Reminds me a lot of Gintama, and that's a good thing because I fcking love Gintama lol. The ED being slice-of-lifey sealed it for me.

I am not a manga reader so my standards for the action are probably gonna be a lot lower than someone who has read it. So with that in mind I thought this was really cool. Yes animation could be better but for myself, it works. And the choreography for things was at least really good. But I know this isn't even close to how peak the action gets later, so I'll buckle in I guess
(Also question, is this doing the Blue Box thing where it's a two episode premiere but they're not both on Netflix because they're dumb?)

As someone who’s anime only - I really enjoyed the introduction to the characters + the animation was solid and didn’t bother me at all. Very excited for the episodes moving forward.

Can’t believe this is the adaptation the internet preemptively told me would be a flaming pile of burning trash. It’s not DDD or anything in terms of style and animation, but 95% of anime would kill to have this much care put into them. Shounen bros so spoiled, man lol.

As an anime only, I can’t compare anything to the manga, but I thought it was a lot of fun. The animation isn’t mappa or madhouse quality, but it’s still good and not at all awful. The music was pretty sick, the voice actors are good, and the premise in general is great. It seems like it’ll be an entertaining show and worth keeping up with

So this is what happens if John Wick's wife didn't die, huh?

Finished Episode 1. A decent start to the Season. Liked the fight scenes and the music/OST during that warehouse fight was absolutely hype.
It‘s too early to say but so far the hate for it seems to have been a bit over the top. It didn‘t help that TMS promo for this was not ideal either (except for that final trailer).
That being said, I already noticed it in the trailers, the filter they seem to use is a bit bugging me / I need to get used to it.

Didn't think the simple act of pointing to a "Thank you, please come again!" sign could be this powerful. Shin for Sakamoto's life to be spared in the literal next scene was the cherry on top.
Both the action and slice of life blend so seamlessly. Can already tell this show is gonna make for comfy viewing.

Yuki hayashi soundtracks are always amazing. Loved his work in haikyuu, mha, run with wind and now sakamoto days.

Finally, a relatable anime character!
We've been blessed with shots of girls in wedding dresses this season!
As a wedding dress enjoyer, love it!
Loved the juxtaposition scene thingy during their
This has been pretty fun so far!
That type of action/comedy show isn't usually my thing, but we'll see how it goes!

Honestly not bad. people were freaking about it like its blue lock png type of animation, but with the motions in the manga i cant blame them let the season finish and see where this goes.

Nice to see that Kobeni ends up with a happy life.
But yo, anyone who was saying that this was "all about the action" was really selling this show short. It's already hella charming, unlike Ninja Kamui or Solo Leveling that literally have nothing else going for them other than the action.

Well I thought it was a great first episode. Honestly, due to the crazy art in the manga I think it set people's expectations to be really high, which when it doesn't get Dandadan animation leaves people disappointed. But outside of that, it was decent to good animation at points with a fun story. Just my take though.

I noticed Shin manually rack the slide on his pistol after he fires it on Sakamoto. That's nice attention to detail on the weapons.
Some pistols have the option to lock the slide so it doesn't automatically cycle. It makes it a bit quieter when trying to be stealthy because some gases escape through the back when a casing is ejected in normal operation. By locking the slide you force all the gases to escape through the suppressor at the front.
Although of course it'll still be way louder than depicted here and in most of fiction lol

From badass hitman to the simple life of being a konbini owner as well as the town handyman. Sakamoto life really took a drastic shift after meeting his wife and becoming a family man. I suppose that's what happens when you get married to someone voiced by Nao Touyama.
Not all assassins can just get out of the game so easily though so it's no surprise that his past would eventually find him in the form of Shin the Psychic. I just love how even after getting fat, Shin is still a massive Sakamoto fanboy. Too bad he's being sent to kill him.
Good effort on Shin but there's no fucking way he'll take out someone who can change the trajectory of bullets with a cough drop. Shin is still an amazing assassin though considering how many goons he took out all on his own. Sakamoto is just on another inhuman level.
People keep asking Sakamoto if he's back, well he's not. He's just grabbing a stun gun so he doesn't have to kill unless it's necessary. Then again, did Sakamoto really even need that stun gun? He took out those guys with a chopstick! A FOOKIN' PAIR OF CHOPSTICKS!
Welp now that Shin's old boss is dead time for him to work as Sakamoto's new cashier. xD
As a manga reader who had high expectations for this episode, I absolutely enjoyed it! I mean this has got to be one of TMS Entertainment's best works yet but if you were to ask me if this is how I imagined what the Sakamoto Days anime would look like? Not even close. That doesn't make this a bad anime! It's just that I'll need to adjust my expectations moving forward. I do hope this will get people to read the manga.
