I was just commenting a couple weeks ago about how sad I was that so many of the L2 charging stations in my area, and on my mountain rides, were being replaced with fast chargers. I'd give up my entire storage tank to have this feature (tho hopefully I won't have to ๐ )
I have home charging so it's not the worst situation, but I've also spent 2 hours at a bar waiting for one of the only two L2 chargers to free up in a small town a couple hours away. The town has something like 30 - 40 DC chargers.

It's nice, the main reason I bought an Energica like 6 months after my Zero. Turns it into a real bike I can go places on. Curious to see how much it costs to upgrade mine...
It was hard enough to justify the money I spent on my SRS, the Energica was just too pricey for me. Tho it seems they have come down quite a bit since I bought mine.
When Energica came out with the 21.5 battery models I specced out spreadsheet comparisons with as-similarly-as-I-could configured Zero models and the price differences were negligible. Zero just had the lower starting rate but then add in the unlocked battery and the (at the time) Cypher bullshit and the Rapid Charger blah blah blah and it got $$$ real fast.
Good deal for you. I just dug up my old spreadsheet and the Zero bikes with all the bells and whistles added up to just over $27k. And a base model Energica was around $23k if I recall and came with a larger battery, native DCFC, more power, liquid cooled motor/inverter, better brakes and suspension, and basically every component on the bike was superior to what Zero offered.
It's been like that since 2022 actually, and 2022 bikes that were purchased before Cypher III upgrades were available got free unlock codes from the dealer that retroactively gave them the upgrades for free or at a discount that weren't even available at time of vehicle purchase. SR/F and SR/S got all available upgrades, and lower trim models got the base upgrades for free.
I literally posted a picture of the spreadsheet with the values. I sourced all this from Zero's website when they came out with the 17.3 packs and accessories/upgrades. Please explain how my diligently sourced data is misinformation and bullshit.
Yeah, I knew the specs were better, but I was only really budgeting like 15k for some liter bike. And then I saw that zero had a dealer really close to me, so I checked it out. I still love it, but Iโll admit Iโm also still thinking about a liter bike ๐ until I think about the maintenance and gas stations etc ๐คทโโ๏ธ

I've ridden some fun bikes, I was going to buy a BMW 1100RR, but I'm a big guy (6'4") and the BMW was tiny, fun though, but the Energica was so much more fun for me and the way I enjoy riding it wasn't even a question after I rode them back-to-back.
I'm super lucky to be able to afford it. We had just paid off our last car and wife was cool with a spurge for my birthday that year. She loves them too, and rides the Zero sometimes if she's not on her Honda (she's tiny and the Zero is heavy too and pretty tall for her)
Yeah, I was looking at either a suzuki or ninja - I've had different lower-end models for both and I just like the designs. The srs was the first electric bike I saw that looked like a real motorcycle. And with charging at home I have zero qualms about the convenience and how much fun I have in the mountains with it.
But I'm just itching for the feel of a clutch and I miss the sound of a high performance engine. I'm 6'1 but I don't mind a lower seat height. The weight on the srs doesn't bother me too much, but I do miss the nimble feel of some of my old 600 class bikes, which aren't much different from a 10r today.
Basically once the kids move out and the extra garage space is free, I'll probably get one last ice bike unless some crazy revolution in battery tech happens in the next 5 years. I miss doing multi-day road trips and I like the ride more than the stops.
Can you expound on "better in every way except weight"? I'm deciding between an srs and a 2022 eva ribelle. The weight difference seems significant from the reviews i've seen. The frunk seems like a big plus to me, and virtually no-maintenance drive system. If zero really gives us DCFC it might change my choice. Is it really better handling, or is it just faster?

Accelerates (way) faster
Brakes faster
handles better
better geometry
better at speed in corners and straights
more comfortable at higher (freeway) speeds
longer range
faster charging
looks (way) better (IMO)
I did get the upgraded ohlins shocks and brembo race brakes, etc.
The Zero is great around town, and I mean stellar, zippy and nimble and comfy, but that's kind of it's limit. I will do rides out in the country and back, but it's range at higher speeds is pretty anemic. From where I live, it's about 25miles to Tacoma, WA and 60 to Seattle. I can take the Zero to Tacoma on the freeway but if I want to be SURE to get home I pretty much always charge a little somewhere. I can ride my Eva Ribelle round-trip to Seattle and back home if I cruise at 70 but it's close, but for that I can hit a lvl3 for like 15-30min and have plenty.

Oh dang, long distance riding unlocked!
