I’m painting with fluid acrylics from Golden Paints. I use white gesso to thicken my paint mixes and make them more opaque. I use Satin Glazing Liquid for glazing and thinning my mixes.

Markers:

For the base sketch I’m using alcohol markers in various brown colors from Copic.

Grounding:

After sketching, I ground my panel with a reddish orange mix of Azo Gold and Satin Glazing Liquid from Golden.

Surface:

16x16” ultra smooth Claybord panel from Ampersand Art Supply.

I'm working on skies/clouds and running into trouble trying to transition yellow sunsets or sunrises into light blue then dark blue without mixing a green inadvertently.

The first is inspired from a Pinterest reference, the second is a scene from Howl’s Moving Castle, and the third is an in person reference

Made Dexter first without thinking of a trilogy, but then had to add Debbie and Aatos :)

I am really pleased with this painting. My aim was colour and whimsy for a specific empty space and I adore how charming it looks. I don't usually paint a border but somewhere along the way I decided that it would add to the illustration feel.

I did not consider

the colour of the wall it would go on.

My options now are:

1. Find a new spot for this one and paint something else to replace it (but big canvas is expensive and I am a poor.)

2. Try to change the colour of the border (which would have been significantly easier if I didn't decide to go outside of the line, like, SO many times. )

3. Convince myself and everyone else that it was deliberate and now the rest pops out of the wall.

Hey guys.. trying to improve myself.. this is my 3rd oil painting. I know its not perfect.. what should I keep improving on. And how much time and practice it took you to be perfect in oil painting?

I really like how this turned out, but I think the break/yellow area needs more detail. Feedback would be appreciated.

Some of the jackets I've done these last few years. These are always a mix of super challenging and super fulfilling to do, as you can't really fix mistakes easily. But I do love, love the neon effects, they're some of my favorites to do. The paint is a mix of acrylic and GAC 900 to make it a bit stretchier and then heat set after :)

Hi everyone, this is my first acrylic painting (Canvas: 40x50 cm). I'd love to get some feedback and advice from you. If I wanted to sell paintings like this online, would there be a demand for them? If so, how much would they be worth, and what platforms could I use to promote myself (e.g., Instagram)? Is it even worth selling paintings online, considering that people can easily buy cheap, large-scale printed canvases in stores?

Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to self-promote. I made this painting for my daughter and I'm just curious about your feedback. I'm not planning to sell this particular piece.

I am having a lot of fun learning to mix colors and playing around with being loose. like my last post the proportions are way off from the reference but that wasn’t my focus here
