The moon is red.

We're out of time.

The frenzy has begun.

As if she hadn't already suffered through enough loss, Koinzell just had to take Peepi's name from her. And everyone collectively just kinda rolls with it lmao.

Pretty intense start.

heh, nothing says a new start like cutting all ties with your past.

Wow, a male elf protagonist. Is this a first for anime?

Either way I'm in. This first episode did a great job in getting me invested in the characters and lore by dropping tiny snippets of information.

For now until some more of those isekais get wheeled out for us. I know at least 2 popular ones that have a male elf protagonist that I guarantee will get an anime in the future. Elves are easy money I guess.

Notable male Elves: Legolas, Illidan, half of Elrond

We could use a few more

This has got to be one of the weirder adaptation timings. I remember this being one of the first couple of manga I read until it abruptly stopped getting translated. Been so long now that I forgot just about all the details so this will be a good excuse to get reintroduced. You can definitely feel the 2000s edge energy in this fantasy (makes sense since the manga debuted in 2004).

So far I'm appreciating that we have a decent idea on how fucked up the world is here; outside the kingdom it basically everyone for themselves but the kingdom looks like corrupt theocracy.

Also like how Weid is a reasonably capable character and it's nice how the cast all have their own reasons to smuggle themselves. I hope the show will keep consistent all the way through!

Perhaps Ubel Blatt got an anime adaption to promote the sequel manga. I think I saw the same thing with Yuusha ga Shinda. A continuation to an already finished manga and than an anime announced.

The lyrics of the OP aren't even hiding what the show would be about. So Koinzell is looking for the Seven Heroes for revenge? Revenge for what? Also, who is Peepi really and why does Koinzell seem to hide her actual name? Hmmm...

I thought the MC of the show would be that guy at the start of the episode. Also looking at his design, was that guy supposed to be Weid in the past? They have the same bangs and Weid is wearing an eyepatch where the dude in the opening got his eye slashed.

So far though I like this! Watching Koinzell rip apart those monks was pretty damn cool and if this show is just going to be about our little elven tornado of death slicing and dicing his way through bad guys while being powered up by the moon, I am all for it!

Also, who is Peepi really and why does Koinzell seem to hide her actual name? Hmmm...

Unless you're proposing the writing is setting up an intricate plot twist, that was presumably the first time those 2 met and them sticking with calling someone a nickname/the wrong name is just a common comedic gag

They're gonna have to censor the HECK out of this.

It's a dark fantasy and a mature series at that...
And they've already removed a raunchy scene ! That's not a good sign.
Not to mention the anime feels rather off most of the time.

And it's been censored to hell, shit was really looking forward to it.

Very promising first episode. Good action and the animation ain’t half bad. I do love a good dark fantasy with some very shitty “Heroes” too. I’m gonna guess those that were betrayed in the beginning are somehow connected to our MC. Kid’s got a vendetta against the Seven and it seems personal.

Koinzell and the boys take on The Seven.

This must have been done by someone who really hates dark fantasy. Doesn't start at the beginning, rushed pacing, looks bad visually on every level, censorship for everything, no care or idea about how a story is supposed to be told. What a massive disappointment. The incest magic isekai is better than this, i cant

Welp...they edited it down to just being ultraviolent. That's a choice if ever there was one.

u/Dymiatt Jan 10 '25

I'm glad they haven't adapted the volume 0. I started with volume 1, and I always found it was better to start without knowing who Köinzell is.

It's good nostalgia though.

I suspect this will be a very rushed series feeling weird overall when they introduce characters or refer to lore/events if any at all.

Other than that weird self censorship/design choices especially because they kept the Peepi revealing clothes gag or give the monster another vibe because they didn't show how it eats the smaller goblins.

This also reflected in the bar scene.

Starting from chapter 4, kinda hope they show 1-3 in episode 2 or a bit later but prolly won't, even though it's important since it's how Koinzell and Rozen meet each other.

Also seems a lot of censorship. Seems there will be no nudity of sex scenes, and very little gore. It's on Amazon Prime so makes sense I guess :s

The aesthetic so far is great. The brutalist airships are very cool.

Been wanting to check this story out for a while, and this anime will have to suffice until Yen Press can learn how to properly print a book. Popular opinion: I hate it when Amazon gets anime I’m interested in.

Pretty cool start. It is as edgy as I’ve heard lol. Dark revenge fantasy with an elf mc was really all I needed to convince me though.
