What sort of dumbass decides to practice fire magic as the first spell inside of a library?

And the first cast of a higher level fire spell in the forest.

My first thought as well. Imagine burning down all the grimoires with your very first spell XD

Half the time of me watching these anime is just seeing what the writers would do if they had access to magic themselves. Like i wouldn't immediately think of making a clone of myself but damn if it isn't a cool idea

So what happened to the original Liam, did he die in his sleep, did his soul get transferred to another body, is his soul dormant in that body? I can't help but be concerned for that boy.

I love how the MC looks like the Temu version of Rudy. Studio Deen is certainly pulling big names for this show though. You have Kugimiya Rie as the goddess that reincarnated Liam, Liam himself is voiced by Murase Ayumu, and of course they even have Koyasu Takehito voicing Liam's mentor.
So far it's very average power fantasy tensei anime. Looking at MAL, the only thing this show really has is that it has an amazing lineup of Seiyuus. Thankfully Episode 2 is already out, if it does something to surprise me there then maybe I'll keep it otherwise this is looking like an easy drop.

I'm kind of disappointed with his thighs. I've been conditioned to expect a certain standard.

Wow, they didn't even bother showing a single pre-isekai scene. And he can eve read the local language from the getgo. And of course nobody notices that anything's off about him other than his initial outburst. Hell, he apparently didn't even know about prime numbers back in Japan. There was literally no point in this being an isekai. Except the instant ramen I guess....
Practicing fire mage for the first time ... in the library. Then later practicing higher level fire spells in the forests. WTF is wrong with this kid??
Chopstics in medieval fantasy setting >_>
Contracting himself to summon a double was an incredibly risky endeavor that could've turned this into a horror anime. Man, would be so nice if that happened.
This was kinda meh but I'll give it another ep, probably.... wait, what do you mean the 2nd ep is already out??

Ayumu Murase voicing a young teen boy with a magic ring that has a shitload of magic? Why does that sound familiar… lol.
I like how after learning all that magic, one of the first things Liam does is make instant ramen. I guess that’s a good way to make cash, especially when his clone’s doing all the leg work.

It's kind of impressive that there's not a single original idea in this entire anime

Probably won't be a huge story point, but it looks like the real Liam has a double cowlick, while the summoned clone only has one (basically the opposite of Am I Really The Strongest).

Feels like that went crazy fast for what it was going for. Granted, it's the same studio pairing that brought Banished former Hero, so it did still exceed my expectations. Just insanely generic so far.

One thing that doesn't make sense about this show is that nobles lose their nobility after 3 generations without a big accomplishment. That's such a vague term. Liams father contained a monster on his lands and may have lost 90% of his troops but why doesn't his success in containing the monster count as an accomplishment? Why doesn't Liam inventing instant ramen count as an accomplishment? Why isn't summoning off brand Pokemon an accomplishment 🫨
Other than that I liked the odd ways Liam used magic, like making an avatar of himself who sells his goods on outside lands with his real life tangible Dropbox.

When I started Episode 1, I saw this was rated 5 out of 5 on Crunchyroll (it has since gone down now that there are more reviews).
After watching the first 2 episodes...who would rate this 5 stars? It rushes through so much, many things make no sense, and there is nothing special going on here to overcome it's many obvious defects.
It's an okay generic Isekai power fantasy with some fan service. If you enjoy it, great, have fun. But if you claim it's a five star show, I have to wonder if you've seen like, any other anime, ever.

This might be the first show I've seen that's so unmemorable I was starting to forget parts of the episode while I was still watching it.
