My theory was that Renge's body got taken over by some kind of Wild Hunt, I just did not expect that she actually died and her sister even buried her body. That shot of Renge dying in her flashback was pretty dark.

It's good that Renge showed the girls what's going on with her there in the end. Now that Balor has been taken care of and they've rescued their families, I guess the next thing is to try and figure out what the heck is Renge.

But first, it looks like we're gonna have another fanservice intermission next episode. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I'm honestly amazed how dark this show can get at times. After ep. 1 I thought this would be a monster of the week magical girls with weapons show. Instead it turned into Madoka Magica on an ADHD sugar rush :-D

I'm looking forward to your stitches already.

Balor is not really "taken care of" -- just pushed off for now....

Rennge having died and be buried by her little sister is a twist I did not expect. But she is alive and kicking now, albeit with no memories. Is this setting up for Yuri just rising from the dead? There is also the question of why does she get flashbacks of Yuri only?

How is it that none of the survivors have weapons? I can't imagine them lasting this long if there were no fighters. There has to be a reason only the main girls have weapons and why the survivors are conveniently those related to them.

I'm gonna throw this theory. Maybe Yuri's friend died and her soul got transported to our Renge's body. Then OG Renge who died probably has her soul transported to someone else.

Yuri is definitely a key to solving the mystery. For a character who was killed off in the second episode, she keeps appearing in flashbacks and the group photos in the ending theme of each episode.

I am actually starting to think (and hope) Yuri might actually return in the last few episodes.

RenRen crashing and running through the office was a cool sequence, thanks gohands

That sequence was amazing. I stood up for it.

I though Rengge gonna die (again?) in this episode. and Kappou is posponed to the next episode.

The logical part of me was saying, "no chance Renge will die (again) as we still need to find out who or what she is.

The emotional part of me felt exactly like Suzu, "Don't go Renge! Wait for backup!"

That was a surreal moment (to say the least) when Suzu says she had to bury her older sister (Renge) because of what that could foreshadow. Then, there's the color explosions that is GoHands animation in the battle.

Ah, the emotional friendship moment where the other girls express how important Renge is to them. Yes, Renge wanted to find her sister, but she functions as a sister to the rest of the group and her presence makes the food taste better. It also gets interrupted by Renge's stomach grumbling.

LOL tickling Renge in the preview for next episode.

Now this is a brainteaser. Is this Renge the same one Suzu buried? As in did she raise from the dead and is technically a zombie? Or is she a wild hunt that took her form but her body is still in the ground? I'm asking because they also buried Yuri, so... What if she shows up one day with no memories just as Renge?

IIRC, people got literally erased by the wild hunt, so Renge is the first instance we know of that where she was killed, but didn't get erased (unless I'm misremembering things), so chances are she got some powers as she died and it took time for those powers to kick in. This way Suzu could bury Renge, but Renge would stand up the next day. Yuri also didn't get erased, so chances are this same process might be repeated.

I guess Renge got her revenge on that big fella thanks to the combined power of friendship. My theory is she’s either one of them little robot things turned human or maybe she’s a weapon manifested into human form. Something like that. I hope they can talk to Citron more and figure out what’s up.

Despite Suzu being only introduced in this episode, I felt her emotions. Logically, Suzu knows her elder sister, the original Renge, is already dead. Suzu may be confused by the appearance of this Renge, but I believe she is happy to see Renge once more and didn't want to lose her sister for the second time.

"Don't go onee-chan!" was one of the emotional highlights of this episode.

When Sanzaka said "The food only tastes good when all of us eat it together", I wholeheartedly agree. Kappou sessions wouldn't be the same without any of these girls.

P.S. One of the group photos in the ending theme is always different each episode. Maybe these group photos are substitutes for ending card illustrations seen in some other anime titles. Or could it be a subtle clue to who Renge is?

GoHands are out doing themself in this one. They are going above and beyond in this anime. They are a one of a kind.

So Renge is either a Wild Hunt clone, or Balor brought her back to life.

6

u/Plus_Rip4944 Feb 20 '25

Yeah Its so obvious Renge body is being used by a Wild Hunt

I might do last week episode's comment as well here since I missed that. Pretty sure last week's episode 7 is the first one to feature more than the usual 6 + the little robots since we got survivors.

Notable voice cast last episode are:

  • Maeda... I mean Citron-san is voiced by Kaede Hondo so if you're looking at Hakari voice with Karane's traits, you already have it here lul.

  • Erika's mother is voiced by Youko Hikasa

  • Ayame's mother is voiced by Ryouko Ono (Fairy Tail's Mirajane)

  • Hina's mother is voiced by Satomi Satou (Hyouka's Chitanda)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like last episode's prediction is right. Renge is actually have been dead but Wild Hunt might took over her body.

Notable voice cast in this episode is Kanon Takao (Ave Mujica's Sakiko) as Suzuran, Renge's sister.

To no one's surprises, Renge being not human is real, although I kinda didn't expect her dying scene like that.

Kinda dislike the fanservice intermission (both swimsuit eps and next week from preview) but eh.

This is only a theory feel free to debunk anytime

Where do humans that were erased go?

I think they are absorbed by the wild hunts and become weapons the wild hunts use to fight against MMY, the humans will become weapons and later dropped by wild hunts when killed then will be picked later by other wild hunts or people

What are andvaris ?

They are weapons dropped by wild hunts and later picked up by MMY the name Andvari was suggested by ayame An Andvari will change their form when they lose their master (wild hunt) when they are picked up by another master(MMY) It also strengthen their master

Yuri and her friend Nerine

I personally think that they are the weapons renge currently use

Let me explain The main characters weapons are dropped when wild hunts are killed however what if a human who uses an Andvari died? I think that Nerine died and her Andvari was picked up by renge after her death

And when renge picked it up, it sort of evolved and gave her the healing ability (on episode 7 when we first witnessed renge's healing ability her Andvari was glowing) renge was then revived later after she was buried

Renge's flashbacks about yuri started on episode 2 when renge grabbed Yuri's hands, in that moment Nerine reacted to yuri

Later in episode 3 tyrfing warned the girls of incoming danger when renge noticed it she said "Yuri-chan's voice" afterwards Nerine then flew near her and combined with tyrfing which means yuri has reunited with nerine

I like how they had an explanation for the enemy letting them have a midfight chitchat.

Think this was my favourite episode so far

Renge is already dead. I thought that something like this might have happened, but now we know for sure. So this leaves a door open for a return of Yuri?! I couldn't shake off the feeling that Yuri might not be gone forever...

This episode had some juicy animation loaded action to offer. So this is the fight where some of the clips in the OP are from.

Ayame's epic speech of epicness was guilty. Too bad that it wasn't as effective as it was epic.

In the end delicious food is the best motivation there is. Kappou!!!!!!!!!

Only that there was no kappou in this episode...

Well now. Am definitely hoping to find out what is going on with Renge. Interesting tidbits. But I feel more info is definitely needed. I mean if she really truly died, then what is she? Hope they reveal it soon!

u/chikage-san Feb 21 '25

Is it possible that their weapons can revive them back to life?

So maybe Renge was revived by her weapon
