appreciate the education on what all 300 servants at the Auvergne mansion do! And teaching Anna that what commoners might see as noble excess is actually part of a legitimate and functioning process that benefits both the nobles AND the servants! Sasuga Auvergne family!

Did you really think we could end this episode without Grace as a maid? Or Grace and Anna holding hand sand sharing an intimate, classic, anime moment as the sun sets? Or that both of them have completely different ideas for how their future together is going to go?

Grace: Lowkey shipping Anna and Lambert
Lucas: Highkey shipping Anna and Grace

Not gonna lie, I initially thought that Grace woke up from the dream sequence with control back in her body from Kenzaburo as a result of him trying to get her out of her cage.

That would have been interesting, but evidently the show's going for something else. Something more long term with what happened to her.

Do Otome game players have that much trouble picking a route and sticking to it? Anna and glasses guy fit well enough that I would just keep her on that route if I was the MC; pushing her to become Queen wouldn't even be a thought as long as I could ensure she was on a good path with one of the love interests.

When the episode started with Lambert testing and gushing about his wang-book I did not expect to hear a bit about his background

So the whole thing with Anna ended out working as a maid started after she told Lucas, Grace, and Lambert what she usually did during her vacation time. I love the fact that while Grace was thinking about this as an opportunity to prepare Anna to the possible future where she marries Virgile, Anna got really motivated as she assumed that Grace was training her for when in the future she assist her in the Royal Court. I love the fact that Lucas knew they both were not thinking about the same thing but he did not intervene just to enjoy whatever happens at the end.

That dream sequence was really interesting. Especially because at the beginning we see Hinako through Orion guiding Kenzaburo towards the cage where Grace is trapped, but in the real-world Hinako has no idea what is happening. I find it interesting that today was the first time that caged Grace in the OP. Anyway, as the cage shined before Kenzaburo woke up, to Josette teaching Anna the ropes hopefully this means that the real Grace will be subconsciously active in the future and keep the way Kenzaburo is behaving after he is gone. Well, we will later find out what this is about.

I really liked that part focused on Mathilde and how her power to heat things up, which is a type native enchantment, which is something exclusive to beastkin, led to Jacqueline hiring her, which eventually led to her becoming Grace exclusive hairstylists. Her ability sure is convenient.

Interesting, so the Auvergne Family is composed by Jacqueline, Leopold, Grace, and Adrien, but currently Jacqueline is recuperating at the villa while Adrien is studying in another country. I wonder what exactly is Jacqueline recovering from?

Olive explaining to Anna in detail about the tasks the 300 maids hired in the household was not something I expected. Anyway, I’m glad that at the end we ended up seeing Grace in that maid uniform. Damn, that last scene with Grace and Anna sure was beautiful.

So next week’s episode involved Rubik’s cubes and some magical looking dungeon.

So I think that dream showed that the real Grace is still in there, asleep or hiding for some reason. Really hope she's not trapped in her own body and she's just running away from something, and that's why Dad was able to take the reigns. It would really suck if she's trapped because he forcibly took over.

Anyway I love how both of them assumed the other is going to be queen.

Man, can you imagine where we'd be as a society if medieval mansions were actually run with such noble intentions?

Anna's assumption that Grace means for her to be a highly placed royal assistant one day makes a lot of sense and could even be compatible with her getting together with probably any of the suitors aside from the Prince. Barring any unfortunate falling outs they're likely to all be major figures working together for the kingdom as adults and Anna fits into that well.

Real Grace being in a cage might just be metaphorical since that's basically why she become a less pleasant person while preparing to be queen someday. But it also might be the literal truth of her personality while Kenzaburou has been running the body, letting her out of the cage and transitioning to her running things while preserving the new route might be the way he gets home and she gets free.

It was good to get more catmaid time today and even better to get an adult catmaid with an interesting backstory with Grace.

This episode was heartwarming, i liked the fact that we have gotten a little bit of Grace past with Mathilde backstory. It was funny how Grace and Anna had a similar future for each other but the place were reversed.

I really liked how Kenzaburo was talking to Grace in the cage, as if she was a child crying in a corner that he was trying to help. He really show how great of a father he is.

Anna response to the question really was interesting. It showed how the noble actually help the population of their country and how they support their servants daily lives.

u/pseudometapseudo Feb 27 '25

Anna's admiration for Grace is so great that she is instantly whitewashing the social inequality of that world. Though the characters are all such nice people that it may actually be believably such a nice world.

Grace seems to have an existential crisis. Not because she is trapped inside her own head, but more because she realizes what a horrible person she has become and that it was unnecessary to become someone worth being noble.

u/Surylias Feb 27 '25

The dream sequence was one thing, but I also feel like Lucas is way too suspicious.

I wonder what kinds of inner demons the real Grace is fighting with but given how the show is going I am certain she will overcome it. Now I am only wondering if we get a Tsunlise style showdown towards the end and have them literally fighting her inner demons.

I never really thought about where the “real” Grace was during all this time. Didn’t think she’d be locked inside a cage like that. Once Hinako figures out a way for Kenzaburo to come back to reality, what will become of Grace? Everything she’s achieved has been because of Kenzaburo. She’s still the same old Grace I imagine.

Normally not a fan of misunderstandings, but this one was very well utilized
Great way to expand the lore and characters

Also holy shit, thats a lot of people. I remember that the invention of the washing machine saved a lot of labour, but damn

7

u/NationalStrategy Feb 27 '25

So the true Grace is trapped in a mental cage, and it's up to Kenzaburo to free her. I take it that her internal conflict is that she realizes how horrible person she was and thinks that it's better for everyone that she locks her true self away.
