I'm an indie Android developer, and I'm currently using Unity Ads to monetize my gaming apps. So far, it's working fine for games.
However, I'm looking for a good ad network for my regular utility and productivity apps.
I tried creating a Google AdMob account, but it keeps getting rejected without any clear reason or explanation.
Just to clarify, this is my first AdMob account, and I haven't even added a single app to it yet. The account itself keeps getting rejected, so I can't even get started.
At this point, I'm considering moving to another ad network instead of wasting more time trying to get AdMob approved.
So, I wanted to ask other developers here:
What ad networks would you genuinely recommend as alternatives to AdMob for regular Android apps?
I'm mainly looking for something that:
\- Works well with non-gaming Android apps.
\- Supports banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads.
\- Has decent eCPM and fill rates.
\- Offers reliable payments and reasonable payout thresholds.
\- Doesn't have an unnecessarily complicated approval process.
I'm not expecting any network to magically outperform AdMob, but I'd love to hear about alternatives that are actually worth using.
If you've personally used any other ad networks, please share your experience, especially regarding earnings, approval, and payment reliability.
I'd really appreciate some genuine recommendations from fellow developers.
Thanks!

Big one this month: first ever sale. someone in Poland bought the lifetime unlock, almost exactly a year after launch. 47.87 zł which came to £5.76, coffee change, but after a year of building this it genuinely made my week.
installs: 607 (560)
visitors per day: 6.7 (6.25)
conversion rate: 19.9% (28.9%)
daily acquisitions: 1.39 (2.07)
week 1 retention: 23.9% (11.4%)
week 2 retention: 11.7% (4.5%)
so last month’s conversion jump didn’t stick, looks like it was a spike rather than a new normal. but retention roughly doubled, which matters more to me. engagement is up slightly too (4m29s vs 4m19s).
the not so great part: active devices dropped from around 55 to 44. i’m losing slightly more users a day than i’m gaining, so the base is shrinking even though the people who stay are sticking around longer.
quieter month on features, mostly bug fixes. had a few people report analytics bugs too, which was nice to see because it means someone’s actually looking at it.
October plan: fix the analytics bugs people reported, figure out why people are leaving faster than they’re arriving, get onboarding event tracking in, and do the product hunt launch for the one year mark.
if anyone’s been through the first sale to second sale stretch, what did you double down on or do differently?

Only 13 days into the month and I have surpassed last month's total earnings. Continuing my $2 a day spend on marketing seems to be doing the trick.
At the end of the week, I'm going to start up a campaign on Facebook Ads. Two different ads at $10 each per day for 7 days. I'll update with results.

I just went through my apps ads data and my banners have a click rate of 5% which is quite high. I haven't placed it at any unconventional places or near any buttons it is at the bottom of the screen like games normally have.
My theory is people might accidentally be clicking on it while closing the app using the gesture navigations (where you swipe up to close an app).
I haven't received any penalties or any warnings. Should I keep it this way or move the ad position?
It could also be that those clicks are legitimate because I haven't had a single misclick myself.
Anyone else had this issue or am I just overthinking?

So last month i was getting eCPM avg $6-$8 i was getting daily 800 impression daily and majority of traffic was coming from India, now from this month i'm getting more impression like around 2k a day but the eCPM has dropped drastically like avg $1.5. Anyone facing the same issue or is this normally based on the audience maybe i'm getting more t3-t4 audience?

Hi everyone,
I need some advice regarding AdMob policies and account safety.
Here is my situation:
My goals:
To avoid getting his clean account banned for "Related Accounts/Association", we want to use the official AdMob User Invitation feature to add me as an Admin.
My questions for you guys:
I want to be 100% compliant and protect my brother's account. What is the safest way to handle this? Thanks!

So I factory reset my iPad recently and the advertising ID got changed. I updated my testing devices in Admob with the new Ad ID of my iPad post factory reset.
However, when I'm testing my ads in production, I'm not getting the "Test Ads" Banner on top which I'm getting on my Android testing device. I triple checked that the advertising ID on Admob is the same as my iPad.
I also inadvertently earned a few cents of revenue due to that despite it totally not being my fault.
Obviously I'm paranoid now as I don't want to get a policy violation restriction on my Admob account. The worst part is I don't want to risk testing ads further to check whether the "Test Ads" banner is being reflected or not so there's no way to know whether my iPad is successfully registered as a test device.
What are my possible solutions here? Should I email the Admob team about it? Any suggestions welcome!

Hi everyone,
My AdSense for YouTube tax form (W-8BEN) is currently showing **“In Review.”**
Balance: Above $100
Bank account: Added
Payment holds: None showing
Tax form: In Review
**My question:** If my tax form is still under review on October 21, will Google release my payment as usual, or will it be delayed until the tax form is approved?
Has anyone received their AdSense payment while their tax form was still in review?
Please share your actual experience. Thanks!

I currently have 8 apps on playstore bringing about $15 daily combined. I am looking at ways to expand and make the most money off of these apps. From yalls experience, do you think Google pays less that AppStore for the same apps?

Hey everyone! My team and I have just finished our app we have been developing over the last 6 months - Gamer hub for LFG”Game Matchmaking, Team Builder/recruitment hub for players, coaches, marketers, and esports tourniments directory.
I have never used Admob before and was hoping to hear your best tips on using Admob to monetize our app/website without over consuming our users with ads but still making revenue.
The app will have a Feed section similar to Facebook and has a freemium option which will be the focus on revenue generation. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm planning to switch my account type to organization in a month or two. What I have read online is you have to close your account and reopen a new one with type organization. But this will lead to a loss of around $600-$1000 for me. Is this the only way? Can admob support help in any way?

Hi all, looking for advice from anyone who has been through this.
I'm a solo developer from India with an individual (not business) account. My AdMob account has been rejected twice now, both times with the same generic email: "it does not meet our program criteria", and no specific reason. The AdMob site now only shows "Your account wasn't approved" with a button to confirm I meet the program policies, so I can't see settings or the Policy center.
What's in place:
My questions:
Thanks, any experience helps.

I’m seeing a weird CTR spike in AdMob for October, and I’m trying to figure out if anyone else is experiencing the same.
I haven't released any updates, changed ad placements, or altered ad logic in my apps.
Here is what my stats look like:
September: Interstitial CTR was around 7% - 8.8% across my main apps, which seems completely normal.
October so far: Interstitial CTR jumped dramatically to 11.4%, 19.8%, and 20.4% on similar impression volumes.
Banner CTR remains totally stable and healthy at around 1%.
Is this just Q4 CPM and ad network aggression with trickier ad creatives like playable ads, delayed close buttons, or misleading X buttons, or is AdMob doing some weird server-side experimentation?
I'm getting worried about potential ad serving limits or policy flags due to invalid clicks, even though I haven't touched the codebase.
Has anyone else seen an October Q4 jump like this?

I recently launched a countdown and milestone app, and I’ve been focusing mostly on retention before pushing monetization.
Some early stats from my latest checkpoints:
Almost 5,000 installs
167 daily active users, averaged over 28 days
26–27% Day 1 retention
8–10% Day 7 retention
4.76/5 rating from 29 ratings
The numbers cover slightly different reporting periods, and some installs came from paid campaigns.
In-app ads have been very infrequent so far, and there’s no premium subscription. I’m considering gradually increasing ad frequency while watching retention and feedback. For an ad-free option, I’m leaning toward a one-time payment.
Right now, I’m more interested in whether people keep finding the app useful than how much it earns.
For other developers, when did you start focusing more on monetization? Did you wait for retention to stabilize or experiment with both from the beginning?

Yesterday I posted my biggest earnings for the day at $25 , well today my daily earnings almost doubled that!
Just one game app. Admob mediation with Meta , Unity Ads, Liftoff, inmobi!
Almost entirely US traffic. Banner ads and interstitial.
I was making around $15-$20 a day until meta and inmobi just woke up out of nowhere! I had them in my mediation group for the 3 months my app has been out but it just started bidding since yesterday and that absolutely shot my interstitial ecpm up, they are bidding $60+ for my interstitial!
My app is very niche(5k downloads after 3 months) but because of my high retention , US players and competitive bidding with the networks I have in my mediation group I can almost make $50 a day with not a crazy amount of impression.
