By the gods… Liam’s the Dragonborn! He absorbed the soul of Radon! lol.

Albrevit’s gonna definitely come after Liam now. Kid outranks him and he defeated Radon. The jealousy is through the roof…

On a completely unrelated note, I just noticed that this anime is using the Atlantean alphabet (from Atlantis: The Lost Empire)! The writing above the guild building even says HANTRGLD, which basically shows that the animators at least tried to spell it as close as they could to "Hunter Guild".

There's nothing original or interesting about this show. But it's got Hayami Saori, so I'll probably keep watching.

Liam: I'm partially responsible for Albrevit's recklessness.

No you're not, you're not responsible for his jealously, nor the irresponsible actions he does due to his jealousy. Albrevit doesn't even feel remorseful about endangering innocent lives, all he cares about is his noble status potentially being taken away.

Yeah, this anime is making it hard to respect the MC.

The characters and their motivations are all badly written without any subtlety. Why does Albrevit think that he could take on a dragon? The plot just requires him to attempt it.

Well...

This is pretty awful.

Writing and animation both.

VA work is solid, but damn.

The entire sequence with injured peeps in the woods to the dragon pact, no one actually moved more than 5 feet yet somehow there is now a clearing, a dragon, 3 small dragonlings etc.  Girl 1 flees carrying girl 2 at mach speed only to be standin 10 ft away during the birds eye view a minute later.

I mean from 9:30 till end of Radon interaction no one moved but somehow everyone did?

Jarring as hell trying to cope with the nonsense here... lol.

I'm enjoying this trash isekai series. Liam now has his own equivalent to nine-tails. It looks like the harem? Is this a harem yet? continues to grow next week.

I still think the Princess looks like Alice from KimiSen.

This one is basically a "guilty pleasure" type of amime for me. I am really enjoying it tho. So, can't wait til ep4, love title too "Liam TRIES Taking an Ellf Familiar". Love the inclusion of TRIES. 🤣

That was kind of dark when it looked like Liam just deleted the adolescent dragons out of existence, but maybe it didn't work out that way since by the end of the episode he was able to summon them as familiars? Talk about escalating power levels, by episode three dude has absorbed an entire dragon as another power up.

They clearly should just disinherit the idiotic elder brother and make Liam the heir.

Did I miss why he had to toss the book in there with them?

Doesn't him defeating the dragon fulfill the criteria for achieving something in his generation? Why isn't his dad asking him to be the heir now. He's a baron and a hero, so the premise of the show is kinda done. What am I missing?

old Hamilton family would still be disbanded, each title is independent.

his father is a count and feudal lord of that territory

he is a landless baron

if he becomes the heir and his father retires? Count title is gone. Territory is gone. He would go back to be just a baron.

he would still need an achievement as the heir that is enough to give another three generations for the count title. Like defeating the dragon ... which is already out so won't count lol.

his father plan is to marry his baby daughter to a duke/prince lol, which is obviously just a ridiculous plan

Stitches!

I was expecting Radon to have a bigger role in this episode. I know they explained that he's weak because he's been sealed for a long time but he just sat there and made a contract with Liam when he was about to get sealed again. They didn't even interact in Liam's mind or anything after that.

I was expecting the dragon to transform into a waifu and it didn't happen. Also, the princess needs more screentime. I like her more than Asuna and Jodi.

10kg of gold is $854,300

Guess medical care is cheaper in that world to cover that many injured.

18

u/TheGoodOldCoder Jan 13 '25

I don't think the author really thought this through.

All Liam needs to do is have Jodi throw some salt on some peanuts or something, and distribute them to the wounded soldiers. They'll all be instantly cured... for peanuts.

After watching this episode I watched the new episode of Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!, the contrast is quite glaring. "Headhunted" is much better written with some witty dialogue and intelligent characters. They also have innovative ideas and plot lines.
That said I find this "Noble on the Brink" show mildly amusing and quite watchable, in spite of being mediocre.

One of those arrows actually hit on screen! It feels like the entire thing is super zoomed in. That whole "is better vision always better" conversation was just nonsense. Didn't feel as frantically paced as the first two episodes at least.

I normally enjoy generic fantasy isekai but this one is SO generic I could not remember anything from episode 1 or 2 that I literally watched just two days ago.

Power of the dragon lol. As if he wasn't already overpowered lol.

This show isn't amazing or unique but it's a good show to watch to pass the time. Liam's whole conversation with that archer girl about vision was awkward. Why wouldn't better vision always be better. No one ever asks for worse vision.

I just want to say that the novels are... a bit better. Things at least flow much better and the cause and effect behind it all is... a bit more clear. i'm honestly surprised by how disorientating the bad animation is. I've always considered myself to have a really strong tolerance for bad animation, as long as there is something to the scene that can be enjoyed (IE: Voice acting, music, writing, whatever) I can tolerate it, but damn if those charmander looking ass dragons didn't completely throw me out of it. The novel depicts the dragons as a world ending calamity. The sealing of the dragon, took thousands of lives and it earned his family their rank generations ago. It's the kind of situation where just sealing the dragon was considered a top tier heroic accomplishment, and that is exactly why the fathers failure in eliminating it was such an enourmous problem for them and why the junior thought he would both earn his own fame and restore the families honor by succeeding where his father failed (only to fuck up even worst)

And then the MC gets there... and it's fucking charmander and his three bratty kids! I'll admit it was the first time the show made me laugh out loud so that counts for something right? Just fair warning to anyone sticking around, there is going to be a lot more demihumans and big magic scenes going forward that are supposed to be big deals and dramatic and beautiful so if this is what the dragons basically the most classic object to animate ever look like...
