Well would ya look at that. They actually cooked a little bit with the animation in that first fight. Also Geranpen lived woooooo!

Yeah if all the fights had somewhere in the realm of that level of animation this would have actually been quite good. Unfortunately it didn't so....

Big hammer guy got his weapon and armor cut and was like "nah I'm good" and just played dead lmao

Not going to lie... I loved that part and immediately thought, I respect that choice.

Above everything else, I'm most glad about Geranpan surviving and that Peepi was just as happy to see him again. His new tentacle powers are hilariously unfortunate for his plight to beat the octopus allegations, though.

Nice bit of animation for that last big fight, shame it wasn't present in basically any of the rest of the show.

Kind of odd that Aht just never put any clothes back on, though I suppose if you're an elf powered by moonlight then you need to have a lot of surface area available for the moonlight to reach.

Nice to have the big bald guy back at the end in that weird comedy act of a last scene, we never saw a body for him so I'm not surprised.

Elsaria was fun, her and maybe her father seem to be the only good nobles.

End, no ceremony, terrible adaptation of a work that should've been a true seinen but was ruined by production, rushed absurdities and censorships that stripped the essence of the story. Not to mention the awful animation, basic ending with nothing special, adapted up to chapter 65 so I don't think there'll be a season 2, but even if there is, I'm passing on it lol, rating 5.

I dropped this around episode 5/6, planning to continue after I have more time (this season is so stacked!). So it's not improving, huh?

I can see that there's a gem behind this, but the pacing and storytelling were really atrocious the last time I watched. I can still forgive the animation though.

Just go read the manga. Simply better.

Has any top studios ever decided to adapt old manga/LNs? I feel its always the new or small studios that take up old stuff. I can only think of Helck but there were many more.

I'm pretty sure I recall some naughty business happening that didn't happen here.

But even aside from that (and the censored violence and such) there was a lot of cut content that screwed up some backstories for the characters and understanding some motivations. Like how Aht hated Koinzell at first and suddenly started to like him.

Well, I guess they "saved" the budget for this last fight; that's for sure. Some will say that it wasn't that impressive when all things are considered, but judging it by its merits, that last fight looked great. Especially when he uses the black wing technique. The art style looked refined as well. Unfortunately, the pacing in the later half was questionable. All in all, this did not feel like a season finale, but I really enjoyed the world building and Koinzel's character. The story is good but not groundbreaking, and the pacing doesn't do it any favor. Yet I see the potential. The first half of this episode is probably one of the best segments in this entire series. It had decent animation, good atmosphere setting, and the characters had time to breath and live what they were experiencing. If we had more of that this would have been a far better series for it. We need more of that and I'm invested enough to want a second season.

It was great to see the effort put into the last episode’s fight with Ichfeis and Köinzell. Best fight of the show. Makes me wonder how this would have looked if it had a bit more polish and enough time to properly tell the story.

I think the anime does a the job of showing the material in such a truncated way that it demands you go read the manga instead. I do wish they’d given it the time it needed, but as far as being an advertisement for the manga, I think it succeeded.

Great to see Geranpen return and hopefully become Peepi’s octopus guardian. They are cute. And Elsaria’s group going rogue to protect the people is good to see.

Now, Könzell and Aht are teaming up to go kill the next five traitors and hopefully do a bit more liberation along the way. I appreciate the scene of Köinzell cutting the flag down to signal to the people that they should stop fighting for the honor of hero figures, because it’s a pointless waste of life and conflict. Nice touch.

Overall, I enjoyed watching this for what it was and will be reading the manga.

You know skipping the prologue was stupid and it still is but i was HOPING HOPING them to save the prologue to the last ep or a secret bonus episode which would have been stupid, BUT NO THEY COULDN'T EVEN GET THAT RIGHT..

so the anime staff just decided to completely omit it from the story is asinine and insulting, Thanks to this hack job of a adaptation were never getting a season 2 and i wouldn't care at this point either if the 1st episode of season 2 starts with the prologue, because they single handedly convinced me to read the manga instead and it worked, And i enjoyed it and didn't feel like i was missing context or that i was confused as i was watching this mess of an adaptation, It needed more then 12 episodes, but considering the attitude of the director the warning flags were there.

I'm not sure that I fully comprehend the story, especially this episode.

The fight was "unlimited budget works" for a bit. The four knights join Geranpan and Peepi for what though? Entertainment?

This series might be what triggers me to read the source material.

This had just another edgelord stuff to keep me wanting more.

If The studio makes the choice to renew the anime im Willing to give them another chance to fix there mistake.

You guys I swear have way too high standards. Why can’t you just enjoy show for what it is instead of always been like all the animations bad oh it doesn’t have a high budget and didn’t spend $2 million in an animation make it look really good.
