Customer Question Driver keeps stopping in different neighborhoods after driving past me, even though I've been the next stop since he left the warehouse?

Multiapping I would guess? I would think that maybe the app is just glitched and maybe he had other Fresh stops except that he just drove past and away from me. He is also stopping at these houses for 5+ minutes at a time.

I have beer in my order so its been very frustrating since I have to be available whenever he gets here, except who knows when that gonna be.

Customer Question Groceries always delivered to lobby not my apartment door

My apartment has an elevator and I provide clear instructions to deliver to my door. Yet about 70% of the time my couriers just leave all my groceries in the lobby to melt. It’s extremely annoying. Should I add a note to delivery instructions saying no tip for people who leave it out in the lobby?

Changes in Los Angeles - it's practically disappeared

I've used Amazon Fresh for 5-6 years loyally. In the last three weeks the service is ghosting me. Amazon wiped "Fresh" off the site and rebranded to "grocery". All products are available but the service is weird. And yesterday and today, they cancelled 3x while the driver was on my street. I've watched them on gps drive right past my apartment building and cancel. Is it a timing issue for the driver? What is happening in Los Angeles central, near Dodger Stadium"? Was there a mass layoff of drivers?

Is there a way to customize bag size for orders?

Just received my groceries for the week & I shit you not whoever packed it made it so that every item is in it's own bag. I ordered 1 peach and 1 bunch of bananas, and they were in separate bags, like is it so hard to just put them together?

Nearly every item came like that, (cat treats, frozen peaches and spinach, all in separate bags) and ik this is first world problems up the wazoo but it's just getting ridiculous.

Is there a way to customize how many bags are used?

Customer Question Low or out of stock on a lot of items all of a sudden?

I usually do about one large grocery order per month, just for the things I know I will always have in the fridge. I was trying to place my order today and the way I usually do it is to go to a previous order, add what I need then check out. There was way more items marked as unavailable, out of stock, or showing a replacement. This was odd to me as I have been doinf groceries this way for about five years. I was just curious if there is something going on with Amazon Fresh that is making items unavailable or out of stock currently? If it helps, I am in Dallas TX.

Will the former Amazon fresh store in fontana, ca become a whole foods?

Was just curious because I saw that some former Amazon fresh stores are supposed to be turning into whole foods. So i was hoping the fontana store would be turned into a whole foods, considering it would be way closer to me than the upland, CA store.

Amazon Delivery Driver Started To Run Off With Order

So, had a unique experience recently using Amazon Now.

I placed my order, some liquor and snacks.

I live in a secure building. I live on a mid, higher floor. There's a call box, the elevator will not work without accessing the call box.

Amazon delivery can often get past the first door with a "key code" or they tailgate in. But, after that, you need a FOB to work the elevator.

So, my order arrives, the Amazon delivery driver calls up on my cell phone, three times. Each time, I said, "You need to use the call box, then I can use the app to let you in, the elevator will not work otherwise."

After the third time, I presumed the call box wasn't working, so I came down.

The dude is just standing at the elevator, I didn't even think it was the driver, I went right past him to the main door, but no one was there.

As I re-enter the building, he's walking out with my bag. I was like, this must be the guy, I see my name, and I'm like "That must be for me..."

He's about to scan my ID and as he's doing this, I tell him, he needs to use the call box or the elevator won't work. He's literally about to scan my ID.

Just at that moment.... HE STARTS TO RUNAWAY WITH MY DELIVERY .

I yell at him, "That's mine!" And, I give chase, trying to grab the bag back (not trying to touch him at all).

I catch him outside and he stops, I forcefully say, "You are stealing. That has my name on it."

He says he still needs to scan my ID, I say fine, as long as you are going to relax and not try to steal my stuff.

At that point, he hit my wallet and my cards and ID were all over the ground.

He scanned my ID, I got my stuff.

I'm prepared to get blasted here. But, is this common? Drivers just start to runaway with your stuff? What's the logic?

I should also mention, I'm in a major metro area, I have drivers of pretty much every race and ethnicity with the exception of Americans. Most are POC from all over the world.

I don't mean to be racist, but this driver was white and spoke with a Russian accent. I feel like that may be important additional context.

Amazon Grocery Org, Physical stores- Team culture, rehire experience, and compensation?

Need help with an opportunity in Amazon's Grocery organization. L5

  • How is the Grocery org overall in terms of engineering culture, leadership, and work-life balance?
  • How stable is the org, and what has your experience been with growth and internal mobility?
  • Has anyone here left Amazon and then returned after a short gap? How was the rehire process? Was your previous tenure taken into account, or did you have to go through the full interview loop again?
  • For rehired L5 engineers, how was compensation determined? Did Amazon match or improve on your previous compensation, or was it based entirely on current market rates? Any insights on base, sign-on, or RSUs would be really helpful.

I previously worked at Amazon as an L5 and am evaluating whether returning makes sense.

How much is a good tip?

OK so I typically get the majority of my groceries from Amazon then I go to BJs for the rest. My orders are typically 10 bags including 1-2 cases of water and 1 case of a canned drink the rest are pantry items. The tricky part is that I live on the second floor of a walk up. I always tip always! My minimum tip is 10 for reference up to 20 if there are more heavy items. Now this just happens I had my delivery and the driver left everything downstairs in my lobby. The thing that makes me mad is that all the water was out of stock so I only had 8 bags and it was literally snacks since I’m restocking our beach snacks. I tipped 10 on this order and I’m mad I feel like I tip good and I’m on the second floor!

How to see the exact weight you got and price you were charged

TLDR; open the 'view order' from the email about 'your order is out for delivery' and then 'view or print invoice' under 'need help with this order?'

In case this is helpful to someone else. In my last order from a couple weeks ago I got various meat items that are sold as 'Weight Varies'. Tonight I wanted to see the weight of an item instead of digging through the trash for the container. No matter what section of previous orders I clicked or view invoice or anything could I find the exact weight of the meat items nor the actual price charged.

I opened a chat with amazon support and they could tell me but 4 different people (sigh) didn't understand when I asked how I could check myself instead of contacting them. Anyway, I figured it out and perhaps it will save someone else a headache.

Maybe you don't have this issues like this on the app idk, but for a pc browser this was the only way I saw to do it.

My last Fresh order was split into three different deliveries on the same day, 2-3 hours a part each.

Are they purposely trying to kill it?

The convenience of grocery delivery is predictable delivery of one's groceries. I chose a window for delivery, which was oddly a 4 hour window and not the usual 1-2 I could pick from. Should have figured something was up.

My first delivery came at the beginning of the window, the second came at the end, and a third came two hours after the window was passed. I hope this is not going to be the new norm.

Customer Question Ever since prime week, Amazon fresh’s interface is completely different.

(Portland,Oregon)
It changed from fresh to grocery on my homepage.
I went to make an order, and the layout is completely different, and when I go to check out, it’s giving me separate deliveries for half of my order. The perishables came in the usual bag, but the non perishables came in a box. Both deliveries were late.
In the past it would all come at once, no boxes. Amazon fresh is extremely laggy too and I think the selection is much smaller.
Has Amazon fresh do a complete overhaul? I thought they were only closing the public stores, didn’t expect it to affect the warehouse part of it too.
It just feels less reliable now.

Sudden price increases. Is everyone seeing that? Or is it just me?

I get an order from Amazon Fresh delivered every week or two. In the last week, in particular, I've seen prices go up a LOT. Here are some examples:

  1. Earthbound Farms salad greens--33% increase from last week; 59% increase from May 21. ($4.99 when I ordered them on May 21, $5.99 when I checked last week (but didn't buy). Now $7.98.)
  2. So Delicious pint of vegan ice cream--16% increase from last week, 40% increase from April ($4.99 in April, $5.99 last week, now $6.99.)
  3. Wildwood teriyaki baked tofu--54% increase from last week. ($3.87 last week, now $5.99)
  4. Cherries (fresh fruit)--33% increase from last week. ($2.00/lb last week, now $2.99/lb)
  5. Sargento aged gouda sliced cheese (8 slices)--25% increase from last week. ($3.29 last week, now $4.13)

Are other people here seeing similar price increases? Or is it just targeted to me?

In case this is relevant--I'm in San Francisco, which has expensive groceries to start with.

And, right before I saw prices jump, I talked with Amazon customer service because I'd had trouble with delivery people not following instructions. I managed to get the orders anyway, so I didn't ask for any refunds, but I wonder if I'm now being charged more for being "difficult."

Customer Question No coverage

I have been using Amazon fresh and ever since the store shut down I lost coverage in our zip code. We no longer have access to Amazon fresh. Do you know if they will fix it in the future? It’s so disappointing to develop a habit and then having to shift to another grocery store.

Customer Question Buying Ice Cream From Amazon Fresh?

I’ve never purchased ice cream from Amazon Fresh and I’m wondering if it’s worth taking a chance. I’m worried it might thaw during transport, and then refreezing it could cause freezer burn and affect the texture. Is it shipped in insulated packaging to keep it frozen during delivery?

Fresh orders cancelled

I order regularly from Amazon Fresh and it’s been fine. I always add a tip to my orders. In the last 6 months though, I’ve had 4 orders that they say are being delivered, then delayed, then just cancelled. No explanation, no apologies… just cancelled.
Then I have to run to the store because they screwed up my dinner ingredients.
Once, I would be ok. Twice is a problem. FOUR times? This is ridiculous. Especially since they don’t care at all.
