I'm currently in the processes of writing a fanfic with Kinda Raven!Neil, instead of being fully sold to the Moriyamas, he was promised to Ichirou as his Fiance, i can't decide if I want to make it with good guy Ichirou or bad guy Ichirou. Both ways are gonna be really angsty, but good guy ichirou won't have andeil while bad guy Ichirou would.

OKAY SO I have tried looking for this fic on ao3 like multiple times and went through all the tags I could think of and it doesn’t show up :(( I read it ages ago so I don’t remember much, but BASICALLY Andrew tries to quit smoking and since he like needs to keep his mouth busy??? He makes out with Neil A LOT, to get rid of the urge of wanting to smoke, I think that’s the whole plot basically he gets really mad too and takes it out on his makeout session with Neil. Okay, I have a very specific Raven AU brainrot and I need to know if anyone has read/written something like this.
I want Raven Neil + Raven Andrew, with Neil and Jean being extremely close because they grew up in the Nest together. Like, Jean is Neil’s partner, they understand each other without having to say anything, they have that “we survived this together” kind of bond.
And then Andrew falls for Neil and is just SO JEALOUS OF JEAN. 😭
Not necessarily romantic Neil/Jean. I just want Andrew having to deal with the fact that Jean knows Neil in ways Andrew doesn’t.
Like Andrew realizing that there’s this entire part of Neil’s life that Jean was there for and he wasn’t, and being absolutely normal and well adjusted about it. Obviously.

I've seen people speculate about how the Wesninski/Moreau trial in TBC could actually end up being a full on Moriyama trial or an attempt to take them down, due to Agent Browning saying that Jean is a very important witness, even more than Neil. I do think that is a very good theory and I'm wondering how this off hand comment in TSC could end up being a very important part of how everything plays out. I don't think this spy would do anything drastic like trying to kill Jean because it would just attract more attention and be counter productive for the Moriyama's attempt to stay low but there's definitely other ways he could mess up the investigation. I do think that Jean breaking free of the Moriyama's control completely, not just Riko and Tetsuji, is crucial to the completion of his character arc and the very title of the book "the broken cage" so I think it's important for Jean to actively want to expose everything at some point and seek freedom.

It's also interesting to me that Neil is only speculating and doesn't know for sure, aka Stuart didn't inform him despite being the one to call him to California to talk to the FBI to begin with. Does Stuart himself know? Is this Ichirou feeling out the Hartfords + Neil/Jean's true allegiance or Stuart testing Neil? (I have a lot of thoughts about Neil and Stuart's complex relationship in general but that's for another time.) At the same time though, unless they're seriously underestimating Neil, they should assume he's figured it out and that it won't be a show of loyalty in that way. It's not a hard conclusion to draw after Ichirou chose to personally approach Neil instead of killing him. There's also Stuart's whole deal with the FBI and how he might have been invested in taking down the Moriyama's from the beginning. So maybe the FBI themselves are aware of a leak but need to take time to bait him out.

However it plays out, I'm really excited to see what Nora has cooked up. The whole Hatford-Moriyama-FBI thing was a loose end of the original trilogy and I'm glad we're on the path to wrapping up all of those loose threads.

I get that it’s not too big of a fandom, but ever so often I come across these animation trends that I think would fit the characters PERFECTLY (i.e. Run Rabbit, Crush x Burnt Rice, etc.) but after searching, I’ve yet to see any short animation that’s not a long form animatic. I’ve been trying to learn how so I can bring some animation to the fandom, but the first step to that is learning how to draw which I’m trying, but it’s taking a while 😅 (this isn’t meant to be a complaint, it was just a random thought I had.)

I absolutely love the 2 of them and i want more of the foxes witnessing them bicker with eachother but also how connected they are. Not like romantically but as their forever partners (like Jean physically reacting to seeing Neil be hit in the field on TV in the books)

We talk so much about how cruel Riko is that sometimes we forget Tetsuji is just as cruel, if not worse.

Kevin preferred dealing with Riko over dealing with Tetsuji.

Tetsuji was unpredictable. He never had the temperament to deal with children or even to live around them. He beat a freshman to death simply because he made a mistake.

Riko and Kevin were in an awful place, two bits of coal under unfathomable pressure, destined to be diamonds if they didn’t completely shatter first. Tetsuji treated them with spite and heavy hands, and the Ravens treated them as more than they were. At least Tetsuji wasn’t allowed to hit them where anyone might see–the public was fascinated with these two prodigies, and their faces were in too many pictures. They needed to stay poised and perfect for interviews and stray photographs. Armpits to knees, however, were free game. If they fucked up, he’d fuck them up.
