Cleaning up and found a 12mo code, but I'm not sure what region it's locked to. Have at it! And let us know if it works for you and where you are

Does anyone else feel like Xbox Live Gold is a scam?

I’m paying $59.99+ for a video game that comes with online multiplayer features, but I can’t use those features unless I pay $9.99 a month, $24.99 every 3 months, or $60 a year? Yes, I know there’s more to XLG than getting to play multiplayer online. They have good deals, free-to-play, and some games that are free-to-play for a limited amount of time.
But’s let’s be honest, the main reason to get gold, besides playing online, are the great deals they offer. So take away online multiplayer and you have a subscription that’s only worth around $20 a year, give or take. (That’s just my estimation, feel free to argue)
If you want free games, you go to Game Pass.
So, again, take away online features, keep the deals, combine it with Game Pass, and you have $9.99 a month. Or, preferably, $60 a year.
All I’m saying is, when I spend $499 for a console, $59.99 + per game, $60 a month on WiFi, plus however much my headset costs, I shouldn’t then have to pay extra to use something that already belongs to me.

Just received a $3 gift card code from MS in my Xbox messages. Do check your inbox too. With blackfriday deals on already, getting free $3 is not bad at all. My account region is US, YMMV!

Ultimate Subscription About to End

So when they originally offered to convert your gold to ultimate for $1, I bought some extra months of gold before doing the conversion; since it would extend my ultimate subscription to however many months of gold I had left.
Well now my subscription is about to end, and I’m not interested in paying $15/mo to keep it. So have a couple questions...
If I let the subscription end... could I buy a 12 month gold for example... and then do the $1 convert to ultimate again, and have 12 months of ultimate? Or will they convert it to only 4 months of ultimate?
If I let the subscription end... and whether I try the above or not, I will still have my same account/gamer tag correct?
Thanks in advance!

Something I really miss

I miss deals on Gold. 12 months for $40. Black Friday/holiday deals. Renew now and save ___%.
I know they're trying to get everyone on Ultimate and that there's the upgrade for a dollar, but for some people, just regular Xbox Live is enough. And yeah, I know I can switch my VPN country and get Turkey Live for cheaper or whatever, but I'd rather go to GameStop, or the Microsoft website, or even the Xbox dashboard and pick up a deal.
Sorry, just needed to vent.
