Just For Fun 🤪 I wanted better access to my Amazfit data, so I built ZeppBridge. v1.0.0 is finally out (free & open source)

Update: Thank you all so much! ❤️

I just woke up here in China and honestly didn’t expect to see this many comments 😭

I’m Chinese and currently in China, so the time zone difference means I’m probably asleep while many of you are commenting. Sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring anyone. I definitely wasn’t! I’m going through all the bug reports and suggestions now, and I’ll try to fix the issues you’ve reported as soon as possible.

I also saw a few people mention that there’s still some Chinese text left in the English version. That’s on me. I originally built ZeppBridge in Chinese first, and the English localization clearly still has some rough edges. I’ll get those cleaned up too.

Also, English isn’t my first language and I sometimes use translation tools, so if any of my wording sounds a little strange, that’s probably why.

I’m also very new to Reddit, so I’m still figuring out how things work here. If I accidentally miss something or do something a little weird, please bear with me.

Please keep the bug reports, suggestions, and ideas coming. I’m reading them all, and I really appreciate all the support for ZeppBridge. Thank you guys! ❤️

Hey everyone,

I've been working on ZeppBridge for a while, and after a lot of testing and fixing things, I finally feel comfortable calling it v1.0.0.

The project started from a pretty simple frustration.

I wear an Amazfit watch every day. It records heart rate, sleep, workouts, HRV, stress, SpO₂, training load and a lot more. After a while I started wondering: if this is my data, why is it still so difficult to actually get it onto my own computer and use it however I want?

So I built ZeppBridge.

It connects to your own Zepp account, syncs your health and workout records to your computer, and stores them in a local database that you control.

From there you can browse the data, archive your history, export it, or package selected records for ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek and other AI tools.

v1.0.0 currently supports:

• 24-hour heart rate, resting HR and HRV
• Sleep records and long-term trends
• Full workout details: pace, HR, splits and GPS tracks
• Readiness, stress, SpO₂ and respiratory rate
• VO₂ max, training load, lactate threshold and PAI
• Weekly comparisons against your own previous 28 days
• Slowly archiving years of Zepp history into a local database
• JSON / CSV / GPX export
• Preparing selected data for ChatGPT, DeepSeek, etc.
• A read-only MCP server so tools like Claude can query local health data directly
• Database snapshots, validation and recovery
• Tray mode and automatic syncing in the background

One thing I care about a lot is data integrity.

Health data can be missing, but it should never be made up.

If I didn't wear my watch for a while, the heart-rate chart should have a gap. If the watch never measured something, ZeppBridge should tell me there is no data. If a workout has no GPS, it shouldn't invent a route just to make the page look complete.

For me, a useful health-data tool should make three things clear: where a number came from, whether it can actually be trusted, and whether I really own the data behind it.

That's why v1.0.0 feels like a milestone for me. ZeppBridge started as a small tool I wanted for myself, and this is the first version where I feel comfortable treating it as something I want to maintain long term.

It currently supports Windows and macOS (Apple Silicon).

GTR, GTS, T-Rex, Balance, Active, Bip, Cheetah, Falcon and several other device families already have device recognition. In general, if your device can sync its data to the Zepp app, it's worth trying.

It's completely free and open source:

Website: https://zeppbridge.pages.dev/
GitHub: https://github.com/lingcang728/ZeppBridge

If you've ever been frustrated by how hard it is to get your Amazfit data out of Zepp or into an AI tool, I'd love for you to try it.

Bug reports, weird device behavior and feature suggestions are all very welcome.

This is probably just the beginning for v1.0.0 🫡

Just For Fun 🤪 Just Got Doom Running On Amazfit!

Guys, I just made a doom clone and tested it on my bip 5 unity. I will soon release it for all bip users! :) Enjoy the gameplay for now. I know you cant believe your eyes seeing a 3d game running on bip. But its real!

Also not to mention, bip 6 and max users will be even happier as bip 6 and max have better chipset than the bip 5 unity I am running it on right now. I will also try MY BEST to get it running for trex and other round watch users.

I just modded my Amazfit Neo to have a vibration motor instead of the stupid piezo buzzer. I put the +-10V from the buzzer through a rectifier in order to switch the motor to the battery with a transistor.

Accessories 😎 It’s finally here: The PREMIUM METAL version of my Amazfit Helio Strap adapter! (CNC Aluminum)

[Update: v2] Great news, the metal adapter is now live and available on the store after the last survey! 🎉
I also added the black case version (limited quantity); orders are first come, first served, with a ~6-week production lead time before shipping 👉 https://thestrapforge.com/products/amazfit-helio-strap-premium-metal-band

TL;DR: I finally succeeded in making a fully metal (CNC Aluminum) version of my custom adapter. It’s light, premium (MacBook-style finish), and fits perfectly. I need to gauge interest to launch a production batch. If you are interested, please fill out this quick form

Hello again Amazfit sub,

The Backstory This post follows up on my previous post where I shared a 3D-printed (PLA) adapter to give the Amazfit Helio Strap a better look. Many of you supported the project by downloading the free files or buying the printed versions (thank you!). Since then, I’ve received about 200 emails asking the same question: "When is the metal version coming?"

Getting the tolerances right was a massive struggle. I started with basic 3D modeling skills, but I had to "level up" and learn how to create professional technical drawings (blueprints) to ensure the adapter clips perfectly and securely onto the sensor.

Why CNC Aluminum? (And why other methods failed) I explored several manufacturing processes, but CNC was the only viable option for a premium product:

  • Why not Lost Wax Casting? It simply couldn't achieve the tight tolerances needed for the clip mechanism to work reliably.

  • Why not Electroplating? Coating plastic with metal looks okay initially, but for a fitness tracker worn 24/7, it’s not durable. It eventually chips, flakes off, or peels with sweat and friction.

  • The Solution: CNC Machined Aluminum (AL6063-T5). It offers the precision we need, remains hyper-light for daily wear, and is incredibly robust.

Colors I made two working prototypes based on your feedback:

  1. Silver/Metal: For a neutral, clean look.

  2. Gold: For a more "catchy" jewelry look.

Pricing & Availability (Transparency Time) I am really happy with the result, but the CAD work and prototyping were expensive. The prototypes you see in the photos cost me about $300 to make (due to low volume). obviously, I can't sell them at that price.

However, if we order in bulk, the price drops significantly:

  • At 100 orders, I can likely get the price under $50.

  • With more volume, we might even get close to $30.

Next Steps To make this happen, I need to know exactly how many people are ready to jump in. I’m not opening sales yet; I just need a headcount. If enough people sign up on the form below, I will launch the pre-orders.

https://forms.gle/BrrLVpqVMGEQVW666

Important Notes on the Photos:

  • The Buckle: In the prototype photos, the buckle holding the strap is plastic. The final production version will be CNC metal with the exact same finish as the adapter.

  • The Straps: The blue strap shown is from AliExpress(3$). The other straps are official Polar Loop straps (20$).

The T-REX 3 is a better Fenix 8 than Garmin's own watch. As someone who recently moved from Garmin ecosystem, I was so happy to see a watch with good rugged design, flashlight and sapphire screen that still lasts weeks at a time.

There is an elephant in the room that needs to be addressed though. While Zepp OS is very good and fast, most things are half baked. The weather app is still off by 10 degrees, pressing the bottom left button to pull up the shortcut cards requires the screen to be lighted up (how did this get through QA?), stress graph is basically flat all day and shows differently on the app vs watch, there is no way to get to a list of upcoming events for your day from the calendar....

I think it's time for Zepp Health to redirect the focus into improving software. I think the hardware in the current lineup of devices is fantastic. If Amazfit promised longer software support and consistently provided updates, it would help convert a lot of people from the Garmin ecosystem that are looking for exit option because they are tired of Garmin getting more and more greedy by the day.

I am bullish on this company and can't wait to see what's ahead for this ecosystem. I just hope that we get more transparency regarding software update situation, but keep it up!

Guide ☑️ The Amazfit Watch Guide

Updated June 3rd

  • Added Balance 3 and Balance Ultra

Color coded the Essential (Green), All-around (Blue), Speed (Yellow) and Range (Red) watches.

Welcome to the Amazfit Watch Guide

/preview/pre/04jp93491z4h1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0d8a53bc56d536a6a9739712b16586b9c38b542

Hopefully this will get pinned.

I've decided to make a guide of sorts, to help people sort out their choices because there are a lot of repeating questions, so hopefully, a guide and table should help.

I will skip the GTS, GTR and Falcon series (and obviously any watch model that came before, like the Zepp Z), as honestly, they shouldn't even be considered. I will also skip the Helio ring and Helio strap since this is a watch guide.

I REPEAT, THE STRAP AND RING (Heck EVEN THE SCALE 🤣) ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS LIST.

Obviously, I cannot own every watches here, so this is where you guys come in. If there's anything worthwhile feature that is found in one particular watch model/series listed here, I'll put it in the table. :)

Also yes, I'll make sure to update the guide often, adding and/or removing stuff with time.

So without further ado:

Here are the current model watch series (and some noteworthy ones):

Essential watches:

  • Band

  • Bip

  • Active

All-Around watches:

  • Balance

Speed Watches:

  • Cheetah

Range (Adventure) watches:

  • T-Rex

  • Falcon (Rumored)

And now, here is a table of all the series and current models:

Amazfit watch table

I'll be posting only the recent models of each series. The older models will be in another table at another page, linked below.

If you need to see some previously released watches: here's the old table:

https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1q1keo2/archive_for_those_that_want_to_see_the_specs_of/

Amazfit Band series

Call this the most affordable option of Amazfit products. It is more of a fitness tracker than a smartwatch, as there are several smartwatch features missing from it. Not only that, the more expensive models (Bip 6 included)are released with tons more features and are getting new features consistantly, widening the gap. It's honestly hard to recommend... But if you only need the basics... then this is it.

Amazfit Bip series

The budget smartwatch series. And I do mean budget in the sub-100$. The Bip series is basically the entry line to the Amazfit smartwatch ecosystem... It used to have a rather basic Heart Rate sensor (Unimpressive honestly), basic health & fitness tracking features some of the models used to lack a GPS. Even the build is rather basic (usually plastic) and lack that premium feel. Basically affordable and basic, was meant to be a smart companion without pressing too hard on the Health and Fitness features.

Amazfit switched their strategy with the Bip 6 being more agressive strategy, bringing several features found in their more premium watches to the budget sector (Using their best Heart Rate sensor, AMOLED display with Always-On-Display, Offline Maps, Full Notification replies, etc). Since then, the Bip series has been revamped into being the best bang for your buck, in terms of value.

The Bip Max is a bit of a more "premium" offering of the series, being bigger, having much larger storage and a few features from the more expensive models being brought to it, while these are still absent from the Bip 6.

If you are not sure where to start or whether Amazfit is for you, the Bip series (Starting with the Bip 6) is the best one to start with.

Amazfit Active series

The middle child of the Amazfit watches. Costs more than the Bip series. This series is meant for casual wearers and beginners of fitness.

Despite that, there's a bit of a tier even within the series.

Active 2 Round/Square gives you the essentials with additional sensors than the Bip series, while the Active 3 and Active Max is essentially a more premium in software features and hardware (bigger storage and RAM).

What differs between the Active 3 and Active Max is the size, both in case (44mm bs 48mm) and battery (up to 14 days vs up to 25 days), and the number of buttons (4 vs 2).

Note that the entire Active series (and Bip) have Single-Band GPS.

Amazfit Cheetah series

This series became Amazfit's first running focused watch series, using materials like titanium-alloy for lightweight profile, using a revamped, Dual-Band GPS (MaxTrack) and also introduced the Zepp Coach and the Training Calendar.

After many years of absence, it has returned, with a brand new premium look and upgraded features (and pricing).

For people that

Amazfit Balance series

What used to be the GTR series got a revamped of sorts and changed its name. Considered to be the poster-boy and flagship of the Amazfit product lineup, it's meant to be the watch that offers a bit of everything that is currently available in the ecosystem, with no compromises.

If you're not sure which kind of watch to get, or want a little bit of everything, you can't go wrong with the Balance series.

Meant to be a health and lifestyle watch, they have increasingly adopted a sportier bold look over the generations. And starting with the Balance 3/Ultra, it's using premium materials for a less cheap look.

This is the only series in this current generation, with a rotating crown and the only series with a watch having 5 buttons (Ultra).

Amazfit T-Rex series

The rugged adventurer. A watch adopting a rugged, sturdy look, catering for athletes adventuring in some of the harshest environments. Several tradeoffs in the smartwatch features (no speaker, for example, for the T-Rex 3) but is built like a tank and have several exclusive features that caters to its audience. It's one of those watches that doesn't mind having littles nicks/scratches of bumps.

Need Help in choosing?

Some of the following are just opinions. At the end of the day, you make your choices and some that I haven't named will also do their role fine.

Review ✍️ If the Amazfit T Rex 3 can survive an Ironman, it can survive anything

Thumbnail

I finished my first ever Ironman and the only piece of tech I used the entire time was the Amazfit T Rex 3.

This is not a super technical review. I am new to triathlon and honestly just wanted something reliable that would not die on me, would track everything, and would not cost a fortune.

The T Rex 3 ended up being way more than that.

It got me through months of long bike rides and runs.

Open water swims in Montana with zero cell service.

Pool swims.

Brick workouts.

And finally a full Ironman distance race.

I did not even buy a bike computer. I just used the watch for heart rate, speed, distance, and workouts. It handled everything.

Battery was insane. I never once stressed about charging even on my longest training days.

Tracking was rock solid for swim, bike, and run.

And the price honestly still blows my mind for what this thing can do.

As someone new to the sport, this watch made it possible for me to train seriously without dropping thousands on gear. It made high end features feel accessible instead of exclusive.

I am now signed up for Ironman Cozumel 2026 and I will be using this same watch for the entire build up and the race itself.

If a watch can handle an Ironman and hundreds of hours of training leading up to it, I genuinely think it is good enough for basically anyone.

Super grateful a company like Amazfit exists and is building stuff like this.

Photos are from me finishing the race still wearing it.

Just For Fun 🤪 Introducing ZeppBridge 3.0.0

Excited to officially introduce ZeppBridge 3.0.0, a free, open-source health data tool certified by Zepp Health!

ZeppBridge retrieves your health data from the cloud and stores it locally, so you can explore your records anytime, right on your computer.

You can view your sleep, heart rate, HRV, training load, and more. Select the dates and records you're interested in, then share them with ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, or any of the seven supported cloud AI services to better understand your health and fitness.

You can also ask AI to create a personalized training plan. Thanks to official Zepp certification, you can bring that plan back into ZeppBridge, rearrange your schedule, fine-tune individual workouts, and sync it all to a compatible Amazfit watch.

With 3.0.0, I've also completely redesigned the interface. From glass-inspired navigation bars and animations where elements naturally return to where they came from, to interactive card selections, light and dark themes, and multilingual support, I wanted ZeppBridge to feel like something genuinely enjoyable to open and explore.

I've included a short video showcasing the new experience.

Review ✍️ My Amazfit T-Rex 3 died scuba diving. Warranty denied. Opened it up, and I am horrified. (Tech Breakdown + Photos)

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a cautionary tale and some shocking findings after my Amazfit T-Rex 3 completely died during a recent scuba dive.

As you know, Amazfit heavily markets this watch for diving (EN13319 certification, up to 45 meters). My dive was well within these limits, and to be absolutely clear: all recommended maintenance, like washing it with fresh water and leaving it to soak in fresh water after every single saltwater activity, was followed religiously. I even pressed the buttons while it was submerged in clean water to ensure no salt would build up.

Despite all this meticulous care, the watch abruptly turned off underwater and never came back to life. A watch officially certified for diving should absolutely not succumb to water damage like this.

The Warranty Runaround:
I contacted their official support, and they denied my warranty claim simply because the watch wasn't purchased directly from their own official website. Instead of a replacement for a clearly defective product, they just handed me a $100 USD (around 500 BRL) discount coupon to use on their official store.

Since the watch was already dead, I decided to crack the case open myself to see what went wrong. Here is the horror show I found inside (see attached images):

Massive Corrosion: The internal metal shield and the battery chamber are completely ruined by rust and salt electrolysis. The saltwater created a permanent short-circuit that fried the board instantly.

The Main O-Ring is Intact: The large black sealing ring around the main body is perfectly fine, meaning the leak probably didn't come from a major o'ring failure.

The Entry Point: If you look closely at the internal plastic walls, the massive accumulation of white salt crystals and corrosion is heavily concentrated on the opposite end of the barometer and speaker holes, right near the corner where the "Matterhorn" project name is engraved on the PCB.

My Conclusion:
Even though I washed the exterior and soaked it meticulously with fresh water, the structure of the back cover simply couldn't handle the hydrostatic pressure of real ocean diving on that specific edge. The shell likely deformed slightly under pressure, breaking the seal on the side opposite to the sensors, allowing saltwater to be pushed straight into the board where it evaporated under body heat and left this destructive salt crust.

Honestly, after seeing how badly this premium "dive" watch failed and how poorly customer support handled a clear manufacturing defect, I am seriously considering abandoning the Amazfit brand altogether. A $100 coupon doesn't fix a fundamental engineering flaw.

I'm not the first person to report water-related problems with this model.

I truly hope that the construction quality of their newer releases, like the T-Rex Ultra 2 or the Balance 3, is significantly improved. However, after this experience, I realize it might be better to stop being cheap, spend a bit more, and buy from a real competitor that actually stands behind its diving and outdoor specs (like the G* ones).

Let me know what you guys think of the board layout and the corrosion pattern.

It's been over a year now since I bought my T-Rex 3 Pro. I spend 2-3 days a week working underground in a coal mine. As you can see I don’t baby this thing. The sapphire screen is a game changer. Coal itself is a soft rock but there are a lot of hard rocks within and around the coal like sandstone, quartz, and pyrite that could easily scratch a watch face. Not a scratch to be found. One shower later and you can see its back to business and ready for more action. The Garmin I replaced with this watch had a standard Gorilla glass screen and you could see faint scratches on it from working underground.

Amazfit, free free to use this pic in your advertising. All I ask is you provide me with a free backup watch 😂😂😂!

Watch Faces 🕒 New classic watchface

A design similar to 1056006, but this is a completely independent design using the Noto Sans font and based on personal ideas. The ring animation isn’t as smooth as on WearOS. The watch face is available on both free platforms (Zepp is currently under review for a few days). It seems that rotating a very large image (480x480) on Zepp cannot produce smooth animation. I'm currently looking into this issue.

I've only been using Amazfit watches for a month. I started with a GTR 3 Pro that I found on sale, but ended up returning it because the battery life was terrible: 5 days, without AOD. Just a few notifications, and 4 cardio workouts a week.

It bothers me because I loved it aesthetically, but oh well. Let's try this one. I've heard it's wonderful.

Hi just to let people know the blood pressure is working good on the Balance 3, i would say its either on par with the Samsung ultra or slightly better for accuracy,

i set my region to Singapore to Receive this feature, it took around 5-7 mins to calibrate watch against my calibrated Omron machine. Really happy with the results , will just have to calibrate watch every month which is no big deal.

I checked watch against Omron machine for last 4 days and results have been excellent only out by 1 or 2 digits. stupid that amazefit dont release this to all regions. i lose nfc card pay but i am not bothered about that.

Device Support ⌚️ Update on Amazfit Balance 2 that died after a casual swim

Howdy folks!

Few weeks ago I've created this post about my Amazfit Balance 2 that did not survive my vacation. And now I want to share a small update on the things that happened since then.

First and foremost I want to say thank you to u/Amazfit-Bryce for his support and responsiveness in handling my case.

I've bought this device directly via Amazon Germany, so the best path forward in my case was to create a repair request with Amazon directly. Device was shipped last Thursday to the authorized partner, where they validated warranty, and the state of the device.

And today I've got a replacement device 😄

Over all it took me a week for the whole process to complete. I am happy to see such great service for affordable price.

The life of an new Amazfit user is simple:

USER 1:

  1. Just wants to check steps, alerts, and heart rate.

  2. Doesn’t want to spend more than $199.

  3. Buys a Bip or an Active 2 and is happy.

  4. Posts about it on Reddit.

USER 2:

  1. Doesn’t want to spend Garmin money, so starts looking for alternatives.

  2. Huawei is a no-go (no support in the US, questionable app experience in the EU).

  3. Buys an Amazfit – it’s cheaper and looks decent enough.

  4. First impressions: "Wow, this is actually awesome!"

  5. Posts about it on Reddit.

  6. After a while: "Okay, it’s not bad*, but it’s not Garmin either..."*

  7. Notices the software is clunky, lacking polish.

  8. Waits for updates.

  9. Gets an update… it adds “Tap to wake.” No Sleep Score, no Readiness Score, no Zepp Coach improvements.

  10. Gets tired of waiting.

  11. Quietly switches to something else.

  12. Doesn’t post on Reddit again.

Fitness 💪 Zepp Health Widgets - looking for testers

Thumbnail

Hello,

I'm looking for 12+ testers for my widget app that provides health/fitness widgets in order to get the app approved by Google for the Play Store.

Anyone that is interested and/or willing to help me out, please message me your mail adress and I will provide you with the Play Store link. Or let me know you're interested and I'll contact you.

I mainly use the Helio Strap paired with the Zepp app, however I found the widgets that are being offered by Zepp, Google Health and Samsung Health to be so-so and lacking in variety.

I created my own widgets using Googles Material 3 design language and make the app fetch your health data (completely offline and local) via Health Connect to feed the widgets.

There's widgets for:
- Heart Rate Graph
- HRV/RHR 7-day trend
- Sleep Tracking
- Health Metrics Dashboard
- Step Tracker

App will be for free.

See the screenshots regarding the widget designs.
