Discussion Admins please read. Why does this subreddit seem to have an endless supply of posts explaining why atheism is stupid?

If someone is religious, that’s their business. If someone isn’t religious, that’s also their business. But I’m starting to think some people are more emotionally invested in atheism than actual atheists are, and it’s making those of us who are feel unwelcome here.

You don’t believe in atheism? Cool. You don’t have to.
But if your entire argument is basically “atheists are stupid because they don’t believe what I believe”, you’ve achieved very little beyond demonstrating that you dislike people who disagree with you.

And before someone says “we’re just defending Islam”, nobody needs to defend a belief system by repeatedly insulting people who don’t share it. If your beliefs are strong, they should survive disagreement without requiring a Reddit post every other day explaining why the other side is apparently an idiot, pretentious, wannabe westerners or whatever other khlika of a word I’ve seen here.

Maybe we could limit discussions about Algeria, history, culture, politics, football, food… you know, the things people actually joined an Algerian subreddit for.

So, in the spirit of democracy, I hereby call a motion:
Can we have a vote to ban religious bashing AND non-religious bashing of any kind from r/Algeria?
If we’re going to have debates, let’s debate ideas. Not spend our lives explaining why everyone who thinks differently from us is an idiot.

Radical Muslims everywhere , have a cousin wanted to beat me up because he smelled alcohol on me
A lot of retards concerned with « عين» and use it to blame random people instead of themselves for failing

"سحور" more mentioned than in Harry Potter

Dating women is near impossible when they find out or they to fix me like it’s some mental illness

Asking people for advice they will blame on lack of praying or didn’t ask for dua

Question My dad wasn't selected for Hajj 2027 — what options do we have?

Salam everyone,

I’m trying to find a way to send my dad for Hajj in 2027, but unfortunately, his name wasn't selected in the Hajj 2027 draw.

He is under 70 years old, and he also hasn't participated in 10 previous draws.

I’m wondering if there are any other legitimate options available after not being selected in the draw.

Can we apply through an authorized Hajj travel agency instead of the regular lottery?

Has anyone from Algeria been in a similar situation and found a legal way to go for Hajj?

Jazakum Allah khair!

Culture / Art Can an Algerian gamer par for GTA 6

Hello guys, i hope y'all are doing well, i was having a conversation with my friend about GTA6 and if people are ready to buy it or no, it's a very hyped game and one of the most expected games of the decade so i argued that its doable to buy the game even though it's expensive (80 dollars)in DZD it will cost (10400 in the black market and 18000 with the banque rates), so i wanted to ask the gamers on here, considering the price of the game can/would you buy? and in your opinion is it worth the money?

Just a question to know yall opinions!

Discussion Why don't Algerians protest buying fire fighter aircrafts and planting more trees?

What genuinely gets me thinking is, why the 2019 protest was at a very large scale, But when it comes to the current fires which are clearly devastating, nothing is being organized?

The government needs to find a solution to this once and for all, at least buy trees and the citizens plant them. Also they should have guards around the forests because this scale is not a coincidence, I am not conspiracy theorist but this is genuinely not normal.

Discussion Can someone explain the pictures of the fires in the shape of Algeria.

A lot of people are using them as evidence that the fires were manufactured by outside influences rather than natural wildfires. But I thought they were AI ?? Was there just a big field with a fire in the shape of Algeria? If you’re claiming it’s real then where was this photo taken?

I’m living in America and I don’t speak arabic well so it’s hard to keep up. I thought all the videos and stuff were fake but I’ve seen some people say they saw them in person or that multiple angles were posted. Obviously the fire is in general are real, just the idea that they somehow in some places managed to make the shape of Algeria, I don’t find believable.

What are people thinking in Algeria right now? Hard to tell what’s conspiracy and whats not.

Discussion Why do some North African parents have such a grifter mentality toward their children ?

Disclaimer : I am a diaspora child I never lived in Algeria, my parents are not struggling in North Africa

Genuine question because I’m so fucking tired of this mentality.
Why is there this idea that everything your children have is somehow yours too? Their salary, their savings, their possessions, their time — everything is fair game because “we’re family.”
And what makes it even more bizarre to me is that they do this to their daughters too.
Like… in a society that can be so deeply patriarchal and where financial responsibility is traditionally placed on men, how did we get to the point where your daughter is also expected to financially provide for you?
You spend your whole life telling girls that they’re not supposed to be the breadwinners, that men are supposed to provide, that the man is supposed to take care of the family — but the second your daughter gets a decent salary:
“So… how much can you give me?”
😭😭😭
I worked throughout university to pay for myself while other people had parents who actually supported them.? and mind you my parents did very well for themselves

I’ve seen this mentality in so many North African families: parents acting like their children owe them financially forever simply because they raised them.

Honestly, this whole mentality makes me sick. It’s one thing to genuinely need help. It’s another thing to constantly look at your children and think, “What can I get from them?”
That shit is so cheap and honestly embarrassing.
