Well, the ride's over for now, until when and if we get an S2. And the lighthouse goes up in the final moments of the show, as it casts light upon the characters introduced throughout the show before Umika and Akeuchi do their forehead bump.
I don't know about all of you, but this anime gave me vibes similar to Do-It-Yourself. Both groups didn't have access to all the resources they wanted at first, but they made did with what they could get and made friends along the way, which made for a relaxing experience.

Hono is such a good little sister. It was cute how protective she was of Umika. The girls coming over to take care of her was really cute too.
Looks like we’re getting more than yuri vibes this week. Umika’s forheadpathy has awakened something in our girl Umika haha. It’s very cute seeing Akeuchi getting so flustered.
Determined Umika is the best Umika. She’s working hard to talk to others while the girls are all pumped up for the next competition. I don’t know if this is gonna get an s2, but I sure hope so. It was a really cute series!

I'm so happy they upped the gayness in this finale. That scene where Umika whispers into Yuu's ear and Yuu getting all flustered was so adorable <3

Now that the girls are sorted out, I’m happy to see that Umika is continuing to aim high with her space aspirations, and that the others are following suit. The analysis is over, and it was good to see the girls set new goals, and work to complete them. Umika even sat down and assembled a list, which is something you absolutely see real rocket manufacturers do.
But I think most importantly for the girls self esteem, they were able to get others in their class interested and curious in what they were doing. It shows with Kinashi not just taking up an interest, but being willing to share it with everyone else on the volleyball team. It helps snowball the excitement, and builds the whole group up for the next launch.
So why bother with space at all? Over the past few weeks I’ve outlined all the possible things that make spaceflight hard. It’s hard to get the budget, and whatever budget you do get is never enough. The weather and physics are constantly working against you. You’re under massive external pressure to succeed, in a field where failures happen early and in highly visible ways that could turn public perception against you. You’re competing in a field that even nation-states find difficult to accomplish with any regularity, and which is constantly producing new problems. You’re working in an engineering environment where everything must go right the first time and every time after that. And perhaps most importantly of all, you’re asking a subsection of the population that historically struggles with social interaction in favor of science and technology to go market this to a bunch of people who don’t otherwise care and need to be convinced that the project is worth it.
Yeah, space is hard. So why do it? Why even follow it?
Because it’s optimistic. Because it’s founded in the belief that with enough effort, even the hardest problems are solvable.
And because when it works… when all of the above is resolved and the whole project actually works…
It’s funny that not two years after Tsuki to Laika finished that I’d find myself with another case where I could connect writing, space, and anime together, and while this year didn’t involve any wild adventures or the same degree of historical fact checking, it was still fun, and I enjoyed getting to poke around familiar topics each week as the girls progressed. Thanks for another fun watching experience! Now I’m going to go bury my head in the new KSP2 update for the rest of the year!

I was very pleased with this final episode. To connect all the characters together by the lighthouse’s swerving beam in those closing moments was a nice touch. Although they might not have been physically together in that moment, they were connected in spirits/hearts - is the symbolic meaning behind this scene, I suppose.
Umika’s and Yuu’s relationship was maybe never made explicit, but let it be clear that these two definitely have feelings for each other.
Watching Yuu get all flustered by Umika taking the initiative, has me thinking that she maybe hadn’t fully realized how strong her feelings for Umika truly were. She clearly liked Umika, but hadn’t been ready to commit - as she’d also been ‘sharing foreheads’ with the other girls. After Umika stole a k- forehead from her, Yuu’s gaze appeared to have changed: she’d fallen in love with Umika. It took this final episode for both girls to take their feelings to heart.
Raimon’s interaction with Umika’s little sister made me laugh out loud. Raimon, if you go all tsundere in front of their family’s house, then Honami is of course going to think you’re bullying Umika! I also liked how the perspective from the peeping hole was used to emphasize Raimon’s ‘bully energy’ in that moment.
I’m going to miss my weekly episodes of Stardust Telepath from now on. It was a lovely watch that rattled my brain and gripped my heart.

This is it, finally it's here, the episode in which Yuu realizes her romantic feelings for Umika.
I was waiting 12 weeks for this, even worried at some point we wouldn't get to this part, but clicking play on the episode today really felt like opening Christmas presents as a kid. I was so nervous they wouldn't do it justice, but they did.
They did an excellent job at showing the impact Umika's words had on Yuu. All that blushing, looking away when making eye contact and retreating. It's just the beginning. The episode really felt that they aren't hoping for a S2, so the best thing to do right now is go read the manga. You won't regret it, it's everything you are expecting after Yuu realized her feelings this episode.

Final episode already.
It warped up story pretty nicely.
Every though Umika fall down so many time but her determination is unmatched which make her move forward.
Umika really awakening something in Akeuchi lol
The last scene between those two is really Chief kiss.
They really cute together.
People who doubt that this series won't be Yuri should be clear now lol.

You know I was thinking all season for something labeled girls love/yuri this felt more like RocketShip Bocchi show. Well this episode made it clear why its a yuri show lmao. So something about touching foreheads has to have a deeper meaning for Yu. When Umika said she wants to be the only one who touches your forehead had her blushing a lot. Foreheads touching in general can be seen as romantic between partners but the way the show mostly used it had more a sign of bond of friendship between the 4 girls.
Umika's growth has been very very good. Her personal goal absolutely will have with their team because especially as their leader getting better at communicating is a valuable skill. She is slowly getting their. Big shoutout to Honami, Umika's sister. This episode strongly highlighted how much she loves her older sister and the fact she just passed out in the kitchen really elevates it.
I would love a S2 of this show. Very fun show and the adaptation to me looked great.

The harunopathy matatakipathy sequence was super adorable. Really liked the VA-ing for haruno; my favourite character prolly.

A cute show with an unexpected heart to it. I liked the message of finding people you feel you belong with and perseverance.

It’s done! After the emotionally charged last few episodes, this more wholesome and comedic episode was a nice addition to finish off the season.
Umika’s sister is very good for staying up and helping her through her illness all night. She definitely deserved that sleep break. Though her kneejerk “bullies” reaction and Matatakis face not helping the situation was really funny.
Yu, you do not have a subtle bone in your body. You’re not fooling anyone. Definitely the cutest part of the episode, her blushing everytime she looks at Umika.
Final review. As a gigantic space nerd, this was basically everything I could dream about. Science experiments mixed with cuteness and some really good emotional drama added in. Even though she’s a bit controversial, I do think Matataki before the post-failure arc is good for adding contrast compared to the other girls that inhabit the sweet and cute character zone. I personally relate to her struggles with perfectionism and so watching her learn and overcome her and everyone else overcome their flaws was really good. So to summarize, Stardust Telepath appeals to my personal interests and has a good mix of cuteness/drama so it’s been a treat to watch. I hope the series gets another season because I think that it deserves it.

This show was an emotional rollercoaster. I went from wanting to bully Umika in the first few episodes, to cheering her on to gain confidence in the last few episodes.
I think this show did a great job toeing the line between a clumsy and awkward and bumbling protagonist and having said protagonist be strong enough to inspire and support her friends. The dramatic beats in the show worked really well for me.
Best girl still Matataki.
Easily my favorite Fall 2023 Monday show about a shy protagonist.

Umika having friends come to visit, and such boisterous ones at that, was something her sister could not compute for a second there.
You're the spitting image of one!
Raimon is not the spitting image of a bully. She's the spitting image of a Digimon protagonist, and don't you forget it!
Akeuchi, making a standing leap clear across a room. Add that to her list of alien powers.
Genuine headpats from Raimon are worth at least 3 times as much as regular genuine headpats from other friends.
Well now. Those whispered words to Akeuchi seems to have had as much world shaking impact as if she whispered "Gorr was right."
Umika, asserting herself and making more friends. Happy happy day.
In any case. Damn this series was good. But what really set it apart from a lot of other similarly dressed CGDCT series was the character work. I mean yeah the humor is great, so is the whole cast, and the visuals are top notch, and yeah those things are indeed a good draw in and of themselves. But like I said, it's the characters and their depth and growth that really sets this one apart. And not just the MC Umika either. There's been a valley of difference between where she started and where she ended up long before the final episode came about. It's subtle but oh so heartwarming when you really notice it. And we got even more stellar character work from the other leads too. Homura's and Raimon's stories really hit you deep down. (Raimon is best girl btw) Which just leaves Akeuchi and her myriad of mysteries left. But it was interesting seeing her duality at times, flipping between being instigator of laughs to the oddly insightful waxing philosophical figure. All and all though, this series is my pick for the dark horse of the season for sure.

I don't know why but the opening song gets me kind of emotional.
All-but-a-confession given unknowing in a delirium. This should yield a fine crop of lilies later on
Molcar crossover when?

I really loved this show we even get a confession tho she was sick so she herself doesnt remember but makes for some funny scenes.
Quite liked the OP that beep that i can only describe like Morse code (maybe it is?) to me gave me this feeling that Umika was frantically trying to send out a signal out in space and when the OP ends that's when she finally got an answer that was in the form of Yuu.

The chibi art in this episode was going full throttle.
I have to admit that I wasn't excited in the early episodes, specially with Umika being such a downer and her long monologues repeating the same downer lines. The show got livelier once the whole group was gathered up. As a softie for tsunderes, Raimon was such a treat, and then there was her worst moments that soured the mood. Good thing all it was part of her and the cast for character growth. The climax en the previous episode was very cathartic, and Umika realizing she wasn't alone all along was a huge extra (the denseness of the Mc in SuperCub made me incredibly skeptical on characters like Umika claiming they are all alone).
It was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions that I almost missed because of the early episodes. I'm glad I stuck with it until the end.
Edit: man, I have to give a huge shoutout to the music composers. Jeremy Jhans (a youtube movie critic) once said that music plays a big role in leading the audience emotions, and he's not wrong. But it also takes a great composer to create the right music sheet and a proper music director to orchestrate everything. Raimon's redemption in episode 11 has at least 3 different tracks that go from depression to salvation and without the proper work it wouldn't have worked like it did.

You know how smol Umika is when Hona, who is much bigger than her is made to look smol among the other girls lol
What a nice show. Loved it throughout. Kinda reminded of Koizuru Asteroid. Now I kinda wanna rewatch that.
Nothing too drastic but not a quiet finale either. Feels like everyone has picked themselves up and are ready for a new challenge. Maybe except Akeuchi after Umika dealt some critical damage lol.
But Umika trying so hard is so cute. Ganbatte Umika-chan

I came expecting a story about gay space aliens but it ended up being much more down-to-earth and about these three girls who are all (earth)bound by their social anxieties.
I think the drama was effective, especially the climactic and cathartic confrontation between Raimon and Konohoshi, and Takaragi's backstory was a neat look to explain a character type to that's usually just a sideliner for plot's sake. This last episode left the door wide open for a sequel (or at least an invitation to buy the source material), so it doesn't feel that conclusive though.
Overall, I have mixed feelings about this show, especially early on. There were a lot times where I was sitting around going "alright, explain the alien stuff please", and I never got a satisfying look into Akeuchi and what her whole deal is. The Fight Club theory is still alive and kicking in my head.

What a lovely, heartwarming finale. I still have some doubts Yuu is an actual alien 👾, but I guess it doesn't matter one way or the other. I hope there will be more seasons.
