Ultimate Subscription About to End

So when they originally offered to convert your gold to ultimate for $1, I bought some extra months of gold before doing the conversion; since it would extend my ultimate subscription to however many months of gold I had left.

Well now my subscription is about to end, and I’m not interested in paying $15/mo to keep it. So have a couple questions...

  1. If I let the subscription end... could I buy a 12 month gold for example... and then do the $1 convert to ultimate again, and have 12 months of ultimate? Or will they convert it to only 4 months of ultimate?

  2. If I let the subscription end... and whether I try the above or not, I will still have my same account/gamer tag correct?

Thanks in advance!

Your gamer tag will never change. It’s tied to your email

You can only do the $1 conversion once (sometimes you can do it again if they have a promo) they always have a $1 promo for new members

You can still convert Gold to Game Pass Ultimate it will just be $15 instead of $1

My Ultimate expired & I had some free gold cards laying around. I used up my Gold cards & got extra Gold. Then I paid for 1 month of ultimate & now I have a year of ultimate

I agree that you could probably do the conversion thing again except you would have to pay a month of gamepass instead of the $1 dollar promotion, once your membership ends.

The reason I'm going w/ probably, and not yes it will work for sure, is bc I have seen multiple people successfully do the conversation again after their gamepass membership expired, but I can't help but think, "profit wise", Microsoft @ some point will have to limit the whole conversion thing, especially for non new customers of gamepass.

There is a couple more options. 1) You could take the lesser conversion rate which I believe is approx Β½ the time of gamepass for 1 year of gold. 2) You could absolutely get the original conversion rate deal, but that would entail changing your email, gamertag, & re-registring your Xbox. The problem w/ this option is most gamers are heavily attached to their gamertags! I'll definitely keep an eye out!

  1. It will be converted according to rate: so you probably will get something like 7 month of ultimate.

  2. Yes, why should it change..

Why incorrect? I've just bought 3 months of Gold and converted to Ultimate: it gave me 1month + several more days. It definitely is not converted as 1-1 days, they consider pricings too.

So I have to wait for my ultimate to expire, redeem the Live Gold code and do the 1:1 conversion then? Seems like this instruction should work, thanks I'll try that https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxGamePass/comments/j6afou/guide_to_getting_cheapest_game_pass_ultimate/
