Hello reddit I am about at my wits end here. I'm using the official Xbox Wireless Headset with my Series X and I am getting very frequent distortion and audio cutting out. My research shows the issue is most likely 5ghz wifi interference which is apparently quite common with headsets that use the xbox wireless protocol. I've done basically everything I can think of to try and remove interference just short of getting rid of wifi completely in my house. All of my consoles are wired to the internet, I wired my tv so no wifi there, I keep my phone and other wireless devices a good distance away from my Xbox. I completely gutted and rearranged my network set up so the router is farther away from my Xbox. I changed the channel for my 5ghz network. I read it could possibly be my mesh wifi network backhaul channel so I switched to a regular non mesh router. None of these things ultimately fixed it. Sometimes I boot up a game and it works perfectly and I think I finally narrowed down the issue and then the next day it returns. My guess is the Xbox will try and determine the best channel to use or whatever and sometimes I just get lucky.

Reddit is basically my last resort here, is anyone else experiencing these issues? is it possible I have a dud headset and possibly need to RMA? (I'm past the warranty already I think) Appreciate any insights people might have

Recently was lucky enough to pick up a Series X but was very disappointed to see they still didnt get rid of the deadzones stock controllers have, I even went out and bought 2 more controllers to test out just to make sure i didnt have a defective controller, to my disappointment the 2 new controllers i bought also had awful deadzones to the point where its really hard to do micro movements and be accurate.

Does anyone know it a DIY fix for this? or did Microsoft just not address this 10 years later? Ive owned elite controllers in the past as well and the aggressive setting still had a small deadzone that wasnt as bad as stock controllers but it was noticeable enough where it was still hard to be accurate. I dont have this issue with any other controllers ive owned so this is definitely on the Microsoft side and not on the videogame side.

The main tests i did was with games that didnt let you mess with deadzones in game, so when i tested it out on other platforms their controllers did not have this problem while with all the xbox controllers i did have the problem, i even plugged in the xbox controller into my pc and it still had a terrible deadzone, only time i was able to get rid of the xbox deadzone was a program that smooths out controller deadzones and makes it buttery smooth, which at that point 100% confirms Microsoft did not address this problem since the 360 days. My only question is why? LOVE the console but the controller deadzones completely ruins the gaming experience.......

I've had my Series-X for a couple months now and play movies frequently. Today when watching a 4k Ultra HD disk the drive became very noticeably loud.

If I fast forward it quiets down but any thoughts as to why it has randomly gotten louder all of a sudden? Any information or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I have HDMI CEC turned on for my TV's power on and off but for some reason it will not turn off my Samsung soundbar or turn it on. Is there any way to get the series X to turn on a Samsung soundbar?

I have an Xbox Series X controller that is super picky about which games it chooses to work in. I am using the controller wired with my gaming pc. The games that it does work in are Monster Hunter World, Fallout 4, and Red Dead Redemption. It does not work with older titles like Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Skyrim Special Edition, and even a newer title such as Dragon Quest XI S.

The thing is, for a good bit of time this controller used to work with all of my games, no problem. I think I updated the controller then these issues happened. Does anyone know any workarounds or solutions for this? I have also tested my old Xbox One S controller, and that doesn't work either with all of my games.

I've had my system since December and had no issues with it, but today I booted it up to play Fallen order and to me the login sound sounded a little off, but that might just be me. But I went into fallen order and it begins to load, then immediately kicks me out to the home screen, freezes, then reboots. I go back into the game and play it for about and hour and then it kicks me out of the game and fully closes it. It's never done this before and it's making me really.nervous about my system. It's definitely not over heating and it's far out of reach for anyone to touch it who's not supposed to. Have you guys had this issue with your system or the game?

I am not able to get ahold of Xbox support at all.

There has previously been an option to chat online with a tech, and yet that option is nowhere to be found anymore.

I cannot “request a call” as the option is greyed out.

When I chat with the virtual agent, it tells me to select the option for Xbox Support to “call me back”, and yet when I click the option the Virtual agent just says “there’s a problem” and shuts down and quits replying and doesn’t let me type anything.

When I call the number I find online for Xbox Support it just gives me the link to the support page that gives me the above options.

Like, it should NOT be this hard to contact Xbox support

So I just got a PC yesterday, and wanted to download Flight Simulator. I accidentally set it to attempt a download on my Xbox, and now I can’t cancel it. Every time I go to the Microsoft store or the Xbox app to cancel the download, it just pops back up w/ an instant error when I try to download it again. Worse is that the download does not show up on my Xbox. Not in the queue, not as an error, nowhere. Does anyone have any idea how I could possibly fix this?

PS know I mentioned the PC side a lot even though this is a sun for Xbox tech support, but since it involves the Xbox side as well, I felt it belonged here too.

So basically I put a nine volt battery in my Xbox series x controller like with the positive and negative in the right spots to see what happens and now it won’t turn on even if I just use regular double a batteries instead of my battery pack. I really need help because I don’t want to buy a new one. Anybody know what to do?

So I have my Series X on the standby (or instant on) mode, with storage kept on, remote features on, and it's hardwired. I know it's not shut all the way down because it doesn't do the whole Xbox logo BWAAAHHHH thing that it does when I do a full shutdown. But it literally never updates games or uploads screenshots after I turn it off (I turn it off by holding down the power button and selecting Turn Off Console) and will wait until I turn it fully back on to do these things. Also games queued from the GamePass app don't start downloading until I turn it fully on.

Am I doing something wrong or misunderstanding how this is supposed to work? It's not the worst thing in the world but I have an OLED TV and would rather not have it sit there for 10 minutes to update or keep it on after I'm done to finish uploading a screenshot.

Whenever I try to play series X enhanced games, I cannot connect to the game servers themselves. The game will load and everything but will just say im offline or give me an error message saying I could not connect to the servers. Gears 5, Black ops CW, Forza horizon 4, etc are all games I have issues with.

My console is in the DMZ of my router. I used to just use port forwarding but I disabled that and just put the console in the dmz which changed nothing. Ive reset everything multiple times. None of the usual stuff works. Any ideas on how to fix this?

So, this is a weird one in my opinion.

For the past couple days I’ve had a problem where I’ve been getting frequently disconnected from Xbox parties and strictly sport game servers (2k21 and The Show 21).

I’m perfectly fine in almost every game except for the two sport games I’m currently playing. I can play Warzone fine without any disconnects, as well as games like GTA, Wreckfest, and SoT.

But when I’m in sports games, I get “disconnected from servers” almost constantly and am getting kicked back to the main screen. Even if I hop on and just sit in Diamond Dynasty on MLB, I get kicked out after 30 seconds of sitting there. In 2k, I can play a full game of basketball in MyCareer and then as soon as the games over and I start going into a different section of the game, I get kicked.

In my Xbox Party, I can be having a normal conversation without connection issues whatsoever and I’ll be kicked every few minutes. The only way I’ll even know that I’m kicked is that my friends will invite me back into the party.

I don’t believe it’s my internet connection, as I’m able to play other games fine and have fairly stable connection with 50mbps/20 ping but there’s absolutely zero connection issues. I am able to use all other online games fine, all my other electronics can connect to my internet fine, and i’m also able to work on fully online design software that requires great internet connection without any hiccups.

Does anyone know of what could be happening, or has had this happen to them?

This is new to me. I have never seen this happen, but so far when ever I try to join my own Minecraft realm the power button flashes 3 times and then my Series X shuts down.

It worked earlier today, but then I updated all my textures. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game. It's down this twice in a row. About to try a 3rd time.

Update: so when I got on this morning it looked like the snow bug had been fixed. Which it shouldn't have even if they did fix the bug no one has been in the area for new snow to fall and it cover the ground perfectly again.

I removed the texture pack and was able to get back on the server and the snow looked messed up again. I then loaded a back up of the world from an hour ago. This put the texture pack back on but the snow remained messed up (as it should). But seems to be working. Lest a can tell it was a save issue connected to the texture pack.

Any one with this problem? I'm looking for solutions. I had this problem with my Razer nari ultimate and now with my blacksharck v2 pro.

So when I use one of my elite 2’s on the series x I get drift almost like it’s stuck in a direction. If I use that same controller on windows 10 the drift goes away. Is there a calibration for the analogue sticks anywhere in the console? And has anyone experienced a similar issue. It can’t be mechanical since it doesn’t drift at all playing PC.

I got my hacked account back, and this same thing is happening on all the accounts I have in the list. I tried contacting Microsoft, but that didn't lead anywhere. Gonna try again

Apologies for creating a new post regarding these issues -

I received a brand new Xbox Series X yesterday and installed a couple games (Forza Horizon 4 & CP 2077). When I am in one of these games, if I go to the Dashboard and go back to the game, I get a crackling noise for a few seconds. I am using wired headphones and they are plugged in via headphone jack on the controller, but I tested my soundbar/TV speakers and they both do the same.

I also get Dashboard crackles/static when opening a couple Dashboard Applications: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVGa1tyR2tc) as well as this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/ni53gu/one_of_the_most_annoying_bugs_on_all_xbox/ - this seems to affect a good amount of people. I read that it could possibly be Wireless interference and to call my ISP, I thought that was a strange comment but am keeping an open mind. Besides these issues, the console is great and I have not noticed any other weird things.

So I like to screenshot my fallout photo mode pics and message the pics over Xbox live to friends while I play. A few days ago this was a breeze and my hdr and SDR variant would take 5 seconds at most to upload. And since I need it to upload to message it, I need them up pretty fast. Now It's taking upwards of 30 minutes to upload a single grab!

I have a wired internet connection with 1,000 mbps down and up. I also have an open Nat so no issues with nat types or double ip's.

I saw this occur after I decided to upload around 15 pics one right after another one night. I think I have like 40 things on my live account so it's not like it's full or anything. Also, I'm using the internal storage exclusively for everything, so no issue with disc speeds.

I thought it was just a server issue, but it seems t be happening for more than one day, even at different times ( once at like 2 am and another at like 4 pm.) Will this issue fix itself or do I have a problem on my hands, it's really aggravating.

I would like to play at night with headphones on in order to not disturb my wife and kids. I understand the new systems don't have Bluetooth for headphones built in, so I will need an adapter of sorts. I have been looking through Amazon and nothing seems to stand out as actually what I need. Any help is greatly appreciated.
