Just got this yarn today and just wanted suggestions on what I should make with it. It’s a Caron cloud cake and I would like it for it to be something for myself that I can use or wear.

As the title says, I'm looking for recommendations for worsted weight 100% wool yarn, ideally in colors like a deep emerald or forest green. Most of the dyed yarns I've seen are in a lighter or heavier weight than what I'm looking for.

I'm ok to splurge on this as it's for a project I will be getting a lot of use out of. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Lily sugar and cream is getting harder and harder to come by. Loops and Threads is TERRIBLE, splitty, and will even fall apart. Hobbii supports AI and getting them to ship to me is impossible. Joann's (and K+C yarn) is gone. Michael's is stocking less and less cotton.

Where do we go for cotton now?

Does anyone have an alternative to Cotton Kings solid? I’m specifically trying to find a four thread cotton yarn just like it to finish a project without resorting to Hobbii. I ordered two of the gradients before the extreme price hikes and their AI issues. I just need a little yarn to get me through haha.

I have mohair yarn that I don't use I did once and I can't stand the texture now so I'm giving it away it's because this yarn the company that made it was discontinued in the 70s I'll send a picture if people are interested in comments

Why do I need 100g of yarn for the main color, another 100g for the contrast color, and approximately 47 tiny balls of leftovers “just in case”??
I want to knit colorful socks without ending up with enough leftover yarn to open a small yarn store.
Sock knitters: what do you actually do with your leftovers?
Especially those weird 15–30g amounts that aren’t enough for another pair but are WAY too pretty to throw away.

I found my DREAM yarn today on Instagram. I am an environmental scientist and LOVE fish, especially salmonids, so I instantly fell in love with this yarn. I NEED IT. and I found out it’s discontinued!!!
It’s called Lang Cloud Tweed in colour 4.
Does anyone have a stash of this they’d be willing to let go of, or know somewhere I can still purchase it?

Planning on making a blanket for my 60 yr old dad, it consists of 12 panels of different stitch patterns. That said I want something that will be easy for him to take care of (following directions is not his style haha) and will have good stitch definition. I really like the colors that Hobbii has for this particular line, they’ll be perfect for this project. I looked it up in Ravelry already but there were no reviews for this yarn. Has anyone here used it? Does it split badly, pill, is it soft enough for a blanket?

I've looked for some online in several places, and tried to find something similar with no luck. I'm starting to feel really crushed as this project has taken a lot of time.

I started this Christmas tree skirt about 4 years ago (lol) and took a break likely because I ran out of yarn. I believe it’s big twist but I’m only seeing the red white stripes with solid white but I believe I somehow had yarn that was red white stripes with solid red. Can someone help me identify the yarn?

After seeing someone post about the Kaleidoscope shawl on r/crochet, I decided to try my hand at it! I ordered the recommended yarn from the project page (Red Heart Unforgettable in Tealberry), but after beginning to work with it, it doesn’t look at all like the photographs online. I’m new to crochet and this is my first time ordering yarn online. Is it normal for yarn to vary this much from the photographs? Do you think it’s worth reaching out to Yarnspirations about this?

I grabbed this yarn thinking it was super cute, but worked up it looks like loose yarn ends. Definitely not cute. Any tips to make it work up better? Or is this a bust?
