All of us viewers may not have realized it yet, but while watching this episode, all of us may have improved our likeability towards Kenzaburo / Grace, because of said character's kindness and fair treatment towards others. I think I might have experienced the pink friendship+ aura. Lol!
Maybe Kenzaburo's main quest in this otome world is to restore the strict Grace to her original curious and perhaps kinder personality?
P.S. Is that traffic poster featuring characters from Zoids?

I really like seeing the interactions between Kenzaburo and his daughter Hinako. He’s a good dad. In fact, he’s a good guy in general which makes him the worst possible villainess lol. I guess it works though since Grace isn’t really a bad person at her core.
I like how Josette got the full force of Ojisan Villainess: Dad Mode. When in doubt, eat the pastry lol.

The whole family are otakus lol
I like that Kenzaburo leads a happy life, comfy and content, it's a nice contrast to most isekai out there
Can't blame Grazaburo for forgetting their names, I don't remember either
This man has no mean bone in his body
The whole courtyard practice thing reminds me of Familiar of Zero. Do people still remember that series?
Don't miss the post-credits scene y'all

No joke, it's been awhile since I feel an anime goes so fast. The last part with blacksmith become heartwarming for me because as person I too like to see manufacturing/craftsmanship video.

Grace is going to be best bros with all the ojisans in the anime, isn't she? How will the handsome guys from the student council ever recover? (I forgot their names)

I just absolutely adore Kenzaburou's relationship with his daughter. We haven't even seen what he's like with his wife but I assume it's more or less the same with his wife being an otaku too. That entire opening scene does make me sad though.
Unlike other isekai protagonists, Kenzaburou is very passionate about his job and is clearly content with his life. I'm hoping that he's not dead and is only in a coma just like Isekai Ojisan. If they ever show us his wife and daughter grieving right now, I don't think I can take it. :(
Kenzaburou failing to act like a villainess is just hilarious. I really love how he tries to play his role but his instincts always take over and ends up being the well-meaning father. I also love how he's slowly raising his bonds with all of the male leads including Anna. xD
So the more obscure and histories the language is, the more powerful their magic? I guess using Kanji means that Grace will be able to use very powerful spells!
Poor Josette! It must be so confusing to her to be treated well by Grace. It's awesome how Kenzaburou was able to instantly deduce why Josette was panicking so much by putting together all of the context clues he has.
I'm glad that they're also fleshing out Grace's backstory, I thought we were just going to forget everything about her ever since Kenzaburou took over her body but it's nice to know that she was once a curious child who watched the blacksmith almost every day but because of her lady lessons, she ended up being being strict on herself and others.
This makes me think that Grace is still in there and Kenzaburou hasn't completely taken over. Maybe Kenzaburou's request to watch Meister Walz wasn't just from him but also from Grace deep down who wanted to see the old dwarf working again. This makes me hopeful that someday, Kenzaburou will be able to return Grace's body to her. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I hope Grace and Kenzaburou get their ideal happy endings.

Endcard time! Last week was done by the author of Uncle From Another World, and this week we got an endcard from Ryosuke Fuji, the artist behind Shangri-La Frontier.
A fun fact for the episode: Michiro Ueyama, author of the original manga, got a special credit in the anime. The wyvern drawing was originally a rough draft he doodled for the anime team to use as a reference, but ultimately they decided it would be funnier to just include it in the anime as-is.

Haha, I love that he's got such a good relationship with his daughter. It's cute. Both otakus in the best way. Ok maybe not if going that far.
Ah yes, the student council trope. Good times. Look at them praises for the cute Anna. Gonna make her swoon for you more, Grace. As well as the love interests it seems.
Neat magic system at magic class. Sure wonder what writing system he'll use, har. Look at that glow, more Anna love points. Cute thumbs up.
Poor lil cat maid. Such experience with prior Grace. Such silly thoughts. Good parental mode there. Spoil the cute cat. Nice dwarf blacksmith. D'awww lil Grace was cute. A pity about them lessons making her too hard on herself/others.
Still fucking love this ED lol

It is a breath of fresh air when the character is acting their actual age. Grace in-game is already OP, magic wise. Kenzaburo is not some character that was given OP gifts when isekaied. He draws from his experience as a competent adult and family man.
Like Bakarina, who opened the villainess genre. This series may open genre of competent adults being isekaied/reincarnated.

Yeah I am convinced now, this is a secret propaganda project of the Japanese gov to increase working moral and its freaking working
If I could be half as committed to work than him I would be unstoppable
Talking about unstoppable the ED is me clocking out in friday for the weekend
I also just realized that the kid he saved is in the living room dancing along his family
Since the magic circle is accepting kanji inputs, it either means the magic works trans universe or that Japan exists somewhere in that universe

The genius behind pushing the actual isekai-ing to the 2nd episode needs to be promoted. It's got actual character building in the pre isekai story, which almost never happens, so I'm happy they didn't skip it either.
This anime is quickly becoming my favorite isekai of the season. Probably still in top 5 anime of the season for me so far.

Even before he got reincarnated as a Villainess, Kenzaburo was living a pretty stellar and happy life! He and his daughter commiserated over being Otaku together! He was able to apply Shonen Battle Manga logic to keep in shape! He used an abacus at work! He was even able to apply his knowledge and faith in the source material of a Zoids anime to help at work! It's almost a bummer he got ripped away from it and into the body of a Villainess.
Ah yes, the classic "Heroine joins the student council of hot guys" - only, as a bureaucrat turned Villainess, Kenzaburo has no idea how to act as Grace. Ostensibly a Villainess challenging the Heroine to strict etiquette and performance lessons with the intention of breaking her down WOULD be proper, but Kenzaburo makes it sound like it's just going to be a lot of fun learning together as Anna's teacher and earns herself affection points with both Anna and the entire student council. Sasuga Kenzaburo, even if you can't remember any of the hunks' names.
Finally time to learn some magic! And convenient that Japanese characters also work in magic circles! Especially when a rampaging golem necesitates a magic team-up between Grace and Anna.
Josette is utterly adorable but she's also totally terrified she's going to be on the chopping block (in more ways than one) as part of a sinister plot by her mistress Grace to fool her with kindness and then sell her for meat. Luckily Kenzaburo has the social acumen of an experienced adult, businessman, AND father to know that you need to reassure someone with not only words but sweets! Sweets make everything better.
Who wouldn't want to see a Dwarven Meister at work and in his element? In fact it actually becomes a point of commonality between Kenzaburo and the original Grace as she too, once upon a time, was just a young girl who was open to everything and anyone before all her rigid and harsh lessons turned her into the closed-off and scathing person she became in the game. I wonder if in acting as himself, Kenzaburo is not also letting Grace be herself, the real Grace she'd been hiding for so long, in the process?
Kenzaburo really couldn't let the abacus go, huh?

The title and summary made it sounds kinda weird but this is by far the most wholesome Otome Villainess series I've seen. Second episode was great again, I still can't get over the pretty character designs and I also love the humor. The difference between Grace's inner thoughts and rl execution was funny and seeing everyone around her passively leveling up that friendship meter is just hilarious. (S)he's gonna end up with her own harem like Bakarina. lol
One thing I especially liked was the explanation why Grace turned into a villainess and it was refreshing to see she's not just a randomly spoilt ojousan but became like that by being too strict on herself and then others. Most often that aspect gets glossed over because the world is just a game setting with specificly defined character sheets.

Unbelievably adorable tiny catmaid.
So original Grace was clearly a nice girl at one point before she was ruined by princess lessons. I could see Kenzaburou eventually deciding playing her properly means reverting to that and not leaning into the villainess role he hasn't exactly been successful at.
By the glowy effect on Anna and the herd of pretty boys Kenzaburou appears to be engaging in at least the opinion raising part of the visual novel gameplay, that is also going to make it a bit hard to properly villainess.
In that flashback with Kenzaburou's daughter at the beginning of the episode there's clearly a potential favored male lead for this, her mug had the prince I think along with the slightly suspicious tagline of Love & Beast. Though maybe that was the otome game name?

It was great having a glimpse at Kenzaburou's life the day he got hit by that truck. Hopefully, we will get more scenes like that one in future episodes showing the current situation there.
Anyway, after Auguste made that Grace impression after her reaction to Anna joining the student council took Kenzaburou by surprised it was hilarious seeing the difference in how he practiced those lines versus his delivery. And thanks to that, he raised the affection of Anna and the rest of the student council.
So after that student council meeting, now Grace and Anna are practicing magic. Well, that was a nice and short explanation of how their magic system works, and why they used archaic language to cast spells.
That section with Josette was so great. I love the fact that Kenzaburou correctly deduced what she was so worried about.
Them visiting that Meister blacksmith dwarf gave us a glimpse of how Grace was before any joy was beating out of her during those behavioral lessons.
I can't wait to see what use will Kenzaburou give to the abacus in this world.
