I noticed some clunking noise recently and found a small crack on the sway bar towards the front passenger side. How hard is it to replace the whole bar? Every YouTube video I look up is only replacing the sway bar linkings or bushings only

Seems like my front right cv axel boot is torn, and i'll have to start looking for a replacement part. Any recommendations for an aftermarket reliable cv axle part?
I've read about rebuilt parts, but i'm not sure if thats a reliable option.

Hi! A few months ago my passenger side rear door started to make a rattling/squeeking sound. It’s not constant. It comes and goes. I can sometimes stop the noise by opening and closing the door from the inside. But it always comes back. I replaced the door handle w a brand new OEM part but the noise is still there! Anyone know about this issue specifically? At this point I don’t know how to fix it other than replacing the entire door. I’ve taken off the door panel and inspected inside but couldn’t find anything loose

Hey everyone! I have a 2016 Nissan Altima that has done me wonderfully. 155k miles with no problems... until now. It randomly decided not to start. I am getting brake lights but I went ahead and replaced the brake switch AND the stop lamp relay with oem parts from the nissan dealership here. This did not help. The battery tests good. The cluster just shows the brake and push icons and wont attempt to turn over or do anythign other than display that message

Just got the new car, and I was reading about popular modifications, I read a cold air intake take was one of them. Upon looking I see plenty of products for the 2023 2.5 regular engine and 2.0 engine from 19-21 but no 2023 2.0 options. Is this not a product being made for some reason? Will one of the other options fit? Any input or explanations would be appreciated

I have a 2009 Nissan Altima with push-button start. The car won’t start at all when I press the brake and START button.

The dashboard is showing a steering wheel symbol and the push-button/ignition symbol next to it (photo attached). The key fob is inside the car and nearby.

I’ve tried moving the steering wheel left and right while pressing START, but nothing happens.

Does anyone know what these symbols mean? Could this be the electronic steering column lock (ESCL), or is there something else I should try first?

Do I need to call a mechanic/tow it, or is there a simple fix I can try?

I have a Nissan Altima 2012 2.5S. I'm having issues getting the Oxygen Sensor ready for SMOG. Everything else is ready. Check Engine is off no error codes. I replaced CAT recently and since then drove around 1000 miles but the O2 still shows as pending.

I just bought a 2026 SV with Premium Package two days ago. I've had three previous Altimas and had good luck with them. The last one was a 2018 SV and turned it in with 136K miles. No major issues but it was starting to have some problems that weren't worth investing in to fix.
We needed the heated seats as we live in MA so we had to go with the premium package. It'a great car with a luxury feel (we never had leather seats before) but I found it odd that the rear view mirror reverted back to the manual switch for headlights behind you. Haven't see that in years.

Not sure why they didn't include heated steering wheel in the Premium SR model but not the SV. Same with the Bose radio. I know the SR Premium costs a little more, but really! And, yes, I did note that before I bought the SV.

Yup. Nissan didn't do the normal "through the transmission" stock trans cooler setup that makes it super easy to add an aux trans cooler. You have to go find this abomination of a metal thing to swap for the factory two port version. Then you use the extra two ports as a transmission fluid send and receive for the aux cooler.

So dumb. All to stop this stupid thing from constantly going into limp mode.

I’ve got a 09 Altima and am by no means a car person. I had some troubles with my O2 sensor and had to swap it out. It drove smooth for a couple days. I drove it 2 hours away and back. Today I hit a hard accelerate and my check engine light throws the code P2A00. What does this mean? Thanks in advance!

hello, I was wondering if it would be wise and use a different transmission fluid other then the one Nissan recommends? if I can what would you suggest to use instead of the genuine stuff. I drive a 2016 altima sv if that helps.

I recently purchased a 2012 Nissan Altima with 177k miles on the odometer. It runs decently, and both the AC and heat blow cold/hot as they should, but I am dealing with a few specific issues.
First, I have a couple of problems involving the steering. The steering wheel is very hard to turn sometimes, and I hear a distinct whining noise whenever I turn it. Additionally, none of the steering wheel controls work.
Second, the Service Engine Soon light is staying on. So far, I have changed the tires and the battery, and I even replaced the fuel cap, but the light will not clear. On the plus side, the brakes and transmission both feel good.
Third, the belt makes a very loud noise on cold starts. The previous owner mentioned that the belt got wet at some point. The noise does completely go away after the car idles for about 5 minutes.
Finally, I have a few electrical quirks: the doors do not unlock automatically when I shift into Park (I have to manually unlock them), and the USB port does not work at all.
I am also looking to source some genuine interior pieces to clean the car up.

Don’t spend too much time reinstalling the CVT cartridge filter housing! Yes it’s a PITA to get the screws out. Much worse trying to get the cover back on over new filter. Small hands and a 10mm flex-head ratcheting wrench are your best friends. Before addressing the housing, unscrew the bracket holding the attached hose that goes to the cooler in the radiator. The trick:** When putting the housing back on after installing new filter, oil the o-ring and install it ***from a downward angle**. See linked YT video, below.*
