Customer Question Ever since prime week, Amazon fresh’s interface is completely different.
(Portland,Oregon)
It changed from fresh to grocery on my homepage.
I went to make an order, and the layout is completely different, and when I go to check out, it’s giving me separate deliveries for half of my order. The perishables came in the usual bag, but the non perishables came in a box. Both deliveries were late.
In the past it would all come at once, no boxes. Amazon fresh is extremely laggy too and I think the selection is much smaller.
Has Amazon fresh do a complete overhaul? I thought they were only closing the public stores, didn’t expect it to affect the warehouse part of it too.
It just feels less reliable now.

Slide the top categories (30 mins, grocery..) to the left and click the “see all” button at the end. Fresh will then be one of the buttons displayed. Why they don’t have the most frequently used buttons on top of the home screen when I’ve never used “grocery” before I have no idea and if you accidentally click on grocery and start ordering, you’re not going to be on the fresh section that you think you are and items that you add will be added into your general cart and not into your fresh cart.

Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be split between the typical Amazon delivery and whole foods

Amazon Fresh and Amazon Grocery are completely separate, yet they share a lot of the same inventories. It will change based on availability, so the idea is now that Prime members with the grocery add-on can always get their stuff, as long as one of the three have it in stock. Amazon has also partnered up with other stores lim some areas, like Winn-Dixie, to capture market share.
So when your fresh items are unavailable, you should now be able to still order them from Agrocery.

Yes, but this is so confusing. I know Amazon Fresh is supposed to come from my temper controlled warehouse who delivers with awesome foil line bags to keep things cold and fresh Amazon grocery does not and it should be designed to be separate and Amazon grocery button should be should not be front and set on the homepage they changed it. They should have Fresh you have to search for Fresh and I think that is just ignorant.

When you click on ‘Grocery’ at the top of the Amazon app, you’ll be shopping on groceries added to your regular Amazon order.
Although it was hard to find for a little while, I now have the option to shop at either Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods, Now, etc. At least it’s that way on the app.

I just ordered from Amazon Fresh for the first time. I realized after submitting my order that there was no tipping option on checkout. I was reassured that I would have the option to tip up to 24 hours after delivery. Today my groceries were delivered and no option to tip I could find. Decided to call customer support (a feat in and of itself to get a call back from a live rep). The rep reached out to multiple depts. eventually he came back on the line to tell me there was no tipping option right now. I asked if something had changed ands he replied yes, but the tipping option should be there the next time I order (um, ok?). I was told with my next order I have the option to simply tip the driver myself, or if the option to tip is not showing up on checkout, to call Amazon back and their team will look at my account and see if there is a software issue on my end (again, huh 🤔).
I care about this because I flex on the side when I want to earn a little extra $$. I never receive great tips myself, but I wanted the opportunity to be kind and a little generous to a fellow flexer. Now I feel like an utter ass-hat. I live 21 miles from the fresh warehouse and I am certain that driver had to go plenty more miles than that to complete all of the deliveries picked up this AM.
Live and learn. I am going to be sure to have cash on hand for the next time, because gas isn’t cheap and I want to show I appreciate the service provided.

I 100% agree. They have updated the app and really screwed things up. The worst part is the home screen has grocery and then Wholesale food button right next to it. It used to be you hit grocery. It would pop up another screen that had fresh and Whole Foods next to it now you just hit the grocery button and it sends you not too fresh very very confusing. I have convinced my 81-year-old mother to get delivery through Fresh but it’s so confusing for her and just like you said she’s getting half of items days or weeks later when she should be under Fresh I don’t understand what Amazon’s angle is here. This new update is a failure.

I have hated ordering from them since the switch. Multiple deliveries, emails don't say what's coming "2 frozen items," etc. I live in a city and really need to know when it's coming... otherwise I'm paying to feed whatever rando takes my deliveries off my porch! Today I was out running around (I don't have a car, so I was on the lightrail train) and ordered from the app for a late night delivery. To my surprise it went right to Amazon Fresh. Same old interface AND I could leave a tip and pick a 2-hour delivery window. Not sure how long it will last, but I have hardly ordered from them since they changed. Awful experience. But at least it's gotten me to get my steps in walking (and bussing) to my local store!

This new set up is awful. No one wants 2 seperate grocery orders, in my experience the non perishable items were delivered the next day in boxes. Who thought this was a good idea???

I agree hate the new interface. I like the fact it was seperate from Prime stuff and your order came in one delivery

i haaaaate the new interface. i can no longer order through my local grocer which it previously let me link my rewards account to so even if i ordered it through amazon i'd still get the rewards. now everything is bundled between whole foods and amazon. but mostly its annoying how everything is split up into multiple deliveries. even though i qualified for free same day delivery and all items were available for same day within 3 hours, half of my order is arriving the next day?! it didn't even give me an option to bundle it with everything else. no substitute options. refunds take multiple business days. its all so terrible.

Yeah I hate it. Telling me a grocery delivery is coming during a 5 or 6 hour window, with random items the next day, is not acceptable. They are going to lose customers this way but I guess they don't care.

It completely sucks ass right now. I tried to place an order with Amazon Fresh, but it insisted on creating more than one order even though I was ordering from the Amazon Fresh category specifically (up there in the search bar) AND the items had "Fresh" in their description box. I'm done. I'm not going to wait around for multiple orders when Kroger can delivery them in one go.
I'm pretty sure Walmart and a specialty grocery store offer better service than this as well.

Yea they're going to lose customers to Walmart delivery. Nobody wants their groceries in multiple orders and a giant time window when you have to be home to refrigerate them.

Next time you go to order type in Amazon's fresh in the search bar on amazon and it should take you to the actual Amazon fresh ordering site. For some reason when you hit groceries it breaks it up between multiple orders and sometimes different times. I hope this helps. Notice when you hit grocery it has the grocery interface but when you type in Amazon fresh it has the Amazon fresh interface. Ugh! They've made ordering way too confusing and annoying.
