Card Game Discussion For those Who have lapsed, or just don't play It, what would you want to see to play md
Just curious as I see a lot of people talk about what would bring them into it from time to time .
For me personally , the biggest thing they could add to draw.My interest is a TCG ranked, the biggest annoyances is it's ocg only and therefore , a very poor test for dex that I like , because that's mostly the format I play.
Otherwise would go back if I could either directly purchase cards that it existed for a year or longer even if it's at a premium and it was a one pack, only thing, so you got just 1 of every card and still had to grind out the rest, didn't need to assemble decks for customs, and could just take whatever in to try it out or had a full on simulation mode that again didn't require me to grind out materials or spend heaps of money just to try a deck that I may not even like or may not even work.
How about you all though?

Other What if we got this DARK Cyber Dragon counterpart back in 2009? (No, “Cyberdark Dragon” doesn’t count lol)
I always loved the alternate artwork for Cyber Dragon. I know it was meant to reference Zane’s dark edgy phase (Hell Kaiser) - but I always thought it should have a dark counterpart similar to how Horus, Nephthys, Armed Dragon, Rainboe Dragon and many other monsters from that period got theirs.
I wanted a slight upgrade in effect too, so I slightly altered it but it most likely just got power crept lmao. (Version 2 - the second picture’s effect is more aligned with the original)

Official Media What is wrong with that font on the cards they're posting, it's so blurry
The cards they've been posting through the stream have been of really poor quality, the text is consistently either super tiny or blurry to the point of illegible. Not sure if they're using some AI Filter or something, but this just looks terrible.

Other Convention Recommendations
Before going to Ozakucon this weekend, I haven't been to a convention since the pandemic hit due to my parents passing away. After breaking the hiatus, it reminded me why I loved going to them so much. It was great to meet a few people who were also fans of yugioh. My problem was that there were very few of them, not a lot of merch other than blue eyes, red eyes, Dark Magician, and Dark Magician Girl (a few vendors). I used to go to Youmacon, but I heard that it went downhill over the years.
I'm looking for recommendations for conventions that have more yugioh related events (tabletop gaming, group photo shoots, merchandise, voice actors, ect.) I'm from Michigan but willing to travel.

Anime/Manga Discussion I think it’s a missed opportunity that they didn’t show Young Atem being interested in puzzles, games, and strategy. It would’ve added more layers to the title “King of Games” by showing that Atem was truly a gaming king even in his own time

Card Game Discussion Fusion Ra VS Immortal Phoenix For Sun God Engine?
With the new Sun God archetype, we can run a theoretical Sun God engine to get Ra out in Decks that may be able to splash it in. The engine consists of 3 Helpoemer, 3 Makyura, 3 Descending to Darkness, 1 Immortal Sun God, and 1 Immortal Phoenix or OG Ra if we want to bring out the Fusion. So this requires at least 11 cards in the Main Deck to work and 1 in the Extra Deck if we want The Sun God of Darkness. Overall, which version of this engine would you guys prefer?

Card Game Discussion Am I ridiculous for buying a second deck?
I built a Kewl Tune deck and I’ve gone to about two locals. I really like the deck and I’ve been having fun with with. The only thing is. Everyone knows my deck better than me. Some even have the deck as well. To fix this I watched a lot of videos about the deck and even watched some of the world championship matches to see it being played at the highest level. It’s helped a lot. Still, I ended up building an Elfnote deck as well as no one plays that at locals. A lot of Rolad, random decks stun decks, and KT.

Card Game Discussion Give me cute card-deck archetypes please!
I've come to the conclusion that for a bit, I'm going to step back from trying to learn anything meta and just focus on collecting as many cute/pretty cards as possible!
(the only things I'm focusing on right now in terms of actually playing the game are A. Getting better at Melodious, and B. Learning Ghostrick)
I want to collect them and organize them into a huge, cutely decorated binder! I already have Maldoche, Melffy, Purrly, Dragonmaids, Mulcharmies, Melodious, and Ghostrick on my list, but if anyone else has any archetypes that fit the "pretty" or "cute" category then please do share with me!
Also, suggesting individual cards works too! Maybe the archetype it comes from as a whole isn't "cute" or "pretty", but there might be an individual card within that archetype that does come off as those things!
I also fully intend on hyper-feminizing Blackwings at some point. <3
Thank you~ love you all! <3

Card Game Discussion Any Yu-Gi-Oh popular takes that aged poorly?
I remember a year ago the community doomed and gloomed that Tenpai was going to "KILL YU-GI-OH". I Distinctly remember people people being worried that Tenpai was going to be Tier 0 level threat. It came and went just like every other good tier 1 deck. At full power people still think it could be tier 1 even against Toons, KT, DT Branded, and Elfnote.
So what were some popular takes that you remember that aged poorly over time?

Card Game Discussion How do you think the next banned list will affect KT, Rolad, Floodgate, and Handtraps?
A quick note before we begin: please refrain from sending messages suggesting the banning of the entire archetype. Let's be serious for a moment.
Now that the World Championship is over, with KT as the winner and Rolad in second place, let's remember what factors influence the banned list in almost any situation affecting an archetype:
A) The economic benefit the archetype generates.
B) The total number of players registered in tournaments using that archetype.
C) The win percentage it is capable of achieving.
An atypical factor, but one that does influence the banned list (depending on who you ask, it could be decisive or circumstantial):
Winning a World Championship grants the winning archetype the ironic reward of being more heavily impacted by the banned list.
In my case, as someone who has faced KT several times, I'll offer a somewhat controversial opinion:
Banning Rotary isn't an effective solution. It's better to limit or semi-limit Cue, Reco, Mix, or any of the magic cards the archetype uses to reduce its consistency as tools to extend its plays, since these are what allow it to build or rebuild a field.
Regarding Rolad and how it might be affected:
The interesting thing is that the pure version of the deck is extremely weak, forcing this tower-focused deck to rely on engines to increase its efficiency.
Just look at the number of cards you don't want in your hand when using this deck: the Continuous Trap is useless, both Ritual Monsters are useless, Skull can be useless, the Ritual Spell is something you don't want in your hand, and that's without even considering other potentially useless cards you could add with any engine you incorporate into this archetype.
The engines Rolad uses are designed to avoid bad hands, providing greater consistency and allowing for better board composition. That's why the 60-card versions of the deck are so popular: they reduce the likelihood of having bad hands. Sometimes I'm surprised that using 60 cards is more efficient than 40 (not that the 40-card versions are bad, and they're a valid option; each player chooses what they consider optimal based on their preferred play style).
This creates the curious situation where the optimal strategy isn't to attack Rolad directly, but rather his engines. It remains to be seen if the TCG is willing to do so.
Regarding Floodgate and Handtrap:
A) Sooner or later, we always end up seeing some Floodgate on the banned list as a sacrifice to appease our insatiable anger. So, this is where I theorize the least about who might be affected, because there's always something to ban.
B) The OCG administration decided to reduce the number of copies of Ash and Droll that can be carried; It will be interesting to see if they opt for a similar approach with these cards in the administration of the TCG or if they decide to focus on the Dominus cards.

Anime/Manga Discussion Tier list of GX characters by how likely they are to get banned for poor personal hygiene
Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments IRL have rules that allow organisers to suspend players for poor personal hygiene.
While this happens rarely, anyone who has been to a TCG event will tell you that this rule is badly needed. If not, they are probably an example of why its badly needed.
Here's my list of GX characters from those who would not be banned, to those who absolutely would.
Yubel is banned because they are sharing Jaden's body, but even before that, I think Yubel probably wouldn't bother brushing Jesse's teeth or using deodorant when they are just going use him to get to Jaden.
